13th PIÉLAGOS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
The 13th International Piélagos Film Festival edition will take place in Piélagos —Cantabria, Spain—

Works of minimum 65 minutes and maximum 120 minutes will be accepted, which are the first or second directorial work (fiction) of their director.
7- PUESTA DE LARGO (First feature film, with 2020 or later production)
For all works, both feature films and short films, embedded subtitles in Spanish will be required if this is not the language of the dialogues.

XIII EDITION OF THE PIÉLAGOS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
The Department of Culture of Piélagos Town Council is launching the 13th edition of the Piélagos International Film Festival "Piélagos en Corto".
SHORT FILMS
Works of maximum 20 minutes and production date after 1st January 2021 will be accepted.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
- All producers or directors who own the rights to the works they submit are eligible to participate.
- Each participant may submit as many works as they wish as long as they comply with the terms and conditions.
- The works must be subtitled in Spanish if this is not the original audio language and subtitled in English if the original audio language is Spanish (part of the jury may not understand Spanish).
- Works selected in previous editions will not be accepted, but works that were not selected may be submitted as long as they comply with the rest of the rules.
Entries may only be submitted ONLINE via the platforms specified on the social networks and the website at the time of the opening of the deadline.
Entries will be made in only one of the existing categories.
If a work is selected to participate in the competitive section, it will imply that it will be nominated in at least one of the 7 options indicated below

The deadline for entries begins on 1 September 2022 and ends on 31 January 2023.
Once a work has been entered in the competition, it may be withdrawn from the competition, but the fees will not be refunded.
The organization assumes that the persons or groups that enter the works have the rights to exhibit them, as well as the authorization to collect the award in the case of collective authorship. In any case, the organization is exempt from any liability that may derive from the infringement of this basis.
SELECTION
An international programmer, member of the European Film Academy, together with the festival's organizing team, will be in charge of selecting, among all the works received, those that will participate in the official competitive section of the festival.
The complete list of selected works, as well as their nominations, will be published for the information of all participants, both on the festival's website and Facebook profile and through the Festhome platform.
The festival organizers will contact the selected films to inform them of the technical requirements and to send the screening copies. This contact will only be made individually to the email address indicated on the registration form (details of the presenter of the film).
In order to facilitate the presence at the closing gala of the director, producer or nominee of each of the selected works, the festival will cover the cost of accommodation in a double room and 4-star hotel for the day of the gala. The invitation includes accommodation with breakfast in a double room, not including additional meals or other services
Should any of the guests be interested in reserving additional days, they must inform the festival organization with due notice. The cost of these additional days at a special reduced price must be paid directly to the hotel by those interested.
The invitation ONLY grants accreditation for 2 representatives of each selected paper, including access to the closing ceremony and the cocktail party after it.
In the case of works with several nominations, the festival will study the possibility of granting more accreditations depending on availability, with a limit of 4 accreditations per selected work, starting from 2 and independently of the total number of nominations received.
Travel will not be covered by the festival, however, a pick-up and drop-off service will be provided to the hotel on the day of arrival, as well as on the day of the march. All other travel will be at the guests' own expense, unless otherwise indicated by the festival organizers.
The festival will issue selection and nomination certificates, as well as official invitations for those foreign guests who require such documentation for the issuing of travel visas.
JURY
A jury made up of 5 prominent members of the national film world as well as prominent members of other festivals, including the director of the Piélagos festival, will be responsible for evaluating and choosing the works to be awarded as a whole (Dunas de Liencres Awards).

ATTENTION
If no confirmation from the participant or his/her representative has been received within 1 week of the notification of selection, the work will be eliminated from the competitive section.
The participants authorize the organization to use stills, photographs and extracts from the films (maximum 15 seconds) for broadcasting in any communication and promotional media, in order to promote and publicize the festival.
The presence of a representative of each selected work will be required at the closing gala. Awards not withdrawn will remain in the possession of the organization. Awards will not be duplicated or sent, nor will it be possible to claim them at a later date.
It will be the responsibility of the guests to inform themselves about the requirements imposed by the health authorities at all times.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
Participation in the 13th edition of the PIÉLAGOS International Film Festival implies the acceptance of all the sections of these rules, as well as the resolution issued by the organization as a consequence of any problem that may arise, including errors in the communication of selections and/or omissions, and which are not included in these rules.
