The Brain Damage Association for Adults and Minors calls for the Third Edition of the International Film Festival for Diversity “ADACAM” in order to continue making the invisible visible and be able to move towards a more inclusive society, focusing on young people but also on filmmakers. professionals, students and people with social concerns.

RULES FOR SUBMISSION OF SHORT FILM COMPETITIONS FOR THE 4TH ADACAM INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL FOR DIVERSITY

1. CALL FOR ENTRIES
The Association for Brain Damage in Adults and Minors (ADACAM) announces, within the 4th Edition of the FICDA ADACAM International Film Festival for Diversity, the international awards for Best Fiction Short Film, Best Documentary Short Film, Best Low-Budget Fiction Short Film, Best Short Film for Occupational Centers and Special Education, Best Short Film for Film Schools and Universities, Best Short Film for Primary Education, and Best Short Film for Secondary Education.
2. REGISTRATION CONDITIONS
a) Audiovisual productions in short film format may be entered into the competition. Pre-edits and advertising montages, partial montages from feature films, television episodes, including series pilots or montages from these, are expressly excluded from this call.
b) Short films in the fiction, documentary, or animation genres will be accepted.
c) Submitted works must have been produced after January 1, 2023.
d) Short films in competition may not exceed 20 minutes in length, including credits.
e) More than one short film may be submitted by each author or authors; they do not need to be unpublished and may have won awards in other competitions. Each short film submitted to the competition must be submitted independently and with its own application.
f) Short films in competition must develop a theme with social content, in a clear commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and values.
g) Short films entered into the Festival must be submitted in their original version with Spanish subtitles in all cases.
h) Works that do not technically guarantee proper screening will be rejected.
i) Works must be submitted to the competition in HD format (1920 x 1080 resolution), in .mov files compressed in HD64, or in HD64 mp4 format, both in 16:9 format, preferably at 25 frames per second or, failing that, at 24 frames per minute.
3. REGISTRATION METHOD
a) Registration must be submitted between midnight on October 14, 2025, and midnight on March 31, 2026, through the festival management platform Festhome.
b) The registration fee is 4 euros.
c) The Festival Management reserves the right to accept short films submitted after the deadline.
d) When registering a short film on the corresponding platform, the following information must be attached:
• Synopsis of the short film (maximum 300 characters, including spaces).
• Technical information about the film.
• Photograph of the short film poster in digital format (300 dpi, minimum height of 15 cm, in .jpg format).
4. SHORT FILM SELECTION PROCESS.
Once the deadline for receiving submissions has passed, the submissions will be reviewed by the Festival Organizing Committee to preselect the entries for the competition. The decisions made by this Committee will be made public starting March 31, 2025, through the website and the main social media platforms.
The Festival Organizing Committee will appoint the members of the Jury from among renowned specialists in the film and cultural world. The Jury's decisions regarding the finalists in each award category will be communicated personally to the interested parties and published on the website and social media.
The decisions of both the Festival Organizing Committee and the jury members are final.
The Festival Organizing Committee will resolve any eventuality not specified in these rules at its discretion.
5. awards
• Best Short Film, with a prize of 500 euros and an award.
• Best Low-Budget Short Film, with a prize of 500 euros and an award.
• Best Short Film for Special Education and Occupational Centers, with a prize of 500 euros and an award.
• Best Short Film for Primary Education, with a prize of 500 euros and an award.
• Best Short Film for Secondary Education, with a prize of 500 euros and an award.
• Best Short Film from a Film School, including universities, with a prize of 500 euros and an award.
• Best Documentary Short Film, with a prize of 500 euros and an award.
• Public, with a prize of 300 euros and an award.
The cash prizes will be subject to applicable tax withholdings and legal provisions. The winners, on their own behalf or through their representative, must provide the required documentation for accounting purposes.
The winners must attend the Festival's awards Ceremony in order to receive their awards, unless there is a duly accredited case of force majeure.
The award winners agree to include, at the beginning of the short film, an express mention of the award they won at the ADACAM International Film Festival for Diversity. The corporate image of this mention will be provided digitally by the Organizing Committee.
6. USE OF WORKS
ADACAM reserves the right to reproduce all or excerpts of the selected or award-winning works from the 4th Edition of the ADACAM International Film Festival for Diversity, providing credit to the author(s).
ADACAM may use the selected short films for two years from the end of the edition in which the short was selected for festival-related events, such as closed screenings in educational centers.
Participants authorize ADACAM to use stills, photographs, and excerpts from the films, up to a maximum of three minutes, for dissemination in any advertising medium, including television and the internet, for the purpose of promoting and disseminating this Festival.
Likewise, the individuals participating in the Gala and events organized by the Festival.
The selected and award-winning works will become part of the International Film Festival for Diversity's film library.
7. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES.
Participation in the 4th Edition of the ADACAM International Film Festival for Diversity implies acceptance of all sections of these rules, as well as the resolution by the organization of any problem not covered herein.
These rules may be subject to modification due to circumstances beyond the control of the organization, which will be communicated to interested parties with sufficient notice.
