IPSMF (International Photography and Short Movie Festival) is an international event held annually by the Faculty of Communication and Business, Telkom University, Bandung. IPSMF is expected to become a competitive activity that facilitates skills, becomes a means of exchanging ideas, and of course as a forum for conveying photo and film creators to the public.
In this year's IPSMF (2023), we raises the theme of “The Beauty of Diversity: Exploring Cultures Through a Multicultural Lens”. Diversity encompasses a wide range of differences, including race, ethnicity, culture, language, religion, age, ability, and socio-economic status. Hence exploring cultures through a multicultural lens involves examining and understanding different cultural perspectives and experiences in a way that acknowledges and values diversity.
IPSMF as an international event is expected to become a competitive activity that facilitates the ability of photo and film creators, a vehicle for exchanging ideas for fellow photo and film requests, and of course, as a means of delivering photo and film works to the public. as a competition on an international scale, where participants include other countries, this event is expected to bring an interesting picture of the culture and dynamics of change experienced in each country as well as how the existence of culture is their future.

IPSMF 2023 THEME :
“The Beauty of Diversity: Exploring Cultures Through a Multicultural Lens”.
Diversity encompasses a wide range of differences, including race, ethnicity, culture, language, religion, age, ability, and socio-economic status. Diversity is considered to be a valuable asset that can lead to greater creativity and innovation.
Exploring cultures through a multicultural lens involves examining and understanding different cultural perspectives and experiences in a way that acknowledges and values diversity.
SUB THEMES :
● Digital-Social Culture
Digital-social culture refers to the ways in which digital technology has transformed the ways in which people communicate, interact, and create culture.
● Cultural Heritage
Cultural heritage refers to the material and immaterial artifacts, traditions, beliefs, and practices that have been passed down through generations within a particular culture or society. These can include tangible artifacts such as artwork, historical buildings, and archaeological sites, as well as intangible elements like music, language, and customs.
● Urban Values
Represent the values of modernity in various contexts. For example art, fashion, architecture, to social movements. A new thing can be created as a reflection of certain values and beliefs. but not infrequently these new things are bolder to challenge the prevailing norms and values
Note: perception of the explanation of each sub-theme, participants can perform according to their own perceptions.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SHORT FILM COMPETITION :
- This competition is allowed for public and students (amateur and professional).
- The competition is charged Rp.100.000 for the public and $10 for international participants.
- Participants could take part in competitions based on the theme “The Beauty of Diversity: Exploring the Cultures Through a Multicultural Lens” with a choice of sub themes (Digital-Social Culture, Culture Heritage, and Urban Space).
- The duration of the film is at least 5 minutes and a maximum of 20 minutes (including title and credit).
- Film works in the form of documentaries and fiction.
- Films are original works and may not use material that violates copyrights.
- Films could not contain SARA, politics, Indonesian lawlessness, perversion broadcast behavior guidelines, broadcast program standard and pornography.
- Participants are responsible for all copyright issues or matters relating to the creation and ownership of the registered work.
- The maximum number of participants in 1 team is 6 participants.
1 (one) participant could include a maximum of 2 (two) films with different teams.
- Participants must attach Credit Title.
- Short films included are at least the last 4 years (counting years 2020 to 2023).
- Submissions must include English subtitles (English films are no exception).
- The best and selected films will be contacted by the committee and have the opportunity to be included to attend film screenings (screening) at the International Photography and Short Movie Festival (IPSMF) in Bandung, Indonesia.
- Committee has the right to disqualify short films before, during, and after the judging takes place if there are found works that conceptually the making and presentation are considered to violate the rules and conditions.
- By joining this competition, participants gave the committee the right to use short films for the purposes of publication of the competition, documentation and screening of films (screening) which will be utilized by the International Photography and Short Movie Festival (IPSMF).
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA :
1. This assessment was carried out by a Judges Team determined by the International Photography and Short Movie Festival (IPSMF) committee.
2. Films received in accordance with the specified deadline will be selected by the committee and curator team.
3. The judges' decision will be final.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION :
- This competition is allowed for public and students (amateur and professional).

- Participants could take part in competitions based on the theme “The Beauty of Diversity: - Exploring the Cultures Through a Multicultural Lens” with a choice of sub themes (Digital-Social Culture, Culture Heritage, and Urban Space).
- All Participants could only register with 2 (two) works maximum.
- Photos are original works and may not use image/ photo material that are released as copyright.
- The submitted photo works are the last 3 years (counting years from 2020 to 2023).
- Model release and property release are entirely participant’s responsibility.
- Participants are responsible if there is a claim from the third side for the photos or works that submitted to the competition at a later time.
- The works could not contain SARA, politics, Indonesian lawlessness, perversion broadcast behavior guidelines, broadcast program standard and pornography.
- The works should no watermark/photo identity in any format.
- Photos editing (color grading) is allowed but only for quality enhancements, it is not allowed to manipulated photos such as adding elements and design graphics.
- Participants could use any camera such as DSLR, Mirrorless, Pocket Camera, Analog, and Smartphone to take the picture.
- The best and selected photos will be calling by the committee and will continue to be included in the photo exhibition at the International Photography and Short Movie Festival (IPSMF) in Bandung, Indonesia.
- The committee has the right to disqualify photos before, during and after judging, if there is found the photography works that violate the rules by concept making, presentation and also breaks the terms and conditions.
- By participating in this competition, participants give the right to all committee to use photographs for the purposes of publication of the competition, documentation and photo exhibitions that will be used by the International Photography and Short Movie Festival (IPSMF)
SELECTION OF WORKS AND JUDGING :
1. This assessment is carried out by the Judges Team are determined by the International Photography and Short Movie Festival (IPSMF) committee.
2. Photos are received within the specified deadline will be selected by the committee and curator team.
3. The judge’s decision cannot be contested.
