Rules 11th #NarrarelFuturo: Film & New Media Festival
(Bogota, September 10th to 15th, 2024)
1. INTRODUCTION
A question that arises year after year around the curatorship and general concept of our festival is “What is the future?” and the answers we find always lead us to more and better questions, feeding our curiosity and desire to explore the unknown. The future is still a scenario to be thought, built and relativized collectively.
For us as #NarrarElFuturo, the future is a place of thought, of construction, a physical and digital place that is narrated from the past and from the present, a place unexplored, chaotic, fragmented and at the same time magical and powerful. A meeting platform for the expression of visions, stories and perspectives related to what is to come and where creativity and imagination are our compasses, allowing us to address future issues from technological, social, cultural and environmental angles.
With the concept of “THE FUTURE” as the structural basis of our curatorial narrative, we maintain and enhance our two main sections: “Stories of the Future” and “The Future is Now”.
Both sections receive content in live action, animation and mixed formats and are open to any narrative genre.
2. SECTIONS
SECTION “STORIES OF THE FUTURE” (FILMS).
“Tales of the Future”: Section focused on film projects (Short and Feature Films), where we are looking for films that talk about and connect with the future in many ways: fantasy films, futurism and science fiction - the most obvious ones - but also many other views of the future from the most varied formats, genres and themes.
The participating films must speak of the future, of the many possibilities that come in this new era, of all those possible universes that opened up with the quasi-end of the world that we have been living globally in recent years, speculative narratives, stories of innovation and technology and films that address and reflect on the most varied scenarios of human beings, society and its transformations.
