The Secretary of Culture and Education of the Municipality of Rosario, through Punto Audiovisual, announces the call to participate in the 29th edition of the Rosario Latin American Film Festival, which will take place from October 2 to 6, 2024, in the city of Rosario, Argentina.

The Festival has four (4) competitive categories:

Latin American Feature Film Competition
Santa Fe Feature Film Competition
Latin American Short Film Competition
Rosarinos Short Film Competition

The festival awards a diploma and statuette to the winners of each competition.

3.4 Award by genre: Best documentary short film, Best fiction short film, Best animated short film and Best experimental short film.

3.5 Rosarino Best Short Film Award

3.6 Best Short Film Award from Film Schools

3.7 Secretariat of Culture and Education Award for the Short Film most voted for by the public.

Special awards

3.8 RAFMA Edgardo “Pipo” Bechara El Khoury Award for best Argentine short film

3.9 “Viviana Nardoni” Award for the Best Film on Human Rights

29TH ROSARIO LATIN AMERICAN FILM FESTIVAL

REGULATIONS FOR COMPETITION
The Secretariat of Culture and Education of the Municipality of Rosario invites you to participate in the 29th edition of the Rosario Latin American Film Festival, which will take place from October 2 to 6, 2024, in the city of Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina.

The Festival has four competitive categories:

Latin American Feature Film Competition
Santa Fe Feature Film Competition
Latin American Short Film Competition
Rosarinos Short Film Competition

1. BASES

1.1 Latin American feature films and short films made from 2023 to the closing date of this call participate.

1.2 Feature films and short films that have not been part of the programming of previous editions of the Festival are admitted, preferably that have not been exhibited in the city of Rosario and are not available on VOD platforms.

1.3 Works can be registered until 11:59 p.m. (Argentine time) on Friday, June 14, 2024 through the Festhome platform www.festhome.com

1.4 The festival does not charge registration fees. Non-Argentine works pay the rate set by the Festhome platform.

1.5 The duration of feature films must be equal to or greater than 60 minutes.

1.6 The duration of the short films must be up to 25 minutes.

1.7 The file must be uploaded with a .mov or .mp4 extension, minimum resolution of 1920 x 1080 px, H264 encoding with a quality of up to 5 GB for short films and up to 20 GB for feature films, without watermark. The file must be available for download for selection purposes.

1.8 Works in a language other than Spanish must be subtitled in Spanish. It is recommended that they not be subtitled in other languages.

1.9 The quality of the file sent must be checked at source, guaranteeing audiovisual legibility. If you do not comply with this requirement or technical failures occur that prevent viewing, you will be automatically disqualified from the contest.

1.10 Works registered by distributors must provide contact information for the direction and/or production of the film.

1.11 Whoever registers the work authorizes the free use of up to ten percent (10%) of it for the promotional exhibition of the Festival.

1.12 The festival does not pay a screening fee.

1.13 All works are evaluated by the Selection Jury.

1.14 The festival requests a screening copy of the selected works according to technical specifications that will be requested from time to time. For the feature film competition, those selected must send a copy in DCP for theatrical screening.

1.15 Once the selection of feature films has been made, the production of each film is requested the Premiere status with which it will be exhibited at the Festival (international, continental, regional, national or local Premiere).

1.16 Works that do not meet the requirements set forth in these bases will not be registered. Likewise, the Festival will resolve without appeal any eventuality not specified in these regulations.

2. JURY

2.1 Selection
The Selection Jury chooses the feature films and short films that make up the Competitions.

2.2 Award
The Festival appoints the Jury that awards the prizes to the Feature Film Competition, Santa Fe Feature Film Competition, Short Film Competition and Rosarino Short Film Competition.

3. prizes
The festival awards a diploma and statuette to the winners of each competition.

3.4 Award by genre: Best documentary short film, Best fiction short film, Best animated short film and Best experimental short film.

3.10 No prize will be void. No shared prizes are awarded.

3.11 The Jury's decision is final.

3.12 All unforeseen cases will be resolved by the organization.

4. CINEMATHEK
All the works presented are incorporated into the Cinematheque of the Secretariat of Culture and Education of the Municipality of Rosario to integrate the Film Festivals Collection, guaranteeing its preservation.

5. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The mere fact of participating in the Contest implies the tacit and total acceptance of the regulations.
