"PLUM!" is an animation festival that celebrates the art of animation in all its forms. It showcases work from both local and international artists, giving the people of Tafí del Valle access to productions they might not otherwise encounter, while also promoting cultural tourism in the region. The festival aims to be a vibrant platform for the exhibition and exchange of animated content—from short films to feature-length works, from traditional techniques to cutting-edge digital animation.

"PLUM!" fosters creativity, dialogue, and collaboration between artists and the broader community.

PLUM! welcomes artistic proposals and the community of audiovisual amateurs and professionals.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. GENERAL CONDITIONS

PLUM! 2026 opens its call for animated audiovisual works and animated screenplays in the competition categories established in these rules.

1.1 Participation is open to individuals or legal entities, of any nationality, individually or collectively, over 18 years of age, through the submission of animated audiovisual works or animated screenplays that meet the requirements set forth in these regulations.

1.2 Participation in the Festival is subject to the submission fees detailed in section 2.2 of these rules.

1.3 The call is open to:

Animated audiovisual works made using any animation technique, completed after January 1st, 2024.

Completed animated screenplays, which may be original or adapted, and which have not been previously produced or released.

2. APPLICATION DATES AND FEES
2.1 APPLICATION DATES

Applications will be accepted according to the following schedule:

Animated Screenplay Competition (Completed Scripts):
from February 15th, 2026 to September 15th, 2026.

Animated Short Films and Music Videos:
from May 15th, 2026 to October 15th, 2026.

The Festival reserves the right to announce the results of the Animated Screenplay Competition prior to the audiovisual Official Selection.

2.2 SUBMISSION FEES
a) Animated Short Film Competitions

Fees vary according to submission deadlines and the country of origin of the work.

Argentina:

Early Bird: USD 1

Regular: USD 3

Late: USD 5

Latin America (excluding Argentina):

Early Bird: USD 9

Regular: USD 9

Late: USD 9

Rest of the World:

Early Bird: USD 10

Regular: USD 15

Late: USD 20

deadlines for Animated Shorts (2026):

Early Bird: May 15th – July 15th

Regular: July 16th – August 15th

Late: August 16th – October 15th

b) Animated Screenplay Competition (Completed Scripts)

Fee: USD 15 - 20- 25

Fees are non-refundable and must be paid exclusively through Festhome.

3. COMPETITION CATEGORIES

International Animated Short Film Competition:
Open to animated short films from anywhere in the world, with no thematic or technical restrictions.
Award: Best International Animated Short Film.

Latin American Animated Short Film Competition:
Open to animated short films produced in Latin America.
Award: Best Latin American Animated Short Film.

International Animated Music Video Competition:
Open to animated music videos from all over the world.
Award: Best International Animated Music Video.

Animated Screenplay Competition (Completed Scripts):
Open to completed animation screenplays from all over the world.
Award: Best Animated Screenplay (Completed Script).

4. REGISTRATION, SUBMISSION AND SELECTION

4.1 Entries must be submitted exclusively through Festhome.

4.2 All submissions will undergo a pre-selection process carried out by the Festival’s Selection Committee. The committee’s decisions are final.

4.3 By submitting a work, applicants fully accept these rules and declare to be the copyright holders or to have express authorization for public exhibition within the Festival.

If the work includes third-party copyrighted material, the applicant declares to have obtained all necessary permissions and releases, and releases the Festival from any legal responsibility.

4.4 The Festival organization reserves the right to resolve any situation not foreseen in these rules.

5. JURY

5.1 The Jury will be composed of professionals from the field of animation, including directors, producers, journalists, cultural managers and representatives of national and international institutions.

5.2 Jury members may not have any direct relationship with the works in competition.

5.3 Jury decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

6. OFFICIAL SELECTION

6.1 The Official Selection will be published on the Festival’s website (www.plumanimationfest.com) and on the official Instagram account @plum.fest. Selected participants will also be notified by email.

6.2 Selected works must authorize the use of trailers or excerpts for promotional purposes.

6.3 Works included in the Official Selection will receive official PLUM! Festival laurels.

6.4 Selected works must comply with the technical specifications, formats and deadlines indicated by the Festival.

6.5 Failure to deliver the final materials on time may result in disqualification.

6.6 Works in languages other than Spanish must include Spanish subtitles, or alternatively english subtitles, provided as a separate file.

6.7 The Festival does not cover travel or accommodation expenses. Letters of support may be issued upon request.

6.8 PLUM! does not pay screening fees. All screenings are free and open to the public.

7. ACCEPTANCE

Participation in the Festival implies full acceptance of these rules. Any matter not contemplated herein will be resolved by the Festival organization in a final and unappealable manner.
