The IXTAR CURTS Short Film Showcase of the Festes de Sant Bartomeu is the oldest in the Balearic Islands.

The IXTAR CURTS Short Film Showcase of the Sant Bartomeu Festivities, the oldest one in the Balearic Islands, continues to present the Audience Award and the Jury Award for Best Short Film.

AUDIENCE AWARD: presented by the Sant Antoni de Portmany Town Council to the short film receiving the highest number of votes from the attending audience.

JURY AWARD: presented by the IXTAR CURTS organization through its jury to the short film that best demonstrates the use of cinematic techniques such as cinematography, screenwriting, directing actors, editing, etc.

The awards do not carry any monetary prize.

RULES FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE
IXTAR CURTS SHORT FILM SHOWCASE
SANT BARTOMEU FESTIVITIES 2026
SAN ANTONI DE PORTMANY, IBIZA

1. The maximum running time of the works submitted to the competition may not exceed 12 minutes, including end credits, and they must have been completed after January 1, 2025.

2. Premiere status at the Showcase is not mandatory, but works that have participated in previous editions of the Showcase will not be accepted.

3. The organization is not responsible for any improper use of copyright in the short films (music, images, etc.). Responsibility lies exclusively with the authors of the short films. Works in which artificial intelligence has participated in any part of the filmmaking process will not be accepted.

4. Several works by the same director may be submitted, but only one of them may be selected for the competition. (Only in cases of low participation may several short films by the same director be allowed.) A director may also participate in another short film as a co-director.

5. The accepted languages for the short films are Catalan and Spanish. If the original language is different, the film must include subtitles in Catalan or Spanish.

6. The following awards are established:

JURY AWARD: presented by the IXTAR CURTS organization through its jury to the short film that best demonstrates the use of cinematic techniques such as cinematography, screenwriting, directing actors, editing, etc.

7. The awards may be cumulative and may also be declared void if none of the submitted works meets the minimum standards required by the organization.

8. In order to participate, it is mandatory to submit, together with the short film entered in competition, a technical information sheet including:

Title of the short film
Full name of the director
City and country of production
Contact telephone number and email address
Running time
Brief synopsis (MANDATORY)
Trailer

It must also be stated whether or not authorization is granted to IXTAR CURTS to publish a link to the short film (once the Showcase has ended) and a trailer on the organization’s website, as well as on its social media channels.

A poster image of the short film and between 2 and 4 stills from the film must also be submitted (MANDATORY).
