We believe in the power of narratives and their messages to transform lives and strengthen faith. We train and interact with emerging and professional filmmakers with a common purpose: to multiply love through film and bring to life stories that touch the heart of the world.
Our vision is to make the Tequisquiapan International Film Festival an international benchmark for purposeful cinema with a positive message that impacts lives.

1. MISSION AND VISION
We are the Tequisquiapan Film Festival – FICTX. We promote emerging filmmaking talent to bring love to movie theaters. We believe in the power of narratives and their messages to transform lives and strengthen faith. We work and interact with both emerging and professional creators with a common purpose: multiplying love through cinema and bringing stories to life that touch the heart of the world.
Our vision is to establish the International Film Festival of Tequisquiapan as an international reference for purposeful cinema with positive messages that can impact and transform lives.
2. CALL FOR ENTRIES – OPENING AND CLOSING DATES
FICTX opens its call for entries for the 2026 edition.

Closing: January 10, 2026
3. FICTX 2026 CATEGORIES
The festival includes four participation categories:
Christian Short Films
Short Films – “Hope to Love” Theme
Music Videos – “Hope to Love”
Mobile Short Films – “Faith Story – Hope to Love”
General Restrictions for All Categories
The inclusion of discriminatory expressions or representations (racism, xenophobia, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
Content with political connotations will not be accepted, as the festival maintains a neutral stance.
The use of unverified information or the dissemination of false data is prohibited.
Irony, mockery, or disrespectful representations of the figure of Jesus are strictly forbidden.
4. REQUIREMENTS – CHRISTIAN SHORT FILMS CATEGORY
Amateurs and professionals 18 years and older, residing in Mexico or abroad, may participate.
Technical and general requirements:
Horizontal format
Maximum duration: 25 minutes (including credits)
Fiction or documentary accepted
File format: MP4 or MOV, codec H.264
Minimum resolution: Full HD (1920×1080)
Works in other languages must include Spanish subtitles
Only works produced after January 1, 2022 will be accepted
Up to 5 behind-the-scenes photos (JPG/PNG) must be attached
Film poster must be included in editable format
Category theme:
Transformative stories reflecting Christian values and placing Jesus at the center of the narrative: faith, redemption, love, hope, and reconciliation.
Well-structured scripts, authentic characters, and creative, original interpretations of the Gospel—whether in contemporary or historical contexts—will be especially valued.
5. REQUIREMENTS – “HOPE TO LOVE” SHORT FILM CATEGORY
Requirements identical to the previous category, including:
Maximum duration: 25 minutes
Horizontal format, Full HD
Spanish subtitles if applicable
Works produced after January 1, 2022
Category theme:
This category highlights productions representing purposeful cinema—stories that inspire, depict personal growth, and promote positive transformation on both regional and international levels.
Regionally, the festival values works showcasing Mexican landscapes, traditions, and realities, strengthening local connection and impact.
Internationally, the festival seeks narratives addressing personal growth, reconciliation, and spirituality, contributing to a global vision of cinema as a tool for inspiration and transformation.
6. REQUIREMENTS – “HOPE TO LOVE” MUSIC VIDEO CATEGORY
Amateurs and professionals over 18 may participate.
Specifications:
Maximum duration: 7 minutes
Horizontal format
MP4 or MOV, H.264 codec
Minimum resolution: Full HD
Spanish subtitles if applicable
Works produced after January 1, 2022 will be accepted
Up to 5 behind-the-scenes photos (JPG/PNG)
Editable format of the music video’s poster
Category theme:
Music videos that portray stories of faith and hope, expressing the power of positive messaging through image and sound.
Creativity in the audiovisual language is highly valued, especially when using mobile devices.
7. REQUIREMENTS – “FAITH STORY WITH MOBILE PHONE” CATEGORY
This category is aimed at amateurs or emerging creators residing in Mexico.
Requirements:
Horizontal short film recorded with a mobile phone
Maximum duration: 5 minutes (including credits)
MP4 or MOV, codec H.264
Minimum resolution: Full HD (1920×1080)
Spanish subtitles if applicable
Only works created after January 1, 2022 will be accepted
Up to 5 behind-the-scenes photos (JPG/PNG)
Editable format of the film’s poster
Special attention to lighting, sound, and image stability is recommended, as selected works may be screened in theaters.
Category theme:
Stories of faith and personal growth that represent purposeful cinema—film that inspires, moves, and uplifts.
Narratives showcasing Mexican landscapes, customs, and realities are especially valued.
8. SUBMISSION METHOD
To submit your short film or music video, you must complete your registration through:

9. COPYRIGHT AND USE OF AUDIOVISUAL WORKS
The producer or responsible party declares:
That they are the legitimate copyright holder of the submitted work
That the work does not infringe upon third-party rights
That all corresponding credits have been included
That they authorize the International Film Festival of Tequisquiapan to publicly broadcast the work through digital platforms and regional media until December 31, 2026
That they hold all necessary licenses or permissions for synchronized music
That the work does not infringe upon intellectual property rights, image rights, trademarks, or related rights
That they authorize any required format conversion or mastering for reproduction, exhibition, or archiving purposes within the framework of the festival
10. APPLICABLE LEGISLATION
The International Film Festival of Tequisquiapan is organized in accordance with the applicable laws on copyright in Mexico, including:
Federal Copyright Law (LFDA)
Regulations of the LFDA
Constitution of the United Mexican States (articles 11, 27, 28)
Berne Convention
WIPO Treaties (WCT and WPPT)
Responsible institutions:
National Copyright Institute (INDAUTOR)
Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI)
Duration of copyright protection in Mexico: life of the author + 100 years.
The festival guarantees respect for the rights of creators, producers, and audiences, promoting ethical, legal, and educational audiovisual culture in Mexico.
11. SELECTION OF SHORT FILMS AND MUSIC VIDEOS – 2026
A curatorial committee will evaluate and select the participating works based on artistic, technical, and thematic criteria.
Official announcement of selected works: February 1, 2026
Selected works must be submitted in DCP format (physical or downloadable)
The festival is not responsible for damage, loss, or return of physical materials
