Festival de Sci-Fi, Terror y Fantasía (5)

Festival start: 21 July 2025      Festival end: 27 July 2025

The Sci-Fi, Terror and Fantasy Film Festival 2025 is an event of showing and spreading the culture of this genres in Bogotá, with some spaces of showing between 21 and 27 of July of 2025.

PRIZES: There will be the next prizes:

- Best Feature Film
- Best Short Film SCI-FI
- Best Short Film FANTASY
- Best Short Film TERROR
- Best Film EXPERIMENTAL
- Best Film Videoclip

This prizes gonna have a trophy or gift to be delivered in the Award Ceremony to the presents filmmakers, if the filmmaker isn't present in the ceremony must pay the shipping costs.

1. DATE AND PLACE OF CONTEST: From 21 to 27 of July of 2025, in the city of Bogotá, Colombia.

2. DATE OF RECEPTION: From 5 of September of 2024 until 10 of May of 2025, it will be split in Two deadlines; Regular deadline (from 5 of September of 2024 until 20 of April of 2025) and Extended deadline (from 21 of April until 10 of May of 2025).

3. DATE OF NOTIFICATION OF OFFICIAL SELECTION AND LAUNCH OF THE FILM FESTIVAL: The notification of the selected films of the film festival will be the 15 of June of 2025 by an E-Mail. The launch of the Festival and the socialization of the Official Selection to the press and different media will be at July with the announce of the allies, sponsors, screening site, partners, the official image, trailer and jury.

4. CATEGORIES AND COSTS OF CONTEST: The Film FESTIVAL will split in the next categories:

- Sci-Fi: Films of Sci-Fi Genre; Including sub-genres like Dystopian, Post-Apocalyptic, Space Operas, cyberpunk, among the others

- Terror: Films of Horror, Thriller or Suspense, and films of Sci-fi and Fantasy where the horror it's at the services of this genres; Including subgenres like Dark Fantasies, Monsters, Vampires and Werewolf, Unnatural, o surveillance, Zombies, Film Noir, Action Thriller, Conspiracy Thriller, Politician Thriller, Spy's, among the others.

- Fantasy: Films of Fantasy and Western genre; Including sub-genres like Fairy Tales, Epics, Modern Fantasy, Magical Realism, Urban Fantasy, Science Fantasy, Steampunk, Spaghetti Western, Modern Western, among the others
- Experimental: Films of Sci-Fi, Horror and Fantasy who use experimental elements in the work.

- Videoclip: Music videos created for bands, orchestras or soloists that have Sci-Fi, Horror and Fantasy themes as the central axis of the video narration.

- National: Films and Music videos of Sci-Fi, Horror, Fantasy and Experimental that have been filmed, produced, post-produced in Colombia or their directors have a Colombia Nationality

This different categories will be split in the next entry categories (It splits by the long of the films) This are they price by deadline:

- Feature Film (Sci-Fi, Terror or Fantasy):15 USD (Regular deadline) / 25 USD (Extended deadline)

- Short Film (Sci-Fi, Terror, Fantasy, Experimental or VideoClip): 10 USD (Regular deadline) / 15 USD (Extended deadline)
- Feature Film (Colombia Production): 8 USD (Regular deadline) / 15 USD (Extended deadline)

- Short Film (Colombia Production): 5 USD (Regular deadline) / 10 USD (Extended deadline)

If the curator’s team or the jury consider then a film presented fits more in a different category from the one presented, they can move it without notice and claims from participants will not be accepted.

The SFTF Film Festival is a Pro Festival at Festhome, so you will find discounts if you are part of these selections.

5. prizes: There will be the next prizes:

- Best Film EXPERIMENTAL

6. PARTICIPATING WORKS: Films from around the world can participate. If the film is in english or a different language it be required subtitles in Spanish. Priority will be given to National, Continental and Worldwide releases at the moment of make the official selection, however, it isn’t a requirement not to have been released in Colombia.

7. duration:

- Short Films: Works from 1 minutes until 35 minutes length (Including credits)

- Feature Films: Works over 70 minutes without a time limit.

8. INSCRIPTION: The postulants must enter in FestHome and fill in the inscription correspondent.

9. SENDING OF WORKS; For the sending of works, you must upload the digital copy of the film in high definition (.MOV, .MP4, Compressor H.264 or ProRes 422) a virtual cloud (Dropbox, PCloud, Google Drive, etc..) and send for email the link of download. At the same time you must append the document where you give the permission of exhibition of your work

10. RECOGNITION: There will be a delivery of officials recognitions (certificates of Official Selection) to the selected works in every category after be announced, the laurels will be send for the press kits and posters, likewise after of finished the film FESTIVAL, a certified gonna be send for your participation in the FESTIVAL.

11. REQUIREMENTS: The High Definition video of the selected films. In case of be selected, the postulant must put the laurel of the FESTIVAL in the poster or banner.

12. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION. For the fact of make the inscription, the filmmakers of the movies chosen to be official selection accept than their films will be exhibited in the different activities framed in the development of the FESTIVAL in the 2025 edition. As well as using extracts of images from the films for promotional purposes of the FESTIVAL through the media. The sent material don’t be returned and going to pass to be part of the FESTIVAL LIBRARY. The FESTIVAL doesn’t be responsible of infractions related to copyright, being this responsibility of who send the work.

13.THE JURY: The Jury will be compose for specialized filmmakers, The jury will be announced at July with the announcement of the Official Selection of the festival. The Jury will choose the winners of every every major category. The choice of the jury will be unappealable.
