The Apatzingán International Film Festival summons Mexican and foreign filmmakers to register their cinematographic work for its third edition to be held in november 2021 in the city of Apatzingán in Michoacán, Mexico; in its different categories of official competition:
Fiction feature film
Any national or foreign fiction production with a free theme, whose final production is from the year 2019 to 2021, with a duration greater than ninety minutes may be registered. Said productions may be taken into account even if they have been premiered, participated in other festivals or similar, except that they have been applied or selected in the second edition of AFIC.
Fiction short film
Any national or foreign production of fiction with a free theme, whose final production is from the year 2019 to 2021, with a duration of one to forty minutes, may be registered. Said productions may be taken into account, even if they have been premiered or participated in other festivals or similar, except that they have been applied or selected in the second edition of AFIC.
Feature documentary Film
You can register any national or foreign documentary production with a free theme, whose final production is from the year 2019 to 2021 with a duration greater than ninety minutes. Said productions may be taken into account even if they have been premiered or participated in other festivals or similar, except that they have been applied or selected in the second edition of AFIC.
Documentary short film
Any national or foreign documentary production with a free theme can be registered, whose final production is from the year 2019 to 2021, with a duration of one to forty minutes. Said productions may be taken into account even if they have been premiered or participated in other festivals or similar, except that they have been applied or selected in the second edition of AFIC.
This year we will have Children section will be composed of productions suitable for the whole family short and long in official competition, which are considered all categories.
The winners of the official competition will be awarded the AFIC Sculpture, and a diploma. The third edition will also recognize:
best Actor
Best actress
For the third edition, the work of the screnwriters with the Punto de Giro Award will be recognized for:
Best Fiction Screenplay for Feature Film
Best Fiction Screenplay for Feature Short Film
The Jury may grant special mentions.
This call is open from its publication until friday, April 30, 2021 at 8:00 p.m., central time in Mexico City.
The productions must be final cut corresponding to the years 2019 to 2021.
All productions can participate except organizers, collaborators, volunteers, sponsors, public officials as well as their immediate families.
The selected productions may participate in parallel and extension activities, as the Organizing Committee deems appropriate.
The registration process will be through the Festhome platform where the technical and formal characteristics for the correct registration to the competition are detailed.
The productions will be selected by an expert jury in cinematography whose decision will be final, with the power to declare one or more categories as deserted.
The selected productions will be published on Saturday, september 25, 2021 in the different official electronic media of the festival.
Full registration assumes acceptance of the terms and guidelines of this call by the participants.
Any situation not foreseen in this call, will be analyzed and resolved by the Organizing Committee.
