The nineteenth version of the Muestra Cine + Video Indígena, organised by the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino, opens its call for entries from 30 November to 7 March 2025 to films by indigenous and non-indigenous filmmakers whose central theme is indigenous peoples, especially in Latin America.

The curatorial committee of the festival will place special emphasis on selecting works that portray cultural and territorial aspects of these nations, such as: processes of safeguarding cultures, protection and defence of territories and the environment, human rights, identity tensions and political reflections. FOR FILMMAKERS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD WHOSE FILMS FOCUS ON NATIVE AMERICAN PEOPLES


19th FILM SHOW + INDIGENOUS VIDEO, CHILE 2024

CATEGORIES
1.- Fiction or documentary feature films.
2.- Fiction or documentary short films.
3.- Music video clips and video performances.
4.- Audiovisuals for children.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
1.- Audiovisuals made from the year 2020 to date.
2.-That have not been exhibited in this Festival in previous years.


APPLICATION
There are 2 ways to apply:
1.- Online registration through the Festhome platforms.
2.- Free registration, filling out the Google form and sending a link to download and view in high resolution to the e-mail mustraindigena@gmail.com attaching trailer, synopsis, three photos and official poster of the film.
For encrypted files, the registration form must include the password to view the film.

Important:
a) The download and exhibition copy must be sent in high quality, low compression H.264 codec MOV or MP4 video container format.
b) In case it is not spoken in Spanish, the download and exhibition copy must have subtitles, embedded or in .SRT format. The Festival will not finance subtitling costs.
c) The download and exhibition copy must not have watermarks.
If the material is not received on the stipulated dates and with the stipulated characteristics, the Festival reserves the right to remove the film from the programme.
The viewing, download and exhibition links will only be used by the Festival team for the selection process. They will not be distributed or disseminated.
Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by email on the Application Form. This decision will not be subject to appeal.
The Festival may reproduce stills and fragments of the selected works for publicity purposes.

CURATORSHIP AND EXHIBITIONS
The curatorial commission will be composed exclusively of natural persons who have carried out relevant work in culture, arts and audiovisuals, and who have no direct or indirect relationship with the selected works.
The choice of titles is final and will be informed to the selected films by email and through our social networks in the month of July 2025.
The selected films will be screened as many times as the organisation requires, both inside and outside Chile, always in non-profit activities and always safeguarding the copyright, after informing and requesting authorisation from the directors or producers of the audiovisual works.

ONLINE EXHIBITION
After the in-person exhibition of the selected films, the Muestra Cine+Video Indigena will carry out online exhibitions, through the website of the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino, protecting the rights of exhibition and copyright, with prior information and request for authorisation from the directors or producers of the audiovisual works.

EXHIBITION RIGHTS
By submitting their films to the Muestra Cine+Video Indígena, the directors or producers authorise without restriction their exhibition, and exonerate the organisers of this festival from any claim for rights by other persons or entities.
The organisation of this film festival does NOT pay exhibition rights to the selected films, as it is a free, non-profit, cultural and educational exhibition.
In the event of any need to adjust the planned programme, the organisers reserve the right to reschedule its activities, duly communicating this on the website and official social networks, and via email to the people responsible for the selected films.
The definitive programme of the Muestra Cine + Video Indigena 2025 will be published on the website and on the official social networks of the Festival, from July 2025.

ARCHIVE
All audiovisual material that applies to the Muestra Cine+Video Indigena will be stored in the Audiovisual Archive of the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino, and will be available to the public, researchers and teachers through the museum's library.
