30th INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH - 2020 DIVERCINE
August 17th through 27th 2021


INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH is held annually with the aim of presenting an overview of the new film productions for children and adolescents, to the best and most diverse materials to the region. It also seeks to motivate local distributors to buy new films, TV shows and new formats with its extensive programming. Divercine is an open festival, he has never charged for sending works to your selection.

2. Montevideo will be the site of the 29th FESTIVAL, DIVERCINE 2020.
The selection of films will be shown at subsites of several cities in the country and some of Latin America and Spain. This year we have sub-branches in San Juan de Puerto Rico, Guadalajara, Bogotá, Mendoza, San Martin de los Andes, Zaragoza and in the hinterland through the MEC Centres of the Ministry of Education and Culture. We only work with institutions and / or individuals that demonstrate our confidence and capacity for professional work.

DIVERCINE 2016 will feature:

CONTEST EXHIBITION.
film and television with the following shall be allowed: to project in digital format, length between 1 and 110 minutes; not shown before in Uruguay, produced after January 2018. Just admit works of art, suitable for child-sensitive and comprehensive quality, we accept films or videos in Spanish, without dialogue or subtitles in Spanish if they are aimed at children over 10 years. Our audience covers ages between 3 and 14 years.

Films in Competition the following prizes will be awarded:

GURI AWARD to best film or video production.

FESTIVAL AWARD to the best films and videos of short and feature films in the categories of fiction, animation and documentary.

UNICEF AWARD for best film or video production promoting the rights of children.

SIGNIS-OCIC AWARD to the film or video that emphasizes human values.

OEI AWARD for Best Opera Prima.

ICAU AWARD to the best Uruguayan production.

A three-member jury composed of film experts, artists and renowned educators appointed by the organizers will award the prizes. SIGNIS decided to grant their awards through its own jury.

A jury composed by Plan Deni students, aged between 7 and 14 years, will award the best short film of the festival.

AWARD young audiences will be allocated according to the result of the votes of the children attending functions Festival.

prizes will be given to the directors of the winning films, or their representatives at the closing ceremony of the Festival. Not all titles scheduled enter the contest, there will be a selection of the best to give the jurors.

INFORMATIVE SECTION including:

Child-movies originally made in all formats.

Short films and television productions will be integrated into separate programs and unit according to formal criteria and content.

-works by children and young people (out of competition).

This Informative Show will provide specialists and the general public a wide panorama of new productions.

The parallel sections will have equipment specially invited
for dissemination within the Festival. Films or videos are scheduled pooled their thematic unity, author or origin. They are excluded from the propaganda films Festival, as well as those educational support classrooms, or purely commercial.

REGISTRATION.

The application must be submitted by the producer or the director, or exceptionally by film organizations or institutions that have distribution rights in the area.

The list of works selected for the festival program will be published on the website: www.divercine.com.uy, as well as the facebook of Divercine. It will be the form of communication with producers and directors, it will also be published in the media. We can not contact 600 or more producers and directors for all the details of the festival.

Films and videos.

Copies of the films that are selected for the program must have a copy of exhibit in those platforms or links sent for registration. Times are too few to set up the program and send it to theaters, logically after being published in the order they will be displayed, as they generally are selected 100 works.

Accompanied by:

-Photographs, Posters and informative press material, if any.
-Bio-Filmography of the director with pictures, especially for feature films.
-List Of awards won.

All exhibitions will be held in HD. They will be used exclusively in the programmed functions and will not be shown in any other field, only at private functions for juries and the press.

COPY OF FILMS AWARDED.

The organization of the Festival, and only with the approval of the producers, shall retain a copy of the award-winning short and feature films. These copies will be part of the Festival archive and will be used only in functions of the Festival itself or its video library training, allowing no copy for commercial uses. If needed for some other purpose will be consulted in all cases, producers of works, such as Sample Divercine colleagues to be presented at festivals.

RELATED ACTIVITIES.

The children in the audience can participate in various recreational and educational activities, particularly suitable for experts.
seminars and workshops by invited domestic and foreign, live or by videoconference will be held.

Divercine 2016 is organized by the Film Company and a group of specialized staff with sufficient experience in the Festival. Sponsored by: Ministry of Education and Culture - ICAU (Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual of Uruguay), of Montevideo, UNICEF, OEI, Council of Primary and the National Institute for Children, among others.

EXCEPTIONS.
The organizers will take the decisions on those aspects that were not specifically covered by regulations. By entering it implies full agreement with this Regulation. Divercine has 25 years of international experience as one of the most famous festivals in the world, so there are sufficient guarantees to rely on a professional treatment, in every way.

Budgets for festivals in Uruguay are small and that's why trying to give the best possible performance in this regard any suggestion to increase resources be considered carefully.
