Rurales. Festival De Cine Y Cortometraje En El Medio Rural Y Natural. 4ª Edición. (4)

Ruido Interno, performing and visual arts, organizes the 4th Rural Film and Short Film Festival, which will be held in the town of Espinama, in the Camaleño Valley, Cantabria, from August 29 to September 31, 2025.

The competitive section is announced according to the following rules:

Three categories are established:

. Fiction and animation short film section.

. Documentary section.

. Video art and other languages ​​section (virtual reality, 360 videos, etc.).

Submissions may not exceed 30 minutes.

Each author may submit one entry in only one category.

All entries must refer to at least 70% of the rural and natural environment, environmental issues, and environmental awareness and conservation in their storytelling. Audiovisual productions that showcase or reflect on social, cultural, and anthropological aspects of the rural world will be considered.

All works produced after January 1, 2022, may be submitted. Any individual or group of individuals directly associated with the organization or sponsors are excluded. Likewise, productions with advertising or tourism content may not be submitted.

There are no language restrictions for submissions; Spanish subtitles are an essential requirement, whenever applicable.

The following prizes are established:

. Fiction and Animation Short Film Award: €1,000. Documentary Award: €1,000.

. Video Art Award: Other Languages: €1,000.

All prizes will be subject to the corresponding withholdings/VAT in accordance with current Spanish legislation.

The Jury reserves the right to award any runner-up prizes or mentions it deems appropriate (without monetary compensation). Some prizes may be declared void due to a shortage or lack of submitted works.

The prizes will be paid as soon as possible, aiming to be paid within the current year.

The organization reserves the right to award other prizes and mentions proposed by local, regional, or national institutions and organizations, with both the type of prize and the delivery thereof being agreed upon with the organization.

6. The deadline for submissions is July 21, 2025.

7. Submissions may be made by digitally submitting the work to ruidointerno@gmail.com or by creating a link to view it. The technical information and a summary of the director's CV must be attached. It is also at the discretion of the authors to include relevant information about the proposal.

8. The organization will select the finalists from among the received works to participate in the festival's competition section, which will be screened during the festival.

9. The festival will invite the director, or a designated representative related to the work, of each of the winning proposals in each section to the festival awards ceremony. This invitation will include one night's accommodation and the corresponding subsistence allowance for that night. Travel will be at the winner's expense.

10. The representatives of the selected works will be notified before August 30th.

11. The selected works will be screened in digital format, using a .mov or .mp4 file provided by the authors. Photographic material and technical information will also be included for program development and media dissemination. Virtual Reality or 360° pieces must be for Oculus Quest 2 devices.

12. The winning works will become part of the festival archive and may be used in exhibitions for educational, teaching, or outreach purposes, without profit motive, provided the authors are kept informed. Any other option will be discussed.

The representatives or authors of the selected works authorize the organization to use excerpts from them to promote the festival in the media and on social networks.

13. The organization will appoint a jury of experts and industry professionals, who will be responsible for deciding the winners in each category.

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS

19. The organization may use the winning works in educational and didactic exhibitions, without profit motive, always keeping the authors informed.

20. Participants guarantee that they are responsible, own the rights, and are aware of the authorship and originality of all elements of the submitted works (music, images, appearances of actors, etc.).
The organization is exempt from all liability regarding the rights to the films and payments generated by them.

21. All selected entries must sign a document accepting the rules for the selection to be effective.

22. Participation and selection of a work in the festival implies acceptance of the competition rules. The organization reserves the right to interpret and apply these rules in special situations.
