9th Babul Eco Film Fest 2025 has both competitive and non-competitive sections.

1) Short Film Contest-SFC: Duration below 5 minutes on any topic of ENVIRONMENT

2) Green Film Screenings-GFS: Duration above 5 minutes below 60 minutes.On any topic related to Environment, Biodiversity, Sustainable Development, Climate action etc.,

The main festival happens in Hyderabad, Telangana India during June 2025 and later travels to different places.
After this some films will have repeat screenings at different venues based on the themes as per the date and audience suitability.

Cash Prizes: 535€

Prize money of INR.50,000/- [ USD 600 ] will be awarded to the winners in Short Film Contest. This includes:

~ USD 300 for short films [for non-Indian countries]
1st Prize 150 USD
2nd Prize 100 USD
3rd Prize 50 USD
and

~ ₹25,000/- for short films [Indian Entries]
1st Prize ₹12000
2nd Prize ₹8000
3rd Prize ₹5000

9th BEFF2025 winners will get Laurels, Cash award, citation and Screening Certificate.

All the selected films ( Foreign and Indian ) will get Laurels, Screening Certificates.

Winners physically attending the award ceremony will get a BEFF memento/trophy.

Rules:

~ Films should cover one or more aspects of Environment, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development - any topic relates to Environment.

~ All genres, including documentaries, narratives, shorts, children’s films, and experimental films, Animation, PSAs are all welcome.
~The quality of the film production will also be considered and weighed.
~Animation includes: traditional animation, 2D animation, 3D animation, motion graphics, and stop motion

~ Film run-time: Upto 60 mins For Short Film Contest Below 5 Minutes

~ Format: MP4 / AVI / MOV

~ Films shot on mobile are also accepted

~ Non-English films should have English
Subtitles

~ Films made after 1.1.2023 are eligible.


The Jury for pre and final selection of film for 9th BEFF 2025 consist of personalities from the world of Environment, Media, Cinema, and audio-visual, as well as entrepreneurs or artists engaged in and/or Social Work. Decision of the organisers regarding film selection is final.

By submitting their films, the filmmakers agree that BEFF can screen the films at different venues as part of the travelling BEEF festival including Mini Festivals.

~For the Short Film Contest, in addition to the above, the following rules also apply:

Topic: ENVIRONMENT
Duration: Below 5 minutes ( including credits )

Total prize money of Rs.50,000/- will be awarded. For details refer to AWARDS section.


Note: While we make all efforts to hold a live physical event, however, due to prevailing situation the festival holds the right to postpone/defer or convert to online virtual festival



  Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
