The “Teror Film Fest” festival is establishing itself on the Canary Islands scene with a “TERRIFYING” cultural offering, dedicated exclusively to horror films.

TIFF Competition Rules
1- The short film must be in the horror genre and have been produced on or after January 1, 2024, to be eligible for the official selection. It must not have been commercially released in theaters, on video, television, or VOD platforms.

2- Submitted short films must have a minimum running time of 10 minutes and a maximum of 30 minutes, including credits.

3- Each participant may only submit one audiovisual work.

4- To participate in TIFF 2026, registration and completion of the entry form are mandatory. Submissions must be made exclusively through festhome.com.

5- The short film must have a minimum resolution of 1920x1080 and stereo sound.

6. The registration period will begin in April 2026 and will run until September 1, 2026. The list of selected films will be published on September 15.

7. The selection of short films for competition will be solely at the discretion of the festival's management.

8. The invitation to each film selected by the Festival's selection committee will be strictly confidential between the Festival's management and the producers or representatives of the invited film until the Festival decides to officially announce it. Once the selection of an audiovisual work has been communicated by the Festival and its participation has been confirmed by the production/distribution company that submitted it, it cannot be withdrawn.

9. The festival reserves the right to select films for screening from all submitted short films. Therefore, the screening of every short film is subject to this prior selection process and its exhibition is not guaranteed simply by being submitted.

10- Selected short films will be required to submit a high-resolution projection copy. The Festival reserves the right to reject copies that, after the necessary technical checks, are deemed unsuitable for projection. In such cases, a technical report will be provided to the film's representatives, and a new copy will be requested. Failure to submit the new copy by October 1st will result in the film's disqualification.

11- All projection copies of selected short films must be submitted in their original language. Films whose original language is not Spanish (in whole or in part) must include Spanish subtitles. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the disqualification of the selected film.

12- Selected short films will be required to submit a promotional poster for the film, at least A4 size.

13- The Festival reserves the right to refuse entry to any works that do not meet the aforementioned requirements and/or whose content is deemed unsuitable for participation in the competition.

14. The Jury's final decision will be announced at the awards ceremony on October 31st. The Jury may declare an award void if it deems it appropriate. The Jury's decision is final.

15. The signatory of the audiovisual work registration application declares that they hold the rights of reproduction, public communication, dissemination, and exhibition for its commercial exploitation and peaceful participation in the Festival, releasing the organization from any liability arising from the falsity, inaccuracy, or non-compliance with said obligation, and agreeing to be liable to the organization for any damages that any of these situations may cause. Likewise, the signatory of the application expressly declares that they possess all the necessary licenses, authorizations, and administrative permits for the peaceful participation of the audiovisual work in the Festival, observing and committing to observe all required administrative formalities in accordance with applicable regulations. The organization will recognize the signatory of the registration application as the sole point of contact for negotiating all aspects related to the participation of the audiovisual work in the Festival and as the sole party responsible to any other companies or individuals who may have participated in the film's production.

16- The director or producer of the short film agrees to obtain all exploitation rights for the work submitted to the competition, as well as the assignment of rights from the authors (director, cinematographer, screenwriter, and composer) and the assignment of image rights for the performers. This guarantees ownership of all rights to the short film and releases the festival organization from any liability. The organization is not responsible for any copyright infringements that may occur in the submitted works.

17- The organization is not responsible for the opinions and/or actions depicted in the short films.

18- Participants grant the festival organizers the rights to screen their work at the festival. During the festival, no film entered in any section may be screened more than three times, including press screenings. In this regard, production companies will grant the festival the rights for public exhibition during the festival at no cost to the festival and will be exempt from exhibition fees. For any additional screenings, the festival must obtain prior written authorization from the producer or, failing that, their designated representative.

19- The data provided by applicants will be stored in a file belonging to the TEROR FILM FEST. This data may be shared with other companies for promotional and processing purposes. You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, and objection by sending a written request, including the reference “data protection,” along with a photocopy of your ID, to TEROR FILM FEST at tenorfilmfest@gmail.com.

20. TEROR FILM FEST and the organizing entities are exempt from any liability should the event be suspended.

21. Submitting an audiovisual work to the competition implies full acceptance of and compliance with these Participation Rules and any annexes.

22. Participation in the Festival allows participants to include the Festival logo in the title of their audiovisual works. This logo and text may also be included in all print and online media, and this participation may be expressly mentioned in any audiovisual materials that advertise the short film before or during the Festival. For instructions on the correct placement of the logo, which may not be altered or adapted under any circumstances, please consult the organizers.

23. The Festival Management will appoint the juries for the different competition sections, whose decisions will be final and will not require justification. Individuals with interests in the production, distribution, or any other type of exploitation of or participation in the audiovisual works selected for competition may not serve on the juries of the different competition sections. The prize may not be awarded jointly. The juries of the different competition sections agree not to publicly express their opinions on the audiovisual works for which they are to render their decisions.

24. The Festival Management may be present, with voice but without vote, in the deliberations and communications of the different juries.

25. The organization reserves the right to modify any point of these rules or cancel the competition if circumstances so require.
