The Cultural Association Officina delle Idee intends to realize with the Patronage of the Municipality of Cittadella (PD), the Veneto Region and the Province of Padua the fifth edition of GEOFILMFESTIVAL - The Cinema of the Elements, "The Golden Earth" International Film Award, availing itself of the artistic direction of the director and actor Rocco Cosentino.

GEOFILMFESTIVAL wants to offer itself to all operators, filmmakers and the general public as competition and innovation for its theme: The Environment. Earth, Water, Fire, Air as objectives in the creation and production of medium-short films. So the Cinema of the Elements for which each of us is called to participate and make it a professional, social and moral goal.

The Cinema, once again, disseminator of news and civilization. Together with the cultural dissemination with the cinematographic projection, GEOFILMFESTIVAL - The Cinema of the Elements links its attention to the Environmental Problems of the World.

The Golden Heart

The organizational direction of the CittadellaGeofilmfestival prepares the following prizes for the awarded works:

-any additional prizes and out of competition section.

REGULATIONS AND
REGISTRATION FORM

Art. 1 Organizing Body

THE GOLDEN EARTH (International Cinematography Award) CittadellaGeoFilmFestival – Il Cinema degli Elementi is organized by the Cultural Association Officina delle Idee in collaboration with Passaparola Edizioni which has, among its goals, the promotion of visual and multimedia arts, together with the Municipality of Cittadella (PD) – Department of Culture, Veneto Region, which grant its Patronage. The Artistic Direction is curated by the director Rocco Cosentino.

Art. 2 - Location
The aforementioned Festival will take place in the Municipality of Cittadella (PD) Italy, and the official locations for the screenings will be the Cinecentrum cinema and the Torre di Malta auditorium and the Council Hall of Villa Rina. The locations may vary.

The Festival screenings will be held on the following dates: Opening Night Thursday 30 September 2026 at 8:45 pm at the Sala Consiliare Villa Rina.

The other dates will be determined as soon as possible.
awards Gala: Thursday 30 September 2027 at 8:45 pm at the Sala Cinematografica Cinecentrum. Date and location may be subject to change.

Art. 3 - Participation in the Festival
Admission to the Festival must be made official by sending the participation applications. The specific platforms on the festival website can be used: Festhome.com

Each author can present n. 01 (one) work that must be free from any copyright. Participation is not free and registration must be completed by August 1, 2026.
At the sole discretion of the Artistic Director, works called “Out of Competition” may also be admitted with a maximum number of 5 (five). The screening of these will take place during all the evenings of the scheduled calendar, in line with the programming times.

The prize relating to this section will be separate from those of the selections in competition. All works that contain explicit references to racial or religious discrimination of any kind and form, including the hypothesis of aversion to human rights, childhood and anything else not specifically mentioned and at the sole discretion of the Festival Jury, will be immediately excluded. In any case, they will be held criminally and civilly liable.

Art. 4 - Material to be sent by email:
The files must necessarily contain:
- The duly completed application form.
- Photocopy of the author's document.
- N. 01 copy of the film in Mp4 format or similar.
- N. 03 scene photos.
- n. 01 photo of the director, high definition, half-length format in elegant clothes, name and surname written at the bottom right of the photo.
- synopsis of the work
- biography of the director
- Any dialogue list in Italian.
- Poster of the film in A3 format in high resolution containing the title, name of the production, the director and the cast.

Art. 4/1 - Material to be sent by email:
The package must contain:
- The registration form duly completed.
- Photocopy of the author's document.
- N. 02 (two) copies of the film on DVD in PAL VIDEO FORMAT (if sent by mail)
- N. 01 (one) data CD-rom with scene photos (jpg), of the author, synopsis, bio-filmography. (if sent by mail)
- Any dialogue list in Italian.
- Poster of the film in A3 format in high resolution
The shipping is at the expense of the sender. The organization is not responsible for damage, loss or damage of the material during shipping. The copies will remain in the Archive of the Association.

Art. 5 - Works in competition
The works that can participate must have a maximum duration of 30 (thirty) minutes including opening and closing credits.

The theme of the Festival is the Environment and the four Elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water, Renewable Energy, Technological Innovations.

Short films in a foreign language, including the dialect form, must be subtitled in Italian or english. They must in any case be accompanied by a dialogue list in Italian.
The works must be original and free of copyright.

Art. 6 - Festival Jury
All the works that will be received will be submitted to the Organizing Committee for examination. The Competition provides that the works will be selected, for admission, by the Organizing Committee.
The Popular Jury of the Festival, composed of the audience present in the room, through their cell phones must use VotApp (free application) to evaluate the different films. A further additional unquestionable evaluation may be foreseen, also by the Organizing Committee.The vote is personal and will be revealed only at the end of the final screening evening.

It is possible, and in this case it would be final, that the Festival Jury could proclaim “ex aequo winners” of the special award Best non-finalist short with two or more directors-authors.

Art. 7 – awards

The Organizational Management of GEOFILMFESTIVAL provides the following categories for the assignment of the GOLDEN EARTH for the awarded works:

The GOLDEN EARTH Mention and the GOLDEN EARTH Special Jury Prize are provided for the same categories.

