MASHO Awards 2025 – Short Film Competition: “Homelessness”!
Are you a filmmaker or a cinema lover with a powerful story to tell?
Take part in the MASHO Awards 2025 with your short film about homelessness and become part of a voice that raises awareness.

INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR ENTRIES
General Guidelines and Awards
1. Participants:
Individuals over 18 years of age, whether national or international, are eligible to participate.
2. Theme:
The short films must address the theme of people experiencing homelessness. Subtopics may include: depression, repressed emotions, childhood wounds, addictions, and other circumstances related to this situation.
3. Duration of the Short Film:
The short films must have a minimum duration of 3 minutes and a maximum of 15 minutes.
4. Language:
The short films must be in Spanish. If they include dialogues in other languages, they must contain Spanish subtitles.
5. Originality:
The works may be produced specifically for this call.
Or may have been created up to two years prior to this call (as long as they adhere to the stated theme).
6. Rights:
Participants must hold the rights to use any third-party images, music, or other elements included in their short films.
7. Production and Delivery Format:
The short films may be recorded with any device (video cameras, mobile phones, tablets, etc.).
The works must be submitted in Full HD format (1920 x 1080) via a public YouTube or Vimeo link, or alternatively, provide the access password in the submission email.

9. Submission:
Deadline: From January 6 to June 22, 2025.
Fee: We want your path to success to be open from the start, so we’ve listened to you. This year, there will be no submission fee, so you can take this opportunity to showcase your talent to all of Hispanic America.
The person listed in the registration form will be the only one contacted regarding any inquiries about the short film and/or participation.
10. Submission Requirements:
Short films may be produced at any time, as long as they are submitted by July 7, 2025.
When submitting your short film, you must send an email to info@escudocorona.com with the following:
-- URL of your short film (if private, include the password)
-- A JPG photo of the director
-- The technical sheet of the short film in PDF format
-- The screenplay of the short film in PDF format
11. Selection:
A panel of national and international experts will evaluate the entries and select the 10 best short films (total) to participate in the Awards Gala.
12. Date, Venue of the Gala, and Awards:
The Awards Gala will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025.
Centro de las Artes, TEC, located in Cartago Province, Costa Rica.

13. Rights and Responsibilities:
Participants guarantee that their works do not infringe the rights of third parties.
Authors grant EscudoCorona the rights to exhibit and/or reproduce the short films within the scope of the competition and its promotion, while retaining recognition of their authorship.
