1. OBJECTIVES

The Villa Elisa International Film Festival seeks works that explore and reflect on themes and aesthetics related to borders as shifting territories, the (de)construction of boundaries, and the multiple ways of inhabiting the periphery. In this sense, the festival has a particular, though not exclusive, interest in works that offer various approaches and representations of the suburban area.
Short and feature films of any genre —fiction or documentary— that follow this line are eligible to participate.

2. SECTIONS

National and International Short Film Showcase: Maximum duration: 30 minutes.

National and International Feature Film Showcase: Minimum duration: 31 minutes.

Environmental Cinema: A space focused on environmental education.

Special Activities: A space dedicated to children, in collaboration with El Globo Rojo, an outreach workshop from the Faculty of Arts of the National University of La Plata.

3. GENERAL CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

A. General Requirements:
Participants must be over 18 years old and may be of any nationality.

For the Short Film Section, the maximum duration is 30 minutes.
For the Feature Film Section, the minimum duration is 31 minutes, with no maximum limit.

Audiovisual works may belong to any narrative or non-narrative genre, fiction or documentary, and may have been originally produced in any format.

Works must in some way relate to the festival’s vision and objectives; the festival will program those selected in its various sections.

Audiovisual works in a language other than Spanish must include Spanish subtitles. The festival will not cover subtitling expenses.

Participants authorize the festival and its organizers to publicly disseminate their name, image, and/or voice in any existing or future medium (television, print, internet, etc.), without limitation of time or territory, for the purpose of promoting the festival’s screenings.

Submitted works that do not comply with the general conditions and preselection requirements will not be accepted.

B. Format:
Audiovisual works must be available in .MP4 digital format with a minimum bitrate of 10 Mbps.

4. SUBMISSION AND RECEPTION OF WORKS

Submissions must be made through Festhome.

Participants must first provide a private online viewing link (Vimeo, YouTube, etc.).

If selected, they will be required to send the complete high-quality file in the indicated format.

Submitted works may not be withdrawn from the festival.

5. SELECTED WORKS

Films of all genres may participate.

The list of selected works will be notified by email.

Selected works may display the festival’s official logo on their posters and covers.

Selected works will be included in the festival’s sections as determined by the programming committee.

6. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES AND RIGHTS SECTION

By submitting a film to the festival, the rights holders grant the festival the rights of exhibition and reproduction of the work for the purpose of public screening and promotional dissemination.

Participants authorize the festival to use the submitted material for non-profit promotional purposes, in screenings, forums, or festivals, among others, in partial form only, not exceeding 3 minutes of the original work.

7. RIGHTS OF PARTICIPATING WORKS

Participants declare that they are the sole and legitimate rights holders of the audiovisual works submitted to the festival, whether as authors or assignees.
In the event of false statements or claims by third parties, full responsibility will lie exclusively with the participant who submitted the work, and the festival or its organizers shall bear no liability.

Participants declare that they hold all rights involved in the work.

Participants agree to hold harmless the organizers of the Villa Elisa International Film Festival from any claim regarding ownership of the work and/or lack of authorization concerning the rights contained therein.

8. AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS
