Subtravelling puts cinema back in motion. A pioneering festival that transforms the TMB transport network into the perfect setting to discover unique stories in short film format. Featuring two sections:

Roda a TMB - Amateur short film competition for film and audiovisual students, as well as emerging young talents from April 29 to September 21, 2026.
La Mostra Internacional - Short film voting competition from October 1 to November 15, 2026. The audience will be able to vote for the Best Short Film of La Mostra Internacional, with daily cinema ticket giveaways… and the chance to win a whole year of free cinema!

"Roda a TMB" Awards

✓ First Prize

▪ Trip to Seoul for two people with round-trip tourist class flights.

▪ Double room in at least a three-star hotel with bed and breakfast accommodation in Seoul.

The accreditations and passes will be provided for the dates on which the edition of the D'A Barcelona Film Festival immediately following the awards ceremony of the 2026 Subtravelling Festival edition takes place.

▪ Up to 5 VIP accreditations for the entire Americana Film Fest program. Invitations and accreditations will be provided for the dates on which the edition of the Americana Film Fest following the Subtravelling Festival edition takes place.

IMPORTANT: The winners will be able to attend the awards ceremony of the SMIFF festival and watch their short film at the gala; it is an important part of the Subtravelling festival.

11. Prize Conditions

If for any reason beyond its control TMB cannot provide the mentioned prize, it will provide another prize of equal or greater value.

The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or any other prize.

TMB is not responsible for the use made by the winner of the prize.

TMB is not responsible for any incident occurring after delivery of the prize.

TMB is not responsible for defects in operation, damages or deterioration, nor for variations, absence or deficient provision of the service constituting the prize once delivered to the winner, who must contact the manufacturer, official distributor, wholesaler, agency or service provider.

Winners may enjoy the prizes according to the conditions of use and within the validity period.

The prize is personal and non-transferable, and may only be used by the participant who wins the contest and one companion in the case of prize(s) consisting of a trip.

All expenses to attend the awards ceremony (travel, accommodation and meals, among others, by way of example and not limitation) shall be borne by those concerned.

The prizes only include the products or services explicitly indicated in these Rules.

Persons included in the list of the ten finalists must attend the public awards ceremony, if held. TMB must verify the identification data of the winners through the JoTMBé registration. Any falsity or contradiction in the data is grounds for disqualification of the winner and TMB reserves the right to declare the prize void or choose another winner.

If the finalist cannot attend the awards ceremony, they may delegate their attendance to a family member and/or friend. If delegation is also not possible, TMB will contact the winner to agree on the terms of prize collection.

From the moment a winner receives a prize consisting of a trip, they have a maximum period of 15 days to complete all procedures to set the travel dates, either with the person or institution indicated by the organization of the Subtravelling Festival.

The trips include two round-trip tourist class airline tickets and hotel accommodation with breakfast in a minimum three-star hotel.

The first prize, consisting of a trip to Seoul for two people, must take place on the dates of the 2026 SMIFF festival. These dates may be modified or altered at the request of the SMIFF festival organization.

The double tickets from the daily draw and the annual Filmax Gran Vía cinema pass, raffled on the last day of voting among voters of La Mostra Internacional, are personal and non-transferable. The holder of the pass must prove their identity by presenting their original ID card at the Filmax Gran Vía box offices. These daily tickets and the annual pass may be modified or altered at the request of the Filmax organization.

In both the case of double cinema tickets and the annual cinema pass, all special events are excluded.

Access is subject to theater availability; Filmax Gran Vía cinema reserves the right to modify conditions due to distributor requirements.

Winners may enjoy the prizes according to the conditions of use and within the validity period.

The prizes only include the products or services expressly indicated.

CONTEST RULES "RODA A TMB" OF THE XVI INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FEST | BCN-SEOUL-2026

1. Purpose

FUNDACIÓ TMB (Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona), with tax ID number G-65395089 and registered office at calle 60, no. 21-23, sector A, Zona Franca industrial estate, 08010 Barcelona, with the collaboration of TRANSPORTS DE BARCELONA, SA, with tax ID number A-08016081, and FERROCARRIL METROPOLITÀ DE BARCELONA, SA, with tax ID number A-08005795 (hereinafter, TB and Metro, respectively, and TMB when jointly designated)organize a contest called Roda a TMB within the XVI edition of the Subtravelling International Short Film Fest | BCN SEOUL.

2. duration of the "Roda a TMB" Contest

This contest begins at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, April 29 and ends at 11:59 PM on Monday, September 21, 2026.

3. Participation Conditions in "Roda a TMB"

To participate in this contest, it is essential to previously comply with the following conditions:

Be at least 18 years old.
Be the author of the short film.
Have legal residence in Spain.
Be a member of the JoTMBé club and therefore have read and accepted the terms and conditions.

Be registered as a participant in this contest on the website http://subtravellingfestival.tmb.cat/ca/

Guarantee that all the data in the registration forms, both for JoTMBé and participation in this contest, are truthful and complete. Participants must also keep them updated.

Participants who wish to film in order to participate in "Roda a TMB" in any TMB facility must request the corresponding filming permit 72 hours in advance. The form can be found on the Subtravelling website. The permit will be accepted provided that it complies with the filming regulations found on the Subtravelling website and described in these Rules.

4. Registration in "Roda a TMB"

and the technical sheet of the submitted recording (title, director, genre, brief synopsis, credits).

The participation period begins at 12:00 PM on April 29, 2026 and ends at 11:59 PM on September 21, 2026.

Participation in this contest is free and does not require the purchase of any product or acquisition of any service.


5. Dynamics of the "Roda a TMB" Contest

It is an amateur (non-professional) short film contest. It is aimed at film and audiovisual students and emerging young talents, as well as users of TMB transport services.

A short film is understood to mean an unpublished and original audiovisual recording filmed and edited by the participant, whether fiction, reality, documentary or 2D-3D animation or stop motion, that complies with the conditions established in these Rules.

The theme is free, on the condition that the short film is inspired by or takes place in the metro or any of the other transport services operated by TMB: buses, funicular, cable car, tourist bus or AMBici bicycle service. Transport services provided by operators other than TMB are expressly excluded.

It should be noted that the TMB metro system is limited to lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 North, 9 South, 10 North, 10 South and 11.

Short films may be recorded using any lightweight recording device, whether camera or smartphone.

The use of tripods inside TMB facilities and transport vehicles is prohibited.
Spotlights and boom microphones are not permitted. Nor is any other instrument that may obstruct the passage of users. Filming must be carried out with lightweight devices, and manual stabilizers and the sound and lighting recording systems built into such devices, whether cameras or smartphones, may be used.

Filming outside metro operating hours or inside tunnels or work areas and internal metro staff facilities is not permitted.

• The Barcelona metro opens every day at 05:00 AM. From Monday to Thursday and Sundays it operates until 12:00 AM. Fridays and public holiday eves it closes at 02:00 AM.

Filming inside TMB metro facilities may be carried out provided that the corresponding filming permit is requested and the established regulations are complied with, which can be found on the Subtravelling website:

No filming permit is required to film at street-level metro entrances.

A filming permit must also be requested for filming on the Funicular and the Montjuïc Cable Car.

Inside TMB facilities and transport services, the filming crew (adding both the technical team and the artistic team or cast) may not consist of more than four people.

Submitted short films may not contain scenes, messages or representations that:

• Include gratuitous or explicit violence

• Incite hatred, discrimination or violence based on birth, racial or ethnic origin, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion or beliefs, opinion, disability, age or any other personal or social condition or circumstance.

• Violate fundamental rights and public freedoms recognized in current legislation.

• Attack the dignity of persons or promote humiliating, offensive or degrading content.

• Include content that may constitute a criminal offense.

The author(s) or person(s) responsible for filming the short film shall be solely responsible for ensuring full respect for the fundamental rights to honor, personal and family privacy and one’s own image, as well as compliance with current regulations regarding personal data protection, in relation to all individuals who may appear in the recorded images, especially users of the transport services of Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB).

In particular, the author declares knowledge of and undertakes to comply with the provisions of Organic Law 1/1982, of May 5, on civil protection of the right to honor, personal and family privacy and one’s own image, as well as Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the rest of the applicable regulations regarding data protection.

In the event that identified or identifiable individuals appear in the short film, the author must have previously obtained their express, specific, informed and written consent for the capture, reproduction, distribution, public communication and any other form of exploitation of their image within the framework of the contest and any related dissemination activities.

The author guarantees that they possess all necessary authorizations and rights transfers and shall hold TMB harmless against any claim, complaint, sanction, damage or harm that may arise from unauthorized capture or use of the image or personal data of third parties. Consequently, any liability arising from a possible violation of image rights or data protection regulations shall be entirely assumed by the author of the short film, with the express exclusion of any liability on the part of TMB.

Short films submitted outside the registration period indicated in these Rules and on the Contest website will not be accepted. If the participation period is extended, it will be duly announced on the website and in the Contest Rules.

Each participant or team may submit more than one short film.

Submitted short films must be unpublished in the Subtravelling Festival. A short film previously submitted in an earlier edition may not be submitted again, although they may have been submitted to other festivals.

Once submitted, short films may not be modified or replaced.

Participating short films will be uploaded to the Subtravelling website and the official YouTube channel of Subtravelling and TMB.

6. Conditions of the Short Films

• Short films submitted by participants must be original and unpublished. Detection by the Jury of any total or partial plagiarism in the creation of the short films shall be grounds for disqualification of the submitted short film.

• Images appearing in the short film may not be generated by Artificial Intelligence.

• Submitted short films must be original and unpublished for the XVI edition of the Subtravelling Festival.

• The maximum duration of the short film shall be 3 minutes and 30 seconds, including credits. Any short film exceeding this duration will not be accepted.

• Short films may be made in video formats compatible with the YouTube platform, but should preferably be made in MP4 format.

• Another format may be requested from the participant if reproduction on TMB media is not possible.

• The maximum audio requirements are as follows:

Audio codec: MPEG Layer II or Dolby AC3
Audio bitrate: 128 kbps or higher
Video resolution must be 1,080 px
(1,920x1,080).

• Vertical or horizontal recordings may be used.

• Short films containing archive footage, sound effects or music must comply with intellectual property law. TMB is not responsible for any complaint due to non-compliance with this law and the short film may be disqualified.

• TMB reserves the right to request finalists to submit the short film in a format that allows screening during the awards ceremony.

• Each short film must be accompanied by a Technical Sheet stating the title of the short film, date, synopsis (in english) and name(s) of the author(s).

• TMB may subsequently request a copy of the short film in another format for public screening.

• Short films not in Catalan or Spanish must be subtitled in Catalan or Spanish, and those in Catalan or Spanish must be subtitled in english. The festival organization may request the subtitled short film or the raw version together with the .srt files. If the short film is not received within 6 days, it may be disqualified.

• Short films or videos containing archive footage, sound effects or music must comply with intellectual property law. TMB is not responsible for any complaint arising from non-compliance with this law, and the short film or video may be disqualified due to any complaint or indication of misuse or plagiarism.

• By participating in this contest, contestants guarantee that the short films are original recordings of their creation and that they hold all intellectual property rights, free of any lien or encumbrance.

• Short films or videos that affect the proper functioning of public transport or contain scenes with conduct contrary to current regulations and especially to the proper use of public transport shall not be accepted, nor conduct that promotes or encourages the use of tobacco, alcoholic beverages or toxic or narcotic substances or that involves unlawful, uncivil or vandalistic acts or promotes or provokes such actions.

• TMB reserves the right not to accept entries considered inappropriate in language or content, or that reproduce or partially or totally copy any other content published online or on any other medium, online or offline, or form of exploitation.


7. Jury and Selection of Winners

Josep Maria Machado: TMB employee and director of Americana Film Fest.
Marc Orts, artistic director of FILMETS Badalona Film Festival.
Aintza Serra, screenwriter, producer and head of curricula at ESCAC.

The selection of winners is carried out as follows:

A. Pre-selection of 20 short films.

Among all participants accepted into the competition, the festival organization will make a pre-selection of 20 short films, of which only 10 will be finalists and proceed to the jury’s final evaluation.

B. From the 10 finalists of "Roda a TMB", the jury will choose:

✓ The best short film.

✓ The second best short film.

✓ The third best short film.

The jury will score the 10 short films, and in the event of a tie in scores between several participants, the score of the President of the Jury will first be taken into account. If a tie still exists, the score of the next Jury member in the order of appearance in these Rules will be taken into account.

8. Screening of the "Roda a TMB" Short Films

The 10 finalist short films will be screened during the 2026 edition of the Seoul Metro International Subway Film Festival (SMIFF) and on Mou TV screens.

The 20 pre-selected short films may be screened, depending on the agreements established in each edition of the Festival, on the network of local television stations Xarxa Audiovisual Local (XAL), at the D'A Barcelona Film Festival, and on Badalona local TV, provided that the programming and management of the channels and festival so consider, together with TMB. Details of these screenings will depend on the schedules and dates of the festivals.

on its social media, on the Subtravelling and TMB YouTube channels and on the MouTV channel until TMB considers appropriate.

All short films or a random selection may be viewed on the content platform of the local TV network (XAL).

9. awards Ceremony

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held during the last week of November or the first week of December 2026. They will also be announced after the event on the website: subtravellingfestival.tmb.cat or through any other communication channel that TMB considers appropriate.

If finalists cannot attend the awards ceremony, they may delegate their attendance and possible prize collection to a family member or close friend. If delegation is also not possible, TMB will contact them to arrange collection of the possible prize.

All information related to this event will be communicated to finalists in advance.
Disclaimer of Liability

12. TMB shall not be responsible:

For the consequences, accidents, incidents or aftereffects that participants or third parties may suffer during the production of the short films.

For requirements or permits of any kind related to the short films required by administrative authorities. TMB is also not responsible for measures that such authorities may take against participants for non-compliance with required conditions.

For damages or harm of any kind and for any reason caused by participants to TMB, its employees or third parties, directly or indirectly derived from participation in the contest, especially and merely by way of example, those derived from non-compliance with these rules, the instructions and recommendations given by TMB or current regulations.

For sanctions, compensation and any type of payment directly or indirectly derived from the actions or omissions of participants.

For internet access, availability and operation problems and especially email and the portals through which the contest is conducted.

For schedule, calendar and organization changes of this contest.

For any incident occurring after delivery of the prize. Claims relating to the prize must be directed to the manufacturer or official distributor of the product constituting the prize, or to the wholesaler, agency or service provider.

13. Reservations and Limitations

TMB reserves the right to cancel or suspend this contest, or change some conditions for technical reasons or any other reasons beyond its control that prevent its normal development, as stipulated in these rules.

Likewise, TMB may declare this contest void if it detects irregularities in the identification data of prize-winning contestants.

TMB is not responsible for the truthfulness of the data provided by participants.

Therefore, if the data provided are incorrect or contain errors, TMB shall not be responsible for being unable to contact finalists or winners to communicate the result or manage prize delivery with them.

Any abusive or fraudulent use of these rules by participants implies the automatic disqualification of affected participants.

By submitting the short film, in accordance with these rules, participants guarantee that they are the authors and holders of all intellectual property rights of the short films and that the short films are original and unpublished, also that they are free of any lien or encumbrance and not subject to contracts, assignments or licenses in favor of third parties incompatible with the exercise of the rights contestants assign to TMB through participation in this contest.

In any case, participants must hold TMB harmless from any claim, complaint or demand from third parties directly or indirectly derived from participation in this contest and especially from non-compliance with these rules and current regulations.

14. Intellectual Property

Participation in this contest implies assignment in favor of TMB of the following exploitation rights derived from the short films:

Reproduction right: any form of direct or indirect, temporary or permanent fixation, by any means and in any form that allows communication and obtaining copies, of all or part, on any graphic, digital, mechanical, electronic, reprographic, audiovisual or other medium or system.

Public communication right: any form of access to the public without distribution of copies, by any medium or technical system, interactive or not, wired or wireless, satellite, optical fiber, hertzian waves, analog or digital, etc., for projection, exhibition, broadcasting or public transmission in any TMB communication medium (internet, intranet, MouTV channel and profiles on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) and other communication media with which TMB has agreements or which serve for exhibition or publicity of the festival.

Transformation right: the right to dub or subtitle the short films into any language and the reproduction and public communication of resulting works.

Assignment of rights: short films participating in Roda a TMB and accepted into competition shall assign reproduction and distribution rights in the following cases:

• Assignment of reproduction and distribution rights of all accepted short films in Roda a TMB to the local television network for a period of two years from the awards ceremony.

• Regarding the ten finalist short films, for screening at the 2026 edition of the Seoul Metro International Subway Film Festival (SMIFF), for a period of one year.

• Assignment of reproduction and distribution rights to some collaborators of the festival that may organize a specific screening of Roda a TMB.

• Assignment of these rights to TMB shall be free of charge, worldwide and for a period of five years, on a non-exclusive basis and without prejudice to recognition of the moral rights corresponding to the authors.

15. Image Rights

Participants authorize TMB to disseminate their names and surnames and, if they attend the awards ceremony, also for their image or voice to be captured, reproduced and published by any means, including internet and any other interactive medium, for management of this contest or future editions, as well as for other advertising campaigns or promotions or any other activity carried out by TMB, without such authorization granting any right to remuneration.

17. Prize Taxation

In accordance with current regulations, the winner of the prize must include in the general taxable base of the corresponding fiscal year income tax return the valuation of the prize plus the payment into account made by TMB.

18. Acceptance of the Rules

Participants are informed that the mere fact of participating in the contest implies full acceptance of these rules, the instructions and other communications or recommendations made by TMB to participants, as well as compliance with the terms of use of the portals through which the contest is conducted and all current regulations.

Any breach results in disqualification of the participant and therefore inability to receive any prize to which they may be entitled, without prejudice to any legal actions that may be exercised against the infringer, as well as TMB’s right to remove from the website http://subtravellingfestival.tmb.cat/ca/ the link to the infringing participant’s short film and also from the YouTube portal.
