From the FCIA 1503 Film Festival we are happy to tell you that we are going to start our first edition in the great Villa de Aranda de Duero (Burgos), giving shape to our illusion of being able to bring Culture and Cinema closer, and to be able to give also meet those young directors and actors.

RULES OF THE OFFICIAL SECTION OF THE
SHORT FILM COMPETITION


1. Participation


All international short film producers and directors may participate, with no age limit.

Social short films of any production format may participate.

The festival will be held on November 4-10, 2024.


2. Conditions


Each participant may submit a maximum of two works, and they must have been produced after January 1, 2022.

The duration may not exceed 18 minutes.

Those works that do not technically guarantee a correct projection will be rejected.


The Festival assumes that the owners of the short films presented hold the rights of exhibition and promotion of the works and material they represent and declines any responsibility regarding the infringement of this rule.

Productions not shot in Spanish must present their works with the corresponding subtitles in Spanish for their exhibition at the Festival.


3. Registration


The registration period will be from May 1, 2024 to August 31, 2024. Registration must be done as follows:

The participants authorize the organization to use extracts from the films for dissemination in any media, in order to promote the festival, as well as the use of photographs of the films as advertising in the press and other media.


4. Selection

Among all the tapes received, a total of twelve will be selected.

The selection of the films will be carried out by a committee of the organization, under strict quality criteria.

The result of the selection will be made public on October, 2024.


The selection committee's decision is final.

The selected films must be sent. In the following format:

-Codec: H.264 – Resolution: 1920 x 1080 – Fps: 25p


Likewise, the festival will assume the return of the projection copies (pen-drives, hard drives or optical media), only when said shipment is within the national territory.

The selected films will be screened in public sessions in the designated place, at the times and dates that appear in the official festival program or, where appropriate, as provided by its organization.


5. Jury

The Official Jury, made up of professionals with a recognized track record in the field of culture, will be in charge of awarding the prizes.

The jury may declare void, due to lack of quality or absence of works presented, the modalities it deems appropriate or award ex aequo prizes, and its decisions will be final.

The prizes awarded will be delivered on the day of the Prize Giving Gala in the municipality of Aranda de Duero, on November, 2024.

The organization appreciates the presence of the people representing each short film.

The audience present during the screenings will award the prize for the best short film, by means of a voting slip to be filled out after each screening session. The decision of the public is final.


7. Acceptance of the bases


Registration implies acceptance of these bases and the decisions of the organization, selection committee and jury of the festival. Any issue not provided for in the bases will be resolved by the organization of the festival.


General conditions

- The copies of the non-selected films will become part of the festival's audiovisual archive, and may be used, prior notification to the producer, for exhibition in events parallel to the festival.

The producer may completely refuse this exhibition.

- The festival may organize different informative sections, with prior communication and authorization from the producer, with the non-nominated short films, parallel to the Official Section.

- The producers of the selected short films authorize the use of a fragment of the works (maximum three minutes), for dissemination as informative material in any media, including the Internet.

- The date and place may be modified by the organization, which will be communicated to the interested parties with sufficient time in advance.

- The organization reserves the right to modify the some of these bases as well as interpreting them in case of doubt. The decisions adopted by the organization will be final.

- If the festival is delayed or canceled for reasons beyond the control of the organizers, the participants will not be entitled to any compensation, but their work will remain pending to compete in it, as soon as normality is restored. Participation in this Festival implies acceptance of these bases.
