CONDITIONS
Both feature films and short films will be accepted. Maximun duration will be up to 30 minutes for short films and more tan 30 minutes for the rest, and it will be essential that the theme is related to the world of surfing. The works may be of any genre, from fiction to documentary.
There is no limit as to the number of works to present in this contest by each autor
It is recommended that in the works that include dialogues and not in the oficial languages of the Basque Autonomous Community, subtitles are provided and that these be in Basqueo r Spanish.
They are excluded and will not be able to participate all those
works presented in the previous editions of this festival.
The proposals must be original, without being plagiaried or usuped by third parties. In case of suspicion, the corresponding autor proofs will be requested.
The autor will be the owner and responsable for all total reproduction rights of the work, and therefore, disclaims all liability arising from the organization of the festival.
In case of using music and/ or images, it is recommended that they be free of copyright (with copyleft or self-created licenses). In case of using copyrighted songs or images, the participant assumes the risk that the platform to which the video is uploaded or who has the copyright takes action against the video. In the same way, if it is found that the intelectual property regulations are being violated in any way, the organization will consider their dismissal.
All the works presented must make a non-sexist use of the language, attitudes and images, as well as non-homophobic and non-racist attitudes. Non-sexist use will be guaranteed in all the work submitted, in compliance with Law 4/2005, of February 18, for the Equality os Women and Men. Under the aforementioned law, in the productions presented, people will not be exhibited as inferior or superior in human dignity according to their sex, or as mere sexual objects, sexist stereotypes will be avoided and sexual diversification will be enhanced, gender roles and identities.
The prize categories will be:
BEST FILM AWARD_ Laboral Kutxa Bilbao Surf Film Festival, for best documentary
BEST SHORT FILM_ Laboral Kutxa Bilbao Surf Film Festival, for best short film
AUDIENCE AWARD_ Laboral Kutxa Bilbao Surf Film Festival, for best short or documentary decided by the spectators
Official Selection_ Laboral Kutxa Bilbao Surf Film Festival, for shorts and documentaries in the official selection contest.
LOCALS ONLY …… BILBAO SURF FILM FESTIVAL, award for the best work presented within the festival of filmmakers registered or born in the BASQUE COUNTRY.
EKINTZA KIROLAK (KIROL SESSIONS) …… BILBAO SURF FILM FESTIVAL, award for works that have nothing to do with surfing (Skate, nature, …).
