Settimo Short Film Festival Tenth Edition. Organized by Pro Loco Settimo Milanese with Association Semeion Teatro, Auditorium Settimo Milanese, in partnership with Fedic and under the patronage of the City of Settimo Milanese.

Settimo Short Film Festival discovers and supports new talent in independent cinema, connecting them with a wider audience. Through the magic of the big screen, we showcase the filmmakers of tomorrow. It’s an opportunity to bring together talent from around the world and make this art form—with its immense potential—more approachable and accessible. Each evening, the audience takes center stage by selecting the winners of major awards.

The festival will take place on May 7 and 8, 2026 at the Anna Marchesini film theater, via Grandi 12 Settimo Milanese.

SSFF 2026-2027 CALL FOR ENTRIES
Eligible works must be no longer than 15 minutes in length (credits included) ) and may be fiction, documentary, or animated films produced in 2026 and 2027. Short films must not, under penalty of exclusion, contain any advertising or promotional messages.

● For the main section there is no specific theme.

● The Young Directors section is open to filmmakers who are 30 years of age or younger as of the application deadline. In the case of a collaborative work, all filmmakers must meet the age requirement.

For both the main section and the Young Directors section, each filmmaker may submit only one work. If the same author submits multiple entries, the committee reserves the right to consider only the first one received as valid.

Film selection will be a final decision of our jury and accepted by all. If no entries deemed worthy by the technical jury are submitted, the Young Directors Award will not be presented. The jury can exclude any vulgar or offensive work or in contrast with this regulation.

● A 10 € registration fee is required for the main section. A 5 € registration fee is required for the Young Directors section.

If you are a distrubutor , please contact us before submitting.. Please pay the entry fee through Festhome. The entrance fee cannot be refunded in any case.

● Selected works will be judged by a Popular Jury and a Technical Jury. The Popular jury will be the audience at the screenings.

We recommend that you also enclose the poster of the films submitted.

Non-Italian works have to provide english or Italian subtitles, not hardcoded (.srt format)

The organization is committed to using short films exclusively in cultural events with your permission.

Every author guarantees that his work does not violate any copyright laws and is the only responsible in case of any claim. Short films Directors or Producers of are responsible for their works and they declare with the entry to have fulfilled any obligations towards anyone has author rights in accordance with your state laws.

The organization is authorized to use and screen short films free of charge, both those selected for the competition and those not selected but received, as part of related cultural initiatives, in the year of the edition in which they participated, or in subsequent ones. However, the organization undertakes to request an official release from the director / author in the weeks prior to the screening. This is a nonprofit initiative. It is unequivocally stated that the author retains exclusive rights to his or her work, and the work will not be used under any circumstances for purposes outside the scope of these rules.
