The Oruro International Film Festival is headquartered in the city of Oruro (Plurinational State of Bolivia).

The city is known for its cultural and folkloric wealth, being the Oruro Carnival its greatest expression. This Carnival, which annually gathers thousands of national and international visitors, was declared in 2001 as "Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity" by UNESCO, thus recognizing the multicultural and religious value it expresses.

The Festival, whose eleventh edition will be held from October 17 to 24, 2025, aims to recognize and disseminate national and international cinematographic works that show strong artistic, aesthetic and human values.

The 11th Oruro International Film Festival (OFF) will take place from October 17 to 24, 2025 in the city of Oruro, Plurinational State of Bolivia.

REQUIREMENTS AND ELIGIBILITY

The Festival's calls are open to short and feature-length fiction, animation, documentary and experimental films from around the world.

All productions must have been completed after January 1, 2023.

Films must be submitted through the FESTHOME platform

Deadline: The producer who owns the rights must register the film in the Festival before August 7, 2025.

Registration through the Festival's official platforms will be considered a sworn statement and in it the film-maker declares that he or she knows and accepts these regulations.

Producers and filmmakers of Bolivian nationality may register their work free of charge.

No film will be officially registered until the Festival receives the online pre-selection copy.

In the case of films spoken in a language other than Spanish, pre-selection copies will be received with Spanish (preferably) or English subtitles.

Once the film has been selected, it cannot be withdrawn from the Festival's programming, nor can it be shown in any other area of ​​Bolivia before its official presentation at our Festival.

Premiere Status
For feature films in competition, the Festival only accepts films that are presented as Premieres in the Plurinational State of Bolivia.

Any foreign film that has been publicly shown in cinemas, on television, streaming or at festivals in Bolivia before the start of the Oruro International Film Festival will not be able to participate in the feature film competitions.

The Festival DOES NOT REQUIRE any premiere status among the short films.

SECTIONS

The Festival's programming will include competitive and non-competitive sections. The programmed films will be included in the section that the selection committee considers appropriate.

The length of the film will be taken into account for the selection: The festival considers a feature film to be at least 40 minutes long and a short film to be no longer than 39 minutes long.

The Festival will include three competitive sections:

-International Short Film Competition: Fiction, animation, documentary and experimental films from both national and international countries with a length of 39 minutes or less are accepted.

-International Feature Film Competition: Fiction, animation, documentary and experimental films from both national and international countries with a length of 40 minutes or more are accepted.

-Bolivian Feature Film Competition: Fiction, animation, documentary and experimental films made by Bolivian filmmakers and/or producers with a length of 40 minutes or more are accepted.

*The selection committee may modify the structure of the Festival but always awarding the 3 main awards: Best International Feature Film, Best Bolivian Feature Film, Best International Short Film.

SELECTION

The Selection Committee will be made up of OFF members, who will carry out their work according to the quality and creativity parameters previously established by the Festival Management.

Screening copies will be sent via the Internet. The deadline for receiving these copies will be September 17, 2025.

If the film is selected, the person who registered will be notified and informed about the instructions for sending the screening copy through the Festival's official platforms.

Next to the screener, the selected participants must upload the following materials to our official platforms:
-2 (two) film stills, 300 DPI. Size 10cm high by 15cm wide color. JPG format
-1 (one) photo of the director / s, 300 DPI. Size 10cm high by 10cm wide color. JPG format
-Bilofilmografía of the director maximum 450 characters with spaces. In the following format, NAME, + 450 characters
-Sinopsis of the film maximum 600 characters with spaces.

SUBTITLE

In the case of the selected films that are spoken in a language other than Spanish, the producers will have the responsibility to provide the organization with a copy with embedded Spanish subtitles or provide us with a .srt file with the Spanish subtitles with their respective time code. Projection copy and subtitles must be synchronized.

FINAL CLAUSES

The organization of the festival presupposes that the producers or directors who register through this call have the rights of exhibition of their works, being exempted the OFF of any civil or criminal liability.

The people linked to the selected films commit themselves not to broadcast their participation until the Festival's programming is announced by the Organization at a press conference.

Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of these regulations. Any conflict (organization or operation) not foreseen in these regulations will be resolved by the organization of the Festival.

The presentation of the films implies the total acceptance of these bases. The interpretation and application of the same corresponds to the organization of the OFF.



  Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
