SANTO DOMINGO GLOBAL FILM FESTIVAL
TERMS AND CONDITIONS FILM REGISTRATION
The following terms and conditions (Terms) govern the registration of a cinematographic work (The FILMS) for the Santo Domingo Global Film Festival (FCGSD) (The festival) to be considered in the present edition.
The registration process will be exclusively through the official festival platforms, which will be announced on the call. This document shall precede any other document prepared by FCGSD or anyone else.
Please email any request or concern related to these Terms to FTerms@tamoencine.org.
The awards ceremony will take place on the closing night of this edition of the FCGSD. The winners will receive a certificate as recognition.
The amount of the prizes, if any, will be announced on the opening night of this edition.
The Festival Jury undertakes to view all the films in competition in their respective category to issue their decision. It will act under the guidelines and instructions of the Jury Coordination, which will have the exclusive role of facilitator in the award process and related activities.
The festival assumes all the award decisions of the Jury in an absolute and unappealable manner.
It is undertaken to notify the winners within three (3) days of each edition's results. Likewise, it will use the means it deems necessary for the dissemination of the same, such as social networks, web pages, and any other means of official promotion that will also be considered valid in case it is not able to establish direct communication with the users—representatives of each film for any reason.
THE APPLICANT DECLARES AND UNDERTAKES TO:
By registering a Film for consideration in the Festival, the filmmaker has obtained the consent of each and every one of the owners, creators, writers, producers, and any other natural or legal person related to it (“Legal representatives of the film“ ), whose consent may be required to proceed with the registration of the film at the Festival.
They have settled the payment of the corresponding copyright for the script, images, music, and any audiovisual material or any other non-original material subject to intellectual property contained in the film.
That the film is entirely original or adapted from another medium and is NOT a copy of pre-existing and copyrighted original material. The film does not include any other work that is the subject of copyright or additional protection unless that work is in the public domain or of the parties. They have submitted and obtained any consents, releases, licenses, and other releases or releases necessary for the inclusion or reproduction of any person, character, location, thing, trademark, sound recording, musical composition, or any other work in the film.
That the film does NOT present content that could be considered defamatory to any natural or legal person, nor does it violate common law or legal rights, including, without limitation, the rights of privacy and publicity or any other right of any natural or legal person.
That the film is NOT involved in any litigation process inside or outside the courts of any instance, category, or country for any reason.
That does NOT exist at the time of registration, is in process, nor will any agreement be made after the registration date, which could prejudice the right of the sending parties to provide the film as contemplated in this document or conflict with any section of the Terms and Conditions.
The films must be unpublished and have not participated in any other festival or event held in the territory of the Dominican Republic before the date of their presentation at the Festival. In this case, the films will be invalidated for the competition and participation in the Festival.
It grants the Festival the rights exclusively for promotional purposes of the Festival and communication or public information of fragments of the literary work. These rights will in no case be for profit.
It will provide all the materials necessary or required for promoting the Festival, including written, graphic, or audiovisual material, such as plot synopsis, technical and artistic sheets, press books, photographs, trailers, posters, or any other type of promotional material prepared for the Festival.