Art. 8 - Material received
All the material received (DVDs and data CDs) will be retained by the Association's board of directors who will become, in fact, owners of it. They reserve the right to promote the films on local, national and foreign television channels, organize meetings, debates and themed conferences with school children and the public in order to promote the authors and discuss social issues. All this must not have any cost for the organization and the municipal administration. The material will not be returned under any circumstances.

Art. 9 - Fees
For all the screenings planned by this Festival, including any on television or similar channels, rental fees cannot be requested.

Art. 10 - Incompatibility
No member of the Festival Jury, the organizing Association, the Artistic Direction and the Municipality of projection can participate, as a competitor, in the Festival. The only possible participation may be, upon specific invitation, with a work "Out of Competition".

Art. 11 - Data processing
Personal data will be used with the confidentiality required by current legislation and used exclusively for the conduct of the competition. The data, upon request, may be deleted or rectified.

The Festival Management, together with the Association's board of directors and the municipal administration reserve the right not to hold the Festival if there are reasons of public interest or specific needs that arise. The unsuitability of the film material received could also lead to such resolution. Only in this case, the material received will be returned at the organization's expense.

RULES

THE GOLDEN EARTH - International Film Award of the Cittadella GeoFilmFestival - The Cinema of the Elements Fourth Edition.

Art. 1 – Presentation
The competition, which intends to promote the specific artistic and communicative form of short cinema, is organized by the Cultural Association Officina delle Idee based in Cittadella (PD) in collaboration with Passaparola Edizioni and with the patronage of the Municipality of Cittadella (PD) – Department of Culture, Veneto Region and is aimed at national and international audiovisual productions with the specific participation linked to the presentation of short films.

All works may have already been published or be unpublished but, in any case, all free of copyright.

For all works not in Italian, including the dialect form, the condition is that they must be subtitled in Italian or english.

The Festival will be held from September 20, 2026 to September 24, 2027. The dates may be subject to change.

Art. 2 - deadlines
The material required for participation must be registered on the web platforms or sent no later than Agust 01, 2026. The postmark will be valid. There are no obligations regarding the type of shipment, which is left to the discretion of the participant. All shipping costs are the responsibility of the sender.

All works received, by hand or by mail, after August 1, 2026 will be considered void.

The Festival Organization is not responsible for damage or loss of the package during the postal or other journey.

Art. 3 - Conditions of participation
The short films must have a maximum duration of 30 (thirty) minutes including opening and closing credits. There is no limit on origin or type of original support.
The theme of the festival is the Environment and sustainability. Short films in a foreign language or in dialect must be titled in Italian or english and must send the dialog-list in Italian.

Art. 4 – Film support
The short films must be submitted on DVD in PAL VIDEO format or on a readable file.

Art. 5 Number of videos that can be entered
Each author may submit n. 01 (one) short film-work. All works that contain explicit references to racial or religious discrimination and any kind and form including the hypothesis of aversion to human rights, childhood and anything else not specifically mentioned and subject to the unquestionable verification of the Festival Jury will be immediately excluded. In any case, the Jury will be held criminally and civilly liable.

Art. 6 - Application for registration
The short film must be accompanied by the application for registration and the release form duly completed.
- Photo of the director/author (jpg - 300 dpi)
- Scene photo
- Synopsis, in .doc format in Italian or english
- Technical sheet of the film
- Author's biography
- Dialog-list in Italian if applicable
- Poster (jpg – 300 dpi)

The above material must be inserted in a data CD/DVD and attached to the package (if sent by post) or sent on readable files.

A photocopy of a valid document must be attached, as a facsimile, to the application form and the release.
Each author must comply with every request of the Festival regulations and in particular those relating to copyright.

Art. 7 - Shipping methods
The material must be sent through registration on the platforms of the reference site: http://www.metricacorto.altervista.org/regolamento-e-scheda-di-partecipazione-rules-and-entry-form.html or will be sent, at the participants' expense, by post exclusively to the following address with this indication:

Art. 8 - Pre-selection
The shorts will be selected by the Organizing Committee. The Jury's decision is final. The finalists will be contacted by email. The results of the selection will be published on the website www.metricacorto.altervista.org

Art. 9 - Festival Calendar
The Festival screenings will be held every last Thursday of the month starting from September 28, 2026. The location may be subject to change.

Art. 10 - awards
The Organizational Management sets up the following awards for the awarded works:

All awards will be given at the end of the screenings of the final evening. Any changes to the calendar will be communicated to the finalists.

The prizes are delivered directly to the winner, if present in the room or sent by post, upon payment of postage by the competitor.

Art. 11 – General information.
All news, information, programs, finalist works and everything related to the Festival will be published on the website www.metricacorto.altervista.org
The screening of any “OUT OF COMPETITION” works will take place on the evenings scheduled in the calendar.

All the works sent will not be returned and will remain the property of the Festival Archive of the Association. They may be used and distributed for promotional purposes without having to request any consent from the Author.

All points and articles of the regulation and the Notice are considered accepted, under penalty of exclusion from the competition itself.

The Festival may undergo changes or suspension by the organizers, if necessary.

Pursuant to law 196/03, sensitive data will be processed for the sole organizational purposes of the Festival and as provided for in the regulation of the same.

Cancellation may be requested with a specific request, as required by current legislation.

Registration to the Festival implies personal, civil and criminal liability of the participating author.
