The 9th edition of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival will take place in the city of Benidorm, from March 29 to April 5, 2025, in the city of Benidorm (Spain).

The headquarters of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival is located at the following address: Plaza de S.S.M.M. los Reyes de España 1, Benidorm (Alicante), and its official website www.skylinefest.es provides detailed contact information.

Through a cultural project with a future vision, the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival aims to promote,
disseminate, professionalize, and enhance short film cinema.

ARTICLE 1. DATES

The 9th edition of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival will take place in the city of Benidorm, from
March 29 to April 5, 2025.

ARTICLE 2. REQUIREMENTS

Fiction, animation, and documentary works that have a maximum duration of 30 minutes and were
produced after October 1, 2023, may compete. It will be positively valued if the short film premieres
at the festival. Short films may compete in the following sections:

• National Official Section – Goya awards Qualifier
Only short films of Spanish nationality with official ICAA certification prior to the festival
may participate.

• International Official Section
Short films produced in any country in the world, except Spain and Latin America, may
participate. Films should preferably be submitted with Spanish subtitles, although viewing
copies with english subtitles will also be accepted.

• Ibero-American Official Section
Short films produced in any Latin American country may participate.

• Young Filmmakers Section
National competition of short films directed by students under 25 years old. The duration
may not exceed 20 minutes, and the theme must revolve around gender equality and/or
integration.

• Best Valencian Short Film Award
All short films in the National Official Section may participate, provided that the production
company has its fiscal domicile in the Valencian Community or if the director is a resident or
native of the Valencian Community.

ARTICLE 3. REGISTRATIONS

The registration period begins on September 18, 2024, and will remain open until December 9, 2024.
Each author may submit a maximum of two works.

National Official Section:

Hasta el 30 de noviembre de 2024, la tasa de inscripción será de 7€.

Ibero-American Official Section:

Until November 30, 2024, the registration fee will be €10.

From December 1 to December 9, 2024, the late registration fee will be €20.

International Official Section:

Until November 30, 2024, the registration fee will be €15.

From December 1 to December 9, 2024, the late registration fee will be €30.

Young Filmmakers Section:

Until December 9, 2024. Fee exempt.

The prizes will be paid by bank transfer in favor of the person or entity that registered the work or
is directly linked to the submitted work, subject to the legal withholdings established by current law.

The trophies and awards will be presented at the final gala to the director, producer, or
representative of each winning short film. The festival will not cover the shipping costs for trophies of non-attendees.

Once the festival announces the payment for selection and/or prizes, the interested parties will have a period of four months to submit the required documentation. After this period, no claims can be
made to the festival.

ARTICLE 5. PAYMENT FOR SELECTION
The organization will pay all selected short films in the National Official Section €200 as a selection
fee and exhibition rights.

Participation in the festival implies the transfer of image distribution rights within the festival’s
scope, which will be archived by the organization if deemed appropriate and by mutual agreement
with the owners.

Authors must inform the organization if they are part of the SGAE or any other copyright management society. The festival will not be liable if this information is not provided.

All cash prizes awarded by the festival or its sponsors are subject to the tax restrictions established by law.

ARTICLE 6. SELECTION OF WORKS

One month before the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival, the organization will notify the selected
participants for the various festival sections. The selected films must confirm their participation
within 72 hours of the festival’s communication.

The producer or representative who confirms the film's participation in the festival will be
responsible for communicating this to institutions, companies, sales agents, and other professionals
involved in the production and/or distribution of the film.

The selection of each film by the festival will be strictly confidential between the festival management and the producers or representatives until the festival decides to announce it officially and publicly.

ARTICLE 7. JURIES

The various juries will be composed of prominent professionals from the film industry and will be
responsible for awarding the prizes.

Each jury may declare a prize void and may also award a special mention if deemed appropriate,
without financial compensation.

No person with an interest in the production or exhibition of the films they must evaluate may serve
as a jury member.

The decisions of the juries are final.

ARTICLE 8. SUBMISSION OF SCREENING AND PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS

The festival reserves the right not to accept copies that, after review by the technical department, are
deemed unsuitable for screening.

The organization will inform the film representatives of any issues with the copies.

All required materials must be submitted via download link by February 3, 2025.

ARTICLE 9. GENERAL RULES

The festival will determine the format and screening schedule, whether in-person or hybrid.

The festival selection committee will choose the works for the competitive official section and the
other sections, informing all participants of the results.

The festival may withdraw any film at any time if it fails to comply with the festival's rules. False
production data will result in the film's removal from the section if selected.

The festival will cover the accommodation and meal expenses of one representative for each film
selected in the National Official Section during the days invited to the festival. If the guest wishes to
bring a companion, the extra cost will not be covered by the festival.

The festival may screen selected short films at its venues during the festival and in parallel screenings
throughout the year, up to five sessions, always informing the authors and obtaining their consent
beforehand.

The director, producer, or representative of the selected work will participate in a post-screening
discussion.

Short films competing in the National Official Section, whose director or producer is Valencian, will also be eligible for the Best Valencian Short Film Award.

ARTICLE 10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The author or owner retains intellectual rights and is responsible for ensuring there are no legal
liabilities or third-party rights.

Submitting a short film to the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival entails the non-exclusive transfer of
the material to the organization for use in festival-sponsored activities.

All received documentation will become part of the festival's archive.

ARTICLE 11. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES

Submitting a film to the festival implies acceptance of these rules.

Any unforeseen matters will be resolved by the festival organization.

These rules are subject to possible modifications and/or annexes due to reasons beyond the
organization’s control.
