XXVI MOSTRA INTERNACIONAL DE CURTAMETRAXES VILA DE NOIA
The XXVI Mostra Internacional de Curtametraxes Vila de Noia extends the submission deadline and publishes the official regulations for this year’s edition.
The Mostra Internacional de Curtametraxes Vila de Noia announces the extension of the short film submission deadline until 2:00 p.m. on September 15, 2025.
This decision was made after considering the feedback received from several distributors, directors, and film industry professionals regarding the regulations published on June 15. Those rules introduced substantial changes compared to previous editions, and given that they were implemented late in the year, they risked limiting the participation of many filmmakers who usually adapt their works to the traditional criteria of the Mostra.
Consequently, the organization has published the official and definitive regulations for the XXVI edition, returning to the historical framework of the festival. These rules ensure a stable, transparent, and respectful regulatory environment for the filmmaking community.
With this measure, the Mostra Internacional de Curtametraxes Vila de Noia reaffirms its commitment to professionalism, transparency, and the promotion of audiovisual creation, guaranteeing the conditions necessary to maintain the trust of participants, distributors, and the general public.

3. SELECTION
The organization reserves the right to select the works that will be part of the Mostra.
Winners from collaborating festivals will gain direct access to the Official Section.
The Selection Committee will evaluate each short film as a whole, focusing on the strength of the idea, originality of the proposal, and how it is conveyed through script and narrative. Direction and execution will also be considered, as well as the naturalness and credibility of performances.
Special attention will be paid to editing and rhythm, essential for maintaining coherence and viewer engagement, in addition to cinematography and overall technical quality. Above all, the committee will value the filmmaker’s personal stamp, that unique way of storytelling that makes a work stand out and possess its own identity in the world of short film.
The selection will be communicated through the submission platforms, the official website, and the Mostra’s social media.
Incentives for selected films:
The organization will invite two members of the technical or artistic team of each selected work.
