The "Kursaal Film Festival San Sebastián - Artificial Intelligence" (KFFSS-AI) is an international audiovisual creativity short film festival promoted to showcase the artistic talent of filmmakers through AI tools. The festival format is online VOD (streaming) with an awards ceremony held within the AI Weekend Fest (AIWF).

RULES OF PARTICIPATION
1.- GENERAL REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Films are free of charge, within the framework established by these rules.
• Films must be between 1 and 30 minutes long.
• Films must be installed on Vimeo (with an access code), accessible without age restrictions, and with the embedding option enabled. Any other streaming platform, such as YouTube or Dailymotion, that does not offer Vimeo's embedding, security, and privacy options will be at the filmmaker's own risk.
• languages: Films in a language other than Spanish must have Spanish subtitles, in selectable SRT format, preferably not embedded in the video.
• Submission must be made by the director, producer, or the legal representative of the short film's distribution (hereinafter referred to as the filmmaker), who must hold the rights to the content of the work and any other materials provided.
• Films must be original artistic works, and advertising works are accepted.
• As an international festival, works from any country are accepted.
• If the work has not won an award in previous editions, it may be submitted again.
• Production deadline: No limit.
• Maximum number of works per author: No limit.
2/.- PROGRAM:
a.- Registration from November 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026.
b.- Notification by February 25, 2026.
c.- Festival from March 1 to 30, 2026.
d.- AI Weekend Fest (AIWF) with awards ceremony on March 28 and 29, 2026.

Trophies that cannot be collected by filmmakers at the official AI Weekend Fest (AIWF) awards ceremony will be sent to the interested parties at the festival's expense. If the country where the trophy is being sent incurs customs fees, these will be borne by the recipient.
4/.- REGISTRATION AND SELECTION PROCESS
Pre-registration can be done online on the festival's website or through one of the following festival platform: Festhome.
Once the short film has been pre-selected, the filmmaker will be notified by email. If the filmmaker has registered through one of the festival platforms mentioned in the previous paragraph, the filmmaker must permanently register online on the KFFSS festival website as an essential requirement. The short film cannot be withdrawn or modified from that moment on. The filmmaker agrees to keep their selected short film accessible to the KFFSS for the entire duration of the festival.
Films entered into the festival may be classified as:
1.- Winner of one of the awards.
2.- Nominated Finalists.
3.- Officially Selected for the competition.
A jury elected by KFFSS will determine the short films nominated as finalists and the winners of the various awards. The jury's decisions will be secret and final.

6/.- REGISTRATION FEES
The festival has a non-refundable registration fee of €10.
7/.- AI WEEKEND FEST (AIWF)
All filmmakers whose films have been officially selected in any of the KFFSS-AI editions are entitled to register and participate in any of the AI Weekend Fest (AIWF).
8/.- KURSAAL CHANNEL (KC)
Once the festival is over, films registered with the KFFSS-AI will be invited to register with the Kursaal Channel (KC).
9/.- GUARANTEES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARTICIPANTS
In order to respect the rights of third parties and avoid anomalous situations during the KFFSS-AI, we hereby inform you that:
9.a).- PROTECTION OF MINORS. KFFSS is a festival aimed at an adult audience (those of legal age or 18 years of age), so KFFSS cannot control the access of minors. Therefore, KFFSS cannot accept any liability in this regard. Parents and guardians are expressly responsible for supervising and assisting minors while browsing the KFFSS pages and the festival website. They are also responsible for enabling any other necessary mechanisms that, where appropriate, prevent access by minors. KFFSS accepts no responsibility or claim in this regard.
9.b) CONTENT OF SHORT FILMS. Participating filmmakers who submit a short film to the KFFSS must hold all intellectual property rights to their original creations and sources (video, music, script, characters, etc.), image rights, and public distribution rights by any means necessary. They will be solely legally responsible for its content and will be liable for any declarations, obligations, and responsibilities assumed by participation in accordance with the rules set forth in this document. Short films may not contain any illegal or pornographic material, nor may they infringe any third-party rights. The participating filmmaker will be solely and exclusively responsible for any claims received by KFFSS and the festival's producers, exempting the latter from any liability arising from their use and assuming any financial or other liability that may arise.
9.c) RIGHTS TO SHORT FILM FILM. Participation in the KFFSS entails the free transfer by participating filmmakers, without any territorial limitation and for the duration of the festival, of all rights of reproduction, public communication, availability, and distribution of the short films submitted to the festival (including excerpts or trailers and any type of graphic material of the short films, if required): (i) for their exhibition, inclusion, and dissemination during the festival in screening and/or streaming format; (ii) in other media of public and/or private entities that participate in collaboration with the festival. Participants agree that KFFSS may announce the winners by any means.
10/.- MISCELLANEOUS.
In the event that: (i) there are no participants, (ii) the attendance is lower than expected, or (iii) the quality of the short films does not meet the minimum requirements of KFFSS and/or the Jury, the prizes may be declared void or the current edition of the festival may be canceled. It may also be modified or canceled, in whole or in part, and the festival may be postponed, even after it has begun, due to circumstances beyond KFFSS's discretion.
KFFSS may withdraw from the festival any short film that does not meet the participation requirements set forth in these RULES or fails to comply with them.
In the event that these Rules are translated into any other language, the Spanish version will always prevail.
The data controller of the personal data provided as a result of participation in the KFFSS will process it in accordance with applicable Spanish regulations and the KFFSS privacy policy, which can also be found on the KFFSS registration forms and via a permanent link at the bottom of our website.
For any legal disputes that may arise from this festival, both KFFSS and the winners and other participants expressly waive any jurisdiction to which they may be entitled and expressly submit to the Courts and Tribunals of the city of San Sebastián (Spain).
PARTICIPATING OR ATTEMPT TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EDITION OF THE FESTIVAL IMPLIES FULL ACCEPTANCE OF THESE RULES. IN THE EVENT OF UNFORESEEN SITUATIONS, KFFSS WILL DECIDE AT ALL TIMES.
