CBF – Vigo International Film Festival is an international film event organized by the production and distribution company CityBlue Films. It will hold its 10th edition from December 1st to 5th, 2026, in the city of Vigo, Spain.
OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSE
It is a cultural and social event and a meeting place for the public, creators, film professionals, and representatives of the film industry.
CBFF – Vigo International Film Festival was created with the main objective of promoting culture through the promotion and dissemination of cinematographic works.
This festival was developed to support directors and producers by providing all filmmakers with a space to disseminate and promote their work to the general public.
It is an audiovisual, cultural, artistic, industrial, and educational platform, allowing the discovery of new talents and emerging films.

AWARDS
All films selected for the official sections will receive a Certificate.
Nine Prizes and Special Mentions will be awarded at the jury's discretion.
1. Prize of €300 for Best Film and CityBlue Trophy. (All categories are eligible for this prize).
2. Jury Prize: Best Short Film, International Distribution for 1 year by CityBlue Films, valued at €1,700, and CityBlue Trophy. (All selected short films are eligible for this prize).
3. Jury Prize: Best International Feature Film, CityBlue Trophy.
4. Jury Prize: Best AI Short Film, CityBlue Trophy.
5. Jury Prize: Best Feature Film or Short Film with a Social Theme, CityBlue Trophy. (Based on the values of coexistence, tolerance, solidarity, respect, diversity, and social cohesion). 6. Audience Award: Best Galician Short Film, CityBlue Trophy.
7. Audience Award: Best Student Short Film, CityBlue Award (Audiovisual Marketing and Short Film Distribution Consulting), prizes valued at €200, and CityBlue Trophy.
8. Audience Award: Best Galician Student Short Film, CityBlue Award (Audiovisual Marketing and Short Film Distribution Consulting), prizes valued at €200, and CityBlue Trophy.
9. Audience Award: Best Children's Short Film, CityBlue Trophy.

Notification of selected entries: from November 1, 2026.

SECTIONS
1. International Feature Film Competition.
2. International Short Film Competition (Fiction, Animation, and Documentary - Open Theme).
3. Galicia Short Film Competition (Fiction, Animation, and Documentary - Open Theme). (Produced in Galicia or by a Galician director).
4. International Student Short Film Competition (Fiction, Animation, and Documentary).
5. Galicia Student Short Film Competition (Fiction, Animation, and Documentary) (Produced by Galician Audiovisual Centers or Schools, or produced or directed by students currently studying Audiovisual Arts in Galicia).
6. International Competition of Children's Short Films (Fiction, Animation, and Documentary). (Submitted works must be short films aimed at children).
7. International Competition of International Short Films (Fiction, Animation, and Documentary, open theme).
8. Parallel Screenings (The Festival organizers may also invite or select films for parallel screenings).
REGISTRATION
The call for entries is open to directors and producers of all nationalities.
The submission period is open from April 21 to September 30, 2026.
Feature films up to 120 minutes and short films up to 30 minutes are accepted.
Feature films and short films completed from January 2024 onwards are eligible.
Productions must be submitted in their original language, but with Spanish or Galician subtitles if that is not the film's language.
Films cannot have been submitted to previous editions of the festival.
Films may be submitted as many times as desired.
The AI section will accept short films up to 30 minutes dedicated to exploring new forms of audiovisual creation arising from the use of artificial intelligence.
There is a €5 admission fee for film submissions. Submission is free for the student and children's sections.
SELECTION
The CBFF – Vigo International Film Festival organization will announce the OFFICIAL SELECTION via social media starting November 1, 2026. Film representatives will also be notified by email.
A selection committee, comprised of members of CityBlue Films and a jury of film industry professionals, will be responsible for choosing the selected and award-winning works.
If selected, participants may NOT withdraw their film once the selection has been announced by the Festival organizers. They also agree to submit a high-quality copy for screening by November 20, 2026.
The finalist films in each section will be screened in public sessions in designated theaters, on the dates and times listed in the official CBFF – Vigo International Film Festival program, as determined by the organizers.
They may also be screened online through internationally recognized platforms, with prior authorization from the copyright holder.
The following will be selected:
3 feature films in the International section.
10 short films in the International section.
5 short films in the Galicia section.
5 short films in the IA section.
5 short films in the International Student section.
5 short films in the Galicia Student section.
5 short films in the Children's section.

LEGALITY
By registering, the participant declares that they own all rights to the submitted film, its sound and/or visual files, and releases CBFF – Vigo International Film Festival from any claims that may be made by third parties regarding the public exhibition, intellectual property, and/or patrimonial rights of the work within the framework of the CBFF – Vigo International Film Festival. Participants whose films are selected as OFFICIAL SELECTION agree to the free reproduction and/or distribution of excerpts from their works, as well as trailers, posters, or photos, for informational and/or promotional purposes related to the Festival.
During the CBFF – Vigo International Film Festival, the organization reserves the right to screen the OFFICIAL SELECTION films free of charge at all festival venues, at no cost to the organization. It also agrees not to screen participating films outside the Festival without notifying the festival organizers.
Participation in the Festival implies full acceptance of these rules and a waiver of any legal claim. Any matter not covered herein will be subject to the decision of the aforementioned Selection Committee.
