Welcome to the Ankara International Movie Awards (AIMA), an international platform dedicated to discovering, celebrating, and empowering independent filmmakers from all around the globe. Based in the historic and culturally rich capital of Turkey, AIMA serves as a bridge between visionary directors and a passionate cinematic community.
Our mission is simple: to give a voice to stories that challenge, inspire, and redefine the boundaries of cinema. Whether you are an established filmmaker or a low-budget indie director capturing raw emotions, AIMA is your stage. We have a profound appreciation for psychological depth, gripping narratives, striking cinematography, and the timeless aesthetics of noir and surrealism.
AIMA operates as a hybrid festival. While our main evaluation process is conducted thoroughly by our international jury behind closed doors—protecting your film’s premiere status—we culminate each annual cycle with an exclusive live screening and network event in Ankara, celebrating the very best of indie cinema.
At the Ankara International Movie Awards (AIMA), we celebrate every aspect of filmmaking. Winners and Nominees from each category will receive high-quality Official Digital Certificates and Official Laurels to elevate their film poster, portfolio, and IMDb credit score.
