All types of productions, short films or feature films made from January 1, 2024 are accepted.
1. The developed Rules are valid for all participants of ARCU ATLANTICU 2025.
2. There is no limit of works per author, as long as they have been made after January 1, 2024.
3. All pieces submitted to the contest must be original. Participants ratify through the signing of these legal rules that they have the authorship and therefore the intellectual property rights (or the authorized license for the use of the piece by its owners), in addition to the transfer of the right to the image of the people who appear.
4. In case of non-compliance with the authorship, the person responsible will be solely and exclusively the person who has submitted said short film, assuming, therefore, the consequences derived from any type of claim or legal action. Consequently, the organization is exempt from any conflict derived from the non-authorship of the works presented.
5. Two sections are established within the festival.
5.1. Official Section Feature Films: International feature film competition.
5.2. Official Section Short Films: International short film competition.
6. Prizes. Two main prizes are established.
6.1 Prize for best feature film.
6.2 Prize for best short film.
7. The submission of the works and their registration can only be done through Festhome (www.festhome.com)
8. The works can be sent until May 31, 2025.
9. The Festival will notify all participants by email of the works that make up the official selection 2 weeks before the start of the competition. Each selected person will be asked to personally send a screening copy in digital format, also by email.
10. The theme of the work to be presented is free.
10.1 The festival organisers reserve the right to reject any works that they consider not to comply with the rules, or that do not present a minimum quality (we will be strict with those that do not respect the format for sending the works or exceed the time established for the duration of the screenings).
10.2 Subtitles. In the event that it is necessary to subtitle the film, the company that provides it must provide the appropriate material: reference link, DVD or Blu-Ray and list of dialogues and/or subtitles. The Festival will not return these materials, which will be destroyed once the Festival ends. If the film is distributed in Spanish territory, the distribution company must provide the festival with a screening copy in original version subtitled in Spanish.
10.3 Screening Formats. The screening formats for the selected works will be: Digital file with HD quality (.mov or .mp4). The file provided must be the final version of the film without subtitles. Subtitles must be provided in separate files in .srt format. Codecs must be h.264 or h.265.
10.4 Copies submitted for the competition will be kept by the festival organization indefinitely, forming part of the archive material, and may be used for non-profit purposes.
10.5 The decisions of the Selection Committee and the Jury are final.
10.6 The voting and the decision of the jury are secret, personal and irrevocable. The voting will be done by simple majority and will not be public until the time of the awards ceremony. Subsequently, it will be published through the various channels belonging to the festival and other media.
11. The contestants assign to the festival the rights of total or partial reproduction of the works submitted, both within the scope of the competition and through any of the means that this festival uses to make itself known and promote itself. This does not imply the loss of copyright by their owners but the transfer of these for non-commercial purposes and linked to the festival.
11.1. The contestants authorize the festival to use, reproduce and distribute their name, as well as the works they participate in, the images and frames contained in said pieces for any event that the organization carries out throughout the calendar year as long as they maintain the essence of not having a profit motive.
11.2. Any additional information or clarification will be provided by email.
12. All participants, by virtue of being so, fully accept these rules, as well as the resolution by the Organization of any problem not covered by them. In the event of possible doubts, the criteria of the Festival Organization will prevail.
13. The Organization reserves the right to modify these rules.
