The creation of the film festival belongs to the Association “Safety and Quality”. This is a large association of Russian employers, which has brought together under its auspices more than 3.5 thousand companies throughout the country, for which the greatest value is their employee - the Labor Man.

Why Antares? Antares is the brightest star in the night sky, a red supergiant and a guiding light for sailors. Films presented at a film festival, like a guiding star, should become moral and ethical guidelines for all viewers.

The goal of the film festival is to bring together filmmakers from Russia and foreign countries in the Russian resort city of Sochi, exchange experiences, transfer skills and knowledge, initiate new film projects and create a festival of film art for residents and guests of the city.

Regulations of the Antares Film Festival
The 1st International Festival of full-length feature, documentary, short feature and animated films "Antares" is held from June 26 to 30, 2024 in the resort city of Sochi, Russia.



GENERAL PROVISIONS
In order to develop cultural exchange, mutual understanding between peoples and cooperation between filmmakers around the world, and to popularize the Working Man, the 1st Antares International Film Festival is being held in Sochi from April 26 to April 30, 2024.

The festival is organized by the Safety and Quality Association with the support of industry associations of employers of the Russian Federation and is held annually.


FESTIVAL PROGRAM
INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION:

full-length feature films (duration up to 120 minutes)
short feature films (duration up to 30 minutes)
documentaries (duration up to 40 minutes),
animated films (duration up to 20 minutes)


NON-COMPETITIVE PROGRAMS:

out-of-competition show
retrospective show
screening of pilots of Russian television series
All films in competition must be completed after January 1, 2022. The production date is determined by the copyright indicated in the film or video copy. All films with dialogue require Russian subtitles if the original language of the film is not Russian. And if the original language of the film is Russian, English subtitles are required.



FILM FESTIVAL JURY
Films selected for each nomination are evaluated by a jury consisting of film experts, film critics, leading Russian and foreign cinematographers (directors, producers, cameramen, screenwriters, etc.) - no less than 3 (three) people in each competition .

The composition of the jury of all competitive programs changes annually. The jury cannot include persons involved in the creation or commercial distribution of films submitted to the competition. All jury members undertake to refrain from public statements regarding the competition films (namely, mentions and direct links to the winning films, publication in open sources of instructions and/or reviews of the winning films or other links containing instructions of the competition laureates) until the official award ceremony and announcements of winners.

APPLICATIONS FOR PARTICIPATION AND SELECTION
Application acceptance dates are from February 1, 2024 to May 10, 2024 (for films produced in 2024, rough cuts can be submitted for selection).

There is no fee to apply to participate in the film festival.

PROMOTION

Film festival participants agree to publish elements of the film (including, but not limited to: stills, photographs from the set, texts related to the film, trailers, teasers, clips) for use by journalists accredited at the Antares Film Festival on TV (broadcast, cable, satellite), in Internet media, in print media.

In addition, elements of the film can be used by the Film Festival Directorate in any official printed materials, online publications and other situations.



SHIPPING, INSURANCE AND RETURN OF DISPLAY COPIES

Copies of films selected for screening must be provided to the festival organizing committee before May 10, 2024 by transmission via the Internet. Only digital media will be accepted for screening. If a copy is not received within the prescribed period, the Festival has the right to exclude the film from the competition program.

Copy formats for display: DCP (preferred), HD files (Apple ProRes) or MP4. Detailed technical requirements will be sent to all selected participants in person. The screening copy must have Russian subtitles embedded in it if the film is not in Russian.



INVITATION TO THE FESTIVAL
Directors of films included in the program will be invited to the Festival. If the director cannot attend the Festival, he can (in agreement with the festival organizing committee) transfer his invitation to another member of the film crew. The festival provides representatives of competition films with an invitation to receive a free visa to the Russian Federation.

Questions about the conditions for inviting participants and guests, the terms and conditions of their stay and accreditation at the festival of each competitor are personally decided by the Organizing Committee of the Antares Film Festival in personal invitations.


By tradition, the festival reserves the right to invite guests of honor, participants in non-competitive screenings, theatrical and other programs, leading master classes, heroes of films presented at the festival, representatives of the media and various cultural organizations. Payment for accommodation and travel is negotiated and considered in each case individually.



SCREENINGS DURING THE FESTIVAL, ON TV AND ON THE INTERNET

The Festival may use excerpts from competition films (up to 10% of the length of the film, but no more than 3 minutes) to promote the Festival on television and the Internet.

The festival has the right to show a film selected for the competition program no more than three times during the festival. The Festival has the right to additionally demonstrate films from the competition program in an amount of no more than 2 (two) screenings within 6 (six) months from the date of the Festival in Sochi. These additional screenings can only be carried out as part of cultural events related to the presentation of the Antares Film Festival.

CONFIRMATION OF ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS

By sending an electronic application for participation in the Antares festival (on the Festhome platforms, or other authorized resource), or signing a paper copy of the application, you confirm that you are an authorized representative of the film's copyright holder and agree with all of the above paragraphs of these Regulations in full.



SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND SPECIAL SCREENINGS
Special Programs are formed and compiled by the Festival Organizing Committee. The number of special programs in each year is determined by the Organizing Committee based on the current needs and capabilities of the Festival.

Films selected for special programs and special screenings of the Festival are requested by the curator of each special program from the copyright holder. Payment for renting a film for screening (license payment) is carried out by the Festival on the basis of an invoice issued by the copyright holder. The cost of each individual film is not fixed and may vary in each individual case.



INVITING SPECIAL GUESTS TO THE FESTIVAL

Authors of films from special programs and special screenings are invited to the festival to present films. Where possible, the festival provides representatives of films of special programs and screenings with a visa, air or train tickets, as well as hotel accommodation for the period of the special program or special screening within the framework of the film festival.



BUSINESS PROGRAM
The business program of the Festival consists of exhibitions, creative meetings, round tables and master classes with the possibility of non-competitive screening of full-length feature films, as well as other cultural events that are an integral part of the festival program.

All guests of the business program are invited by the Festival.
