Festival start: 30 November 2025      Festival end: 04 December 2025

The FICGO is an annual cultural event in the Gulf of Morrosquillo, Colombia, that promotes free, open-air cinema. It offers a varied program of films, workshops, and environmental activities for diverse audiences in San Onofre, Tolú, Coveñas, and smaller towns like Berrugas and Rincón del Mar.

This year, we will celebrate the fifth edition from November 30 to December 4, 2025, with spaces designed to strengthen emerging local talents and the audiovisual sector in the department of Sucre and the region, highlighting the unique narratives of the Colombian Caribbean.

Regata de Colombia:

Award for Best National Fiction Short Film.

This handcrafted statuette is uniquely made from wood and recycled remnants of boat sails from the Gulf of Morrosquillo. It's a one-of-a-kind piece with significant cultural value, engraved with the winning short film's name, and pays tribute to the vibrant "sea butterflies" (likely a local term for a type of marine life or a visual metaphor related to colorful sails).

Award for Best National Documentary Short Film.

Considerations
No Colombian premiere is required to participate in any section. Short films may have had public exhibition in Colombia or other countries as part of their festival circuit and independent distribution.

The festival organization reserves the right to examine special situations and to include the "Regata de Colombia" and "Muestra - Cine Coco" short film sections as part of the competitive categories.

Colombian short films are defined as those that meet the required percentages of national economic, technical, and artistic participation, as established by Colombian cinematographic legislation.

The Official Selection for the competitions will be announced through social media and the website (www.ficgofestival.com) in early October 2025.

Submission Requirements
Submissions must be made exclusively through the Festhome platform between June 30 and September 1, 2025.

All sections will be free of charge from the opening date to the closing date of the call for entries.

No submissions will be accepted outside of the Festhome platform, or exhibition copies for the pre-selection process on DVD, Blu-ray, or other physical media, without exception.

Short films exhibited in previous editions of the International Film Festival Golfo de Morrosquillo (FICGO) will not be accepted.

The same filmmaker, producer, or distributor may submit more than one short film, provided it meets the requirements of the competitive section.

Submitted short films must be spoken in Spanish, dubbed into Spanish, or be without dialogue.

Selected short films must send their final exhibition copies in H264 - MP4 format - Full HD resolution (1920x1080). Bitrate: 5 Mbps to 10 Mbps. Maximum file size: 5GB.
