We invite you to participate in the 13th Navarra, Land of Cinema Short Film Contest — the festival that challenges your creativity in our natural filming locations.

Your originality could win one of six awards, along with accommodation, filming insurance, production support, distribution opportunities, and more...

1. OBJECTIVE OF THE CONTEST
To promote the production of 10 fiction short films set in different locations in order to promote the region of Navarra.

2. PARTICIPATION
The contest is open to all projects submitted by individuals over the age of 18.

3. PROCEDURE AND PHASES OF THE CONTEST
Interested participants must register here: Register
Scripts must be submitted by August 10, 2025 (inclusive).

A selection committee will choose ten projects to move on to the filming phase.

The short films must be delivered no later than November 19, 2025.

The winners will be announced during an awards ceremony, the date of which will be confirmed during December 2025.

4. DOCUMENTATION AND SCRIPTS
The following documentation must be sent in a single PDF file and in the following order:

Cover page

Registration form

Copy of ID (DNI)

Author’s CV

Declaration certifying the originality of the work (official registration is required)

Literary script (in Spanish)

Project statement (maximum 1,500 words)

Production plan (names of the technical and creative team, approximate budget, necessary technical equipment, provisional calendar, name of the production company —if applicable—, and other relevant details about the particularities of the filming)

5. THEME, GENRE, AND LOCATIONS
The theme and genre of the short film are open, as long as the plot and production take place in one of the locations proposed by the contest and its corresponding tourist landmarks.

6. ORIGINALITY
The short film must be original and unpublished and may not be publicly screened until the end of the contest.

7. LANGUAGE
The short film may be shot in any language. If not in Spanish, it must include subtitles.

8. DURATION
The maximum duration is ten minutes, excluding credits.

9. FORMAT
The film must be recorded in high definition.

10. DELIVERY OF SHORT FILMS
The short film must be delivered no later than November 19 via digital transfer using the WETRANSFER platform. The file must not exceed 2 GB.

11. AWARDS

First Prize for Best Short Film: €2,500

Second Prize: €1,000

Best Cinematography Award: €500

Audience Award: €500

Special Jury Prize: €500

Best Performance: €250

Note: The authors commit to allocating 15% of the First and Second Prizes to the person(s) who wrote and registered the script.
Note: Winning one prize does not exclude the possibility of winning others.

12. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The organization will provide each finalist team with accommodation near the filming location for four people for two nights and civil liability insurance.

Prizes may be declared void if the quality is deemed insufficient.

Participants agree to grant public screening rights of the short film to Navarra, Land of Cinema, as long as it is for cultural and promotional purposes, and authorship is duly acknowledged.

The organization reserves the right to disqualify a short film if there are significant differences between the submitted script and the final film. Any future changes to the script that significantly alter the nature of the film must be approved by the organization.

The organization also reserves the right to propose changes to the assigned location/project based on availability.

Finalists selected for the filming phase must sign a collaboration agreement with the festival organization.

The organization will launch an Incubator for the finalist projects, which will take place on August 29 and 30 in the town of Arguedas. Attendance by at least one team representative is mandatory.
