CBFF – Vigo International Film Festival is an International Cinematographic event organized by the production and distribution company CityBlue Films. It will celebrate its 8th edition between December 9 and 14, 2024, in the city of Vigo, Spain.
OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSE
It is a cultural, social event and a meeting space between the public, creators, media professionals, and representatives of the film industry.
CBFF – Vigo International Film Festival has been created with the main objective of promoting culture through the promotion and dissemination of cinematographic works.
This Festival has been developed to support directors and producers by providing all filmmakers who wish, a space to disseminate and promote their work to the general public.
Being an audiovisual, cultural, artistic, industrial and educational platform, allowing the discovery of new talents and emerging films.
Cash Prizes: 1,600€
AWARDS
All Selected films in the official sections will receive a Certificate.
7 Prizes are awarded, and Special Mentions if the jury determines it is appropriate.
1. Jury Prize: Best Short Film, International
distribution for 1 year by CityBlue Films, valued at €1,600 and CityBlue Trophy. (All selected Short Films compete for this award).
2. Jury Prize: Best International Feature Film, CityBlue Trophy.
3. Jury Prize: Best Social Themed Feature Film or Short Film, CityBlue Trophy. (Based on the values of coexistence, tolerance, solidarity, respect, diversity and social cohesion).
4. Audience Award: Best Short Film Galicia, CityBlue Trophy.
5. Audience Award: Best Student Short Film, CityBlue Trophy.
6. Audience Award: Best Student Short Film Galicia, CityBlue Trophy.
7. Audience Award: Best Children's Short Film, CityBlue Trophy.
8. Special Mentions, Certificate
REGISTRATIONS
The call is aimed at directors and producers of all nationalities.
The registration period is open from may 5 to September 30, 2024.
Feature films of up to 120 minutes and Short Films of up to 30 minutes are accepted.
Feature films and short films completed from January 2022 can be registered.
Productions must be presented in the original language, but with subtitles in Spanish or Galician; if that's not the language of the movie.
Films cannot have been registered in previous editions of the festival.
You can register as many movies as you want.
Film registration has an Admission fee of 5 euros.
SELECTION
The organization of the CBFF – Vigo International Film Festival will make the OFFICIAL SELECTION public through social networks starting on November 15, 2024. The representatives of the films will also be notified by email.
A selection committee, made up of members of CityBlue Films and a jury made up of personalities from the cinematographic world, will be in charge of choosing the selected and awarded works.
If selected, the participant will NOT be able to withdraw their film once the selection has been made public by the Festival organizers. They also agree to send a quality copy for the screening until November 25, 2024.
The finalist films of each section will be exhibited in public sessions in the rooms arranged for this purpose, at the times and dates that appear in the official program of the CBFF – Vigo International Film Festival, as provided by its organization.
They will also be exhibited online through recognized platforms for the international public; with prior authorization from the legal person responsible for the work.
They will be selected:
8 feature films in the International section.
10 short films in the International section.
5 short films in the Galicia section
5 short films in the International Student section.
5 short films in the Galicia Student section.
5 short films in the Children's section.
LEGALITY
By registering, the participant declares that he or she is the owner of all the rights to the registered film, its sound and/or visual files, and exonerates CBFF – Vigo International Film Festival from any claim that third parties may make about the exhibition. public, the intellectual and/or patrimonial property of the work within the framework of the CBFF – International Film Festival in Vigo.
Participants who are OFFICIAL SELECTION accept for free; the reproduction and/or dissemination of fragments of their works, as well as trailers, posters or photos, for informational and/or promotional purposes related to the Festival.
During the celebration of the CBFF – International Film Festival in Vigo, the organization reserves the right to exhibit the films that are OFFICIAL SELECTION, free of charge at all festival venues, at no cost to the organization. It also undertakes not to exhibit the films that participate outside the Festival without notifying those responsible.
Participating in the Festival implies full acceptance of these rules and waiver of any legal claim. For any matter that does not appear in them, what is decided by the aforementioned Selection Committee will be
followed.
