The 6th edition of the KOMANE Festival of Cameroonian medium-length film will take place from February 6 to 8, 2020, under the theme: "IS CINEMA CONSIDERED AS A MAJOR ELEMENT MOJAR ELEMENT OF PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT?"

It is organized by the Association of Young Actors of Cameroonian Cinema (AJACC), in collaboration with KOMANE FILMS, whose General Delegate are Martial KOUAMO NKENGNE: film director and screenwriter and the Delegate for the Diaspora Dr. Armand NGHEMKAP, emergency physician and man of culture.

The KOMANE festival takes place in the city of Dschang. Screenings take place in the partner theaters. Some screenings are also organized in schools (colleges, high schools, and universities) and in the public spaces of the MENOUA department for the rapprochement towards the young public, in addition to the workshops of training and radio conferences broadcast.

The 6th edition of KOMANE aims to promote the distribution of medium-length films, to discover several films out of competition, the detection of talents of the seventh art, to create an annual platform for exchange between Cameroonian filmmakers. here and the diaspora, to offer programs for our
televisions, to open our businesses to commercials close to the company left to account, and to promote a better knowledge of the cultural and tourist heritage of Cameroon.

1. Programming

KOMANE will propose:

• Films in competition: medium-length films of fiction, animation or documentary intended for cinema or television, lasting between 01 and 52 minutes maximum, contributing to:

The special jury prize, the prize foreign film, the surprise prize, the prize for the best animated film, the prize for the best actor, the best actress award, the best documentary award, the best film award, For the 6th edition, we will add: the Best Screenplay Award.

• Out-of-competition films: long, medium and short films, can be selected out of competition to show the plurality of cultures from the four corners of the world. The Festival reserves the right to present films that do not fall under these headings.

2. Conditions of registration for the Festival:

Only those films fulfilling the following conditions may be entered in the competition:

-movie length of between 01 and 52 minutes maximum, completed after January 1st, 2018.

-in original version: French language. Films in English or shot in other languages, must be subtitled or translated into French.

The signed registration form is binding and must be returned to the KOMANE Festival no later than December 31, 2019 by bearer parcel, by an internet link (wetransfert), or through the courier service of a travel agency who is doing the Dschang line, along with a DVD viewing copy. Report your complete file submission by phone.

3. Information

Each will be informed by mail (postal or electronic), SMS or phone call of his selection or non-selection. As soon as this information is available, copyright holders agree not to withdraw their film from the program.

4. Terms of sending movies

• For preselection:

The films will have to be sent via Festhome or by parcel carried, by an internet link (wetransfert), or through the mail service of a travel agency which makes the line of Dschang, accompanied by two copies of viewing on DVD. Report your complete file submission by phone. In accordance with the arrangements provided for in Article 3 of this
regulation.

• If the movie is selected:

-For DVD copies: The projection copy must arrive at the Festival office before January 15, 2020. The costs of sending the copy are the responsibility of the sender.

- For other media, the copies must be sent directly to the address of KOMANE: the organizers only accept copies in perfect projection state. On each box of each copy, must be mentioned: the title of the film, the name, the address, the phone number of the sender, the technical characteristics projection and duration. The copies of the films out of competition will be immobilized in the video library of KOMANE.

5: Archiving and consultation

In order to set up a video library of all selected films, KOMANE carries out a mission of archiving the films submitted to it. Strong of this, the participation in KOMANE implies the authorization, for the benefit of KOMANE, free of charge, to realize the free, free and individual consultation of the films of the video library and this for a period of 10 years renewable by tacit agreement. Videograms thus preserved can also, if necessary and for better preservation, be transferred to new media, current or future (digital and other).

6. Broadcasting rights:

The films in competition are diffused without right of projection, in a strictly cultural and non-commercial frame.

7. Insurance / Transport

Insurance costs for all copy transit operations are the only way charge of the movie owner. The organizers of KOMANE bear the insurance costs between the receipt of copies by KOMANE and their storage at the video library. In the event of loss or deterioration during this period.
The organizers are only liable for the replacement value of the copy.

8. Presence of the directors

KOMANE may take care of the accommodation of the director or a third party (producer, actor, technician ...) for the films in competition, and his special guests within the limits of the funds allocated for this purpose: provided that the request is made on time. The invited directors may be invited to participate in meetings with the public after the school screenings, in the departmental institutions, followed by debates with students, panel discussions with other film professionals, training workshops, and radio and television programs.

9. Media and television

The rights holders of the films transfer to KOMANE without compensation the right of reproduction of the photographs or extracts TV of their films (less than 3 minutes for the feature films, 10% maximum of the duration of the film for the short and medium-sized films) for diffusion in KOMANE publications, in the press, on the net and on radio and television antennas.

10. Miscellaneous:

Festival KOMANE is the only one authorized to settle the cases not envisaged by the present
regulation.

11. Acceptance of the Regulation

The application for registration signed to participate in KOMANE implies the unconditional acceptance of these rules.
