Born in 2008 on the Cultural Free Theatre in the town of Telese Terme (BN) initiative, the most important center of the entire Telese Valley which originates from the ancient Samnite-Roman city Telesia, the ArTelesia Film Festival arrived in 2014 in its seventh edition it characterized as the most important film event in the area and one of the most important of Campania. The ArTelesia Film Festival, directed to combine cinema and territory, is an International Competition ascertained cultural and social value: cultural as it makes the film pedagogical tool, designed to train the younger generation; social for the special "Section DiVabili" dedicated to cinema made by directors and actors with disabilities or treat the disability.

The Festival is proud of the collaboration of the Foundation "Gender Identity Culture" (GIC), the synapses of the University Center of the University Federico II of Naples, the patronage and financial support from the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and Tourism Activities, the Region Campania, the Province of Benevento, EPT Benevento, the Chamber of Commerce of Benevento and the Moral of the Patronage of the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of 'Education, University and Research, dell' UNAR - Office National racial Discrimination, the Campania Region Film Commission, Arcigay Naples, University of Sannio, the University Suor Orsola Benincasa of Naples, University of Salerno, University UCAM San Antonio de Murcia (Spain), the City of Telese Terme, the City of Benevento. Bocci, Massimo Wertmuller, Maurizio Gemma, Francesco Paolantoni, Sebastiano Somma, Maurizio Casagrande, Emilio Solfrizzi, Christiane Filangieri, Anita Zagaria, Sabrina Paravicini, Pine Quartullo, Ernesto Lama, Fioretta Mari, Sergio Fiorentini, Lucia Batassa, Gabriele Rossi, Sergio Assisi, Andrea Bosca, Antonella Stefanucci, Alessandro Borghi, Riccardo Zinna, Denny Mendez ...

Over the years they were awarded short films and feature films of high quality from different parts of the world, in an event which recorded a turnout and favor a growing part of the public as to draw the attention of the media, press, web tv and local radio, and in particular the intervention of RAI 3 on site.

The Festival is also characterized by a series of side events such as the organization of internships, conferences and meetings between directors, actors and industry experts, students who decide to approach the world of cinema and enthusiasts, exhibitions of art by artists Campania and national, spaces dedicated to the promotion of tourism and land resources with the presence of qualified companies sannite.

The Social Film Festival Artelesia is organized by the non-profit Cultural Association “Libero Teatro”, established in 2005. The event avails itself of the support of the Ministero dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali e del turismo, of the Campania Region and of the patronage of the Comune of Benevento, the Presidenza del Consiglio dei ministri, the Ministero del Lavoro, the Ministero dell’Istruzione, Università e Ricerca, the UNAR - National Anti- Discrimination Office, the Provincia of Benevento, the Chamber of Commerce of Benevento, the Center of the University Sinapsi of the University Federico II of Naples, of the University of Sannio, of the Suor Orsola Benincasa University of Naples, of the University of Salerno, of the UCAM University of San Antonio de Murcia (Spain), and the adhesion of the Film Commission Campania Region. Students of the aforementioned universities will participate in the organization of the XII edition as Interns. The Festival, born twelve years ago as a short film competition, in its evolution has become a showcase for the promotion of films of social and cultural interest belonging to the independent and non-cinema circuit. An ideal place for lively comparisons between producers, authors and distributors, but also between the production universe and the relevant public, the Festival promotes the knowledge and dissemination of products of high artistic value, able to contribute to cultural growth and the formation of a mature critical conscience in young people.


The Social Film Festival ArTelesia intends to promote cinematography both in Italy and abroad, with particular attention to issues of social and civil commitment.


- I BELONG TO ME: respect for one's own individuality, knowing how to be beyond all appearances, cultivating one’s freedom against all dependencies

- INTEGRATION: respect for ethnic and cultural identity against all forms of discrimination



- Filmmaker: emerging and professional directors, production and distribution companies

- DiVabili: works created by directors with disabilities or involving disabled actors that do not necessarily have to focus on the topic of disability


Sannio (works that contribute to enhancing the territory in its entirety)

- Web series of the year


Are allowed to participate to the competition:

- Films with a minimum duration of 50 minutes

- Short films with a maximum duration of 20 minutes, including opening and closing credits

- Spots with a maximum duration of 120 seconds, including the opening and closing credits


The registration of the works in the competition is free. The works can be sent by uploading them on an internet platform (preferably Vimeo) and sending the link to the following e-mail address: with the following wording in the subject of the e-mail: “Section - Title of the work”. It is advisable to keep the vision private and to indicate the access password. In the aforementioned e-mail you must attach the registration form completed in its entirety and duly signed by the referent, by the author of the work or by the director. Works presented and/or awarded in other competitions are also admitted. Works carried out before 2019 are not allowed. All the must be subtitled or translated into Italian. Each author can also participate with more than one work.

The deadline for sending the works will follow the following time scan:

Autumn session: no later than December 15th 2019 for the works realized in the year 2019

Spring session: no later than April 15th 2020 for the works carried out from December 2019 to April 2020


The works received will be preselected by a Technical Jury, a Young Jury and a Popular Jury. The finalist works will be evaluated only by a Technical Jury. The list of winners will be published on the website . The winners will be contacted by the organizers.

Each author declares to be the holder of all the rights of the work; ensures that the contents of the same are in its availability and do not violate the laws or regulations in force or the rights of third parties and in particular the right of author, right to the image, distinctive signs, patent for industrial inventions. It also assures and declares that the work does not contain defamatory content. In any case, the author raises the organization from all responsibilities, costs, charges and expenses of any kind that may be incurred due to the content of the work and its public display. The participants in the competition, by registering, authorize the organizing association of the competition to process personal data and to use their name and address for all the uses connected to the event in accordance with current legislation. All the works will become part of the Festival Archive. The work s can be screened for didactic - cultural and informative purposes, not for profit, without any compensation for the authors, who will always be mentioned. The winners and the winners must personally collect the awards. Free hospitality is provided for those residing over 100 km from Benevento. Sending the entry form, completed and signed, implies acceptance of these Regulations. The organizing committee reserves the right to make changes to this call for technical and organizational requirements.
