Rural Action Film Festival will show local and international documentary, fiction, comedy, and animation cinema in short format films all related to the rural world, climate action, ecology, sustainability, natural and cultural resources.

Winner Laurel for best overall film, as voted by the audience.

Selected Laurel for selected films.

All submissions must be in MP4 format.

The closing date for submissions 10th July 2026

Submission Fee: All submission fees are to be paid through the film submission platforms.

Submission fees are non-refundable.

Our festival is free entry so there should be little or no fee.

Selection of Films: We will accept films that have screened at other festivals.

Submissions are reviewed by a panel of judges and selected under the following criteria:

Rural & climate action themed.

Quality of narrative and production values.

Independent nature of the production.

Notification: Raff endeavours to complete the selection procedure by 7th August and inform all submitting parties if their film has been accepted after that time.

All films submitted must be from the sole owners (or their agent) of the copywrite to the film.

All foreign language films must have English subtitles.
Festival Screenings - Selected films only.

RAFF aspires to provide quality projection where possible but will not be held liable for any failure in the technical quality of the projection during screenings, RAFF assumes that the submitting party or film maker(s) has checked the submission.

Scheduling - Selected films only

Screenings are scheduled at the discretion of RAFF.

Every effort will be made to adhere to the published schedule however RAFF reserves the right to make changes at any time for any reason. RAFF will not be liable for any change in schedule and the event may even be cancelled due to any unforseen restrictions, etc.

Promotion - Selected films only.: Selected films must acknowledge that RAFF reserves the right to promote the films using mostly images but also the video that you provide where possible.
