Cerro de Pasco, a city that has forged its identity in the depths of the earth, is preparing to welcome a new treasure: the "4 Reales" Film Festival. Inspired by our region's rich mining history, this cinematic event stands as a beacon of hope and creativity, illuminating the deepest corners of our culture. With each frame, we aim to project dreams, inspire talent, and celebrate the cultural diversity that characterizes us. Since time immemorial, stories have been passed down from generation to generation, carved into the walls of mines and resonating in the hearts of their inhabitants. Today, cinema becomes the new medium to tell these stories, to make visible the struggles and dreams of a people who have known how to face challenges with courage. The name "4 Reales" pays homage to the colonial-era currency, a symbol of value and exchange. Just as money connected people in the past, cinema unites us in the present, creating a space for encounter and dialogue where differences are blurred and diversity is celebrated.

Terms and Conditions of the First 4 Reales Film Festival

1. Eligibility

Types of films: fiction, documentary, animation and experimental short films are accepted.

duration: Short films must not exceed 20 minutes.

Year of Production: Films must have been produced within the last two years (2024 or 2026), in other cases the current year.

language: Films in a language other than Spanish must have Spanish subtitles.


2. Registration

deadline: Registration will be open from 07/04/2025 until 05/05/2025.

Platform: Registration will be done through the online platform Festhome.

Fee: Registration will be completely free of charge.

Materials: A completed entry form, a copy of the film in digital format (download link or file), a synopsis, a biography of the director with his or her photograph and photographs of the film must be sent.

3. Selection

Jury: A jury composed of film and cultural professionals will select the films that will be part of the festival's programming.

Criteria: The jury will consider the technical quality, originality, narrative and emotional impact of the films.

Notification: The filmmakers of the selected films will be notified by 05/14/2025.



4. Screening

Dates: The festival will be held from 05/16/2025 to 05/18/2025.

Format: The films will be screened in digital format.

Venue: IEI Auditorium 34047 "CESAR VALLEJO" - Yanacancha - Pasco.


5. awards

Categories: prizes will be awarded to the Best Film. It consists of a Trophy and a Certificate.

Jury: The prizes will be awarded by a jury different from the selection jury.

Delivery: The award ceremony will take place on 05/18/2025, starting at 18:00.


6. Rights

Authorization: The filmmakers authorize the festival to screen their films during the dates of the event and in subsequent screenings organized by the festival.

Responsibility: The filmmakers are responsible for obtaining the copyright of the music, images and other materials used in their films.


7. General Provisions.

Acceptance: Registration of a film implies acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Modifications: The festival reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions if necessary.
