INTERNATIONAL. The Siero Women Fest is an independent&international film festival whose aim is to make visible, celebrate, and promote the role of women in the cinematic and social spheres, both in front of and behind the camera.
The purpose of the festival is to encourage film creation, production, and culture through short films, giving voice to stories that explore women identity, experiences, and realities in all their dimensions — personal, social, professional, or symbolic.
Cash Prizes: 300€
SIERO WOMEN FEST Award for Best Short Film: €300.
Jury Special Mention: No monetary prize.
1. GENERAL CONDITIONS
1.1 All short films of national or international production that meet the requirements of these rules are eligible to participate.
1.2 Only fiction works focused on women — their environment, challenges, or representation in society — in any of their forms or perspectives will be accepted.
1.3 The maximum running time shall not exceed 30 minutes (including credits).
1.4 Films must have been produced after January 1, 2023.
2. SUBMISSION CONDITIONS
2.1 Each participant may submit as many short films as they wish, provided that they have not been selected in the previous edition.
2.2 Films must be submitted exclusively through the online platform Festhome.
2.3 If a film is officially selected for competition, the organization will request a copy (or a non-expiring download link) in one of the following formats: .mov, .wmv, .avi, .mp4 (H.264), .mkv, with a minimum resolution of 1080p.
2.4 Films must be submitted in their original language. If this is not Spanish (Castilian), they must include Spanish subtitles.
2.5 The submission deadline is February 28, 2026.
2.6 Films that have been selected and/or awarded in the previous edition will not be accepted.
2.7 A copy of each submitted and/or selected short film will remain in the festival’s archive, forming part of its documentation and may be used for non-profit cultural purposes.
3. SELECTION COMMITTEE AND JURY
3.1 Among all the works received, a selection committee appointed by the organization will choose the films that will form part of the Official Competition Section.
3.2 The official jury will be composed of renowned professionals from the fields of culture, art, and cinema.
3.3 The jury will grant the awards established in these rules and may, if deemed appropriate, give a Special Mention to an outstanding work.
3.4 The decisions of the committee and jury are final and will be communicated to the selected participants via email and through the festival’s official channels (website, social media, and media outlets).
3.5 Should the jury consider that no film meets the required quality, the award may be declared void.
3.6 Jury deliberations are secret, personal, and irrevocable.
4. Awards
4.1 Categories:
SIERO WOMEN FEST Award for Best Short Film: €300.
Jury Special Mention: No monetary prize.
4.2 The prize will be paid by bank transfer to the account provided by the winner, within a maximum of six months after the festival date.
4.3 All prizes are subject to applicable tax deductions.
4.4 Winners must submit the required documentation within 7 calendar days after notification. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the cash prize, though the title of winner will remain.
5. COPYRIGHT AND SCREENING RIGHTS
5.1 Selected participants authorize the public screening of their works during the festival and waive any economic rights arising from such exhibition.
5.2 The festival may use images, fragments, or audio excerpts from the selected short films for promotional and cultural purposes through social networks, local television, or similar media.
5.3 The films will be screened exclusively within the framework of the festival, except for fragments used for promotional or cultural purposes.
5.4 The festival organization assumes that the producers or directors hold all necessary exhibition rights. Therefore, the organization, sponsors, and collaborators shall be exempt from any liability arising from non-compliance with this clause.
5.5 Any situations not covered by these rules will be resolved by the festival organization, and its decisions will be final.
FINAL NOTE
Participation in the Siero Women Fest implies full acceptance of these rules.
The organization reserves the right to modify organizational aspects if necessary to improve the event’s development.

Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
