The Golfo de Morrosquillo International Film Festival (FICGO) is a platform for showcasing, training, and promoting audiovisual experiences throughout the region. Through a diverse program of films, workshops, and activities, the festival travels to the municipalities of Coveñas, Santiago de Tolú, San Onofre, and the districts of Berrugas and Rincón del Mar in Sucre. FICGO serves as a cultural gathering that strengthens emerging local talent and celebrates the unique narratives of the Caribbean.

Regata de Colombia:

The Best National Short Film will be awarded a handcrafted trophy. Made from wood and recycled marine debris from the Golfo de Morrosquillo, the statuette is a unique piece that celebrates the region's maritime heritage and promotes sustainability.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS


Regata de Colombia:

Only Colombian productions directed by Colombian directors, completed or premiered after January 1, 2022, with a minimum duration of 7 minutes and a maximum of 20 minutes for Fiction and/or Documentary genres, may participate in this category.

Muestra - Cine Coco:

Short films of fiction, documentary, or children's animation from any country in the world with a minimum duration of 5 minutes and a maximum of 15 minutes, spoken in Spanish or dubbed into Spanish or without dialogue, may be registered in this category.

Muestra - Cine Sucreño:

Short films of fiction, documentary, or animation produced in the department of Sucre, Colombia, with a minimum duration of 5 minutes and a maximum of 20 minutes, spoken in Spanish or without dialogue, may be registered in this category.

CONSIDERATIONS

Participation in any of the sections does not require a premiere in Colombia. Short films may have been publicly screened in Colombian territory or in other countries as part of their festival circuit and independent distribution.

The festival organization has the authority to examine special situations and to include the short film sections Regata de Colombia and Muestra - Cine Coco as part of the competitive categories.

Colombian short films are understood to be those that, according to Colombian film legislation, have the required percentages of national economic, technical, and artistic participation.

The Official Selection of the competitions will be announced through social networks and the website (www.ficgofestival.com) at the beginning of October 2024.

Registration Requirements

Registration must be done exclusively through the Festhome platform between August 2 and September 2, 2024.

All sections will be free of charge from the opening date to the closing date of the call for entries.

No registrations will be accepted outside the Festhome platform, or screening copies for the pre-selection process on DVD, Blu-ray, or other physical media, without exception.

Short films screened in previous editions of the Golfo de Morrosquillo International Film Festival FICGO will not be accepted.

The same filmmaker, producer, or distributor may register more than one short film as long as it meets the requirements of the competitive section.

Registered short films must be spoken in Spanish, dubbed into Spanish, or without dialogue.

Selected short films must send their final screening copies in H264 - MP4 format - Full HD resolution (1920x1080). Bitrate: 5 Mbps to 10 Mbps. Maximum file size: 5GB.

Promotional Materials during FICGO:

Selected short films will be requested to send the following information via a form or email using storage platforms such as WeTransfer or Drive:

- Minimum 5 images (Stills) of the short film in a minimum resolution of 300 DPI, TIFF or JPG format.

- Poster of the short film in a minimum resolution of 300 DPI, TIFF or JPG format.

- Trailer of the short film or fragment of the work.

- Text document (Word - NOT PDF) with: Short synopsis (in - -- Spanish and english).

- Technical sheet: (Country, year of production, duration).

- Links to the short film's or filmmakers' social networks (if applicable).

- Name and email of contact person.

- City or municipality of origin
