GENERAL RULES OFFICIAL SECTION FOR COMPETITION

PARTICIPANTS

Participation is open to all film producers and directors who present their short films of national or international production.


CHARACTERISTICS OF AUDIOVISUAL WORKS

Feature films: fiction, animation or documentary with a duration greater than 60 minutes.

Short films: fiction, animation or documentary with a duration of less than 30 minutes.

The works must be presented in the original version (with subtitles in Spanish if applicable). Those works that, filmed in other languages, are not sent with subtitles in Spanish will be excluded.

They must be produced after January 1, 2023. Each author may participate with a maximum of one work. The authors will be responsible for the rights to their works.


DATES AND PLACE

The contest will take place from March 7, 2025 to March 29, 2025

All the activities and screenings of the contest will be held at the "Pintor Fausto Velázquez" Cultural Center in La Algaba (Seville).

SELECTION PROCESS. REGISTRATION AND SENDING COPIES FOR THE PRESELECTION PROCESS

The project that wishes to take part in this call must be submitted between December 4, 2024 and February 25, 2025.

Registration can be done through the Festhome platform.

Feature film projects will have a registration fee of 5 euros.

Short film projects will have a registration fee of 2 euros.

The communication of the selected projects will be carried out in the week of February 28, 2025. Nothing can be published or communicated in any media until the organization makes public the official list of selected projects. Failure to comply may result in the elimination of the project from the selection.

Screening copies will be requested along with the corresponding promotional materials in the communication email if selected.



SELECTION AND JURY COMMITTEE

Among the applications for participation, a Selection Committee, which will be made up of technical staff from the Contest, will designate the works that will compete in the Official Competition Section.

The Official Jury, composed of at least three members, from among professionals of recognized prestige in the different sectors of the world of cinema, will decide the final winners. Their decisions will be final.

REGARDING RIGHTS

Participants must hold the rights of distribution and dissemination of the work (and accredit them if required, including the soundtrack and the image rights of the people who appear in it, exempting the organization of the contest from any responsibility derived from third party claims in this regard.

The award-winning short films with a financial award will transfer, without exclusive rights, the right to use the work for advertising purposes of the contest.


PUBLIC AWARD

The audience in attendance will award, through their vote, the Audience Award for Best Feature Film and Best Short Film.

*The corresponding withholding of the Tax Agency will be made from this amount.

The beneficiaries of the prizes must comply with the provisions of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies, and must be up to date with all tax obligations and Social Security.


WRITTEN REFERENCE OF THE PRIZES AWARDED

The short films selected and awarded with any of the Contest Prizes will include a written reference at the beginning of all copies of the same that are distributed for exhibition in commercial theaters and/or in other audiovisual contests, as well as in all informative material. Said reference will consist of a text with the type of prize awarded or the selection for the competition, invariably accompanied by the corporate image (logo and name) of the "Igualgaba" Film Contest, which will be provided by the Organization of the same.


ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES

The registration of any work in the "Igualgaba" Film Contest implies the acceptance of these Rules, as well as the resolution by the Organization of any problem not included in them.
