Festival of short films with a free theme.
As specified in the rules, any short film with a maximum duration of 30 minutes including credits is admitted.

3.Jury prize for the best script: Ghorghalado figure and financial award.
4.Jury prize for the best performance (male or female): Ghorghalado figure and a financial award.

6.Jury prize for the best short film on social rights: Ghorghalado figure and financial award.
7.Jury prize for the best rural-themed short film: Ghorghalado figure and financial award.
REGISTRATION CONDITIONS FOR V MOSTRA DE CINEMA DO ROSAL - BAIXO MIÑO
The deadline for short films and other audiovisual works to participate in the V edition of the Mostra de Cinema do Rosal, Baixo Miño is open.
1.Object
The Mostra de Cinema do Rosal, Baixo Miño, aims to promote film culture through short films, showing the public that they are cinema.
The Mostra has an international character and admits short films of any theme and country of origin.
2.Organisation
It is organised by the Ghorghalado Association.
3.Celebration
The Mostra will be held during the months of July and August 2025. The screening of the finalist short films will take place from 6 to 9 August.
4.Place
There will be screenings in different locations in the Baixo Miño region. The screening of the finalists will be at Praza do Maio de Tabagón, O Rosal.
At least the screenings of the latter will be in the open air at night.
Subsequently, during the month of August, and with the aim of disseminating it as widely as possible, selections of the finalists will be screened in different places in the region.
5.Registration
The competition is limited to short films. Other works, including feature films, may be screened out of competition.
Short films may be submitted in or out of competition. If nothing is indicated, it will be understood that the entry is for competition. Only works that do not exceed 30 minutes, including credits, will enter the competition phase. Shorts longer than 30 minutes may be screened out of competition throughout the Mostra.
Registration is free of charge. It can be done at curtas@mostracinemarosal.org, through the website of the Mostra de Cinema do Rosal, Baixo Miño by filling in the corresponding form or through any of the platforms in which the Mostra is registered.

In the registration form of the work it must be clearly specified who is the legal representative of the work.
In the case of a prize with a financial award, this will be paid to the designated legal representative. Any payment made to the said representative will release the organisation of the Mostra from responsibility if the payment was to be made to another person.
The authors of the works must have the necessary permissions to use images or music that are not their own.
6.Deadlines
The deadline for submission is from 01/02/2025 to 20/06/2025, both inclusive. Those submitted after that date may be screened, but always out of competition.
The competition will consist of two phases: official competition selection and finalists. The winners will be chosen from the latter.
By 06/07/2025 the authors will be notified and the works selected for the competition will be published on the website. By 13/07/2025, the authors will be notified of the winners in confidence.
The selected works will be screened as part of the programme of the V Mostra de Cinema do O Rosal, to be held on the dates mentioned above. The finalists will be screened from 6 to 9 August 2025.
7.Making works available
A link to Vimeo, Mega, Google Drive or any other system that allows the work to be downloaded without loss of quality must be provided.
Along with the short film, the corresponding poster will be provided, in PDF or any other graphic format, preferably in a resolution of 300 dpi, as well as a synopsis of the film and other information; address, cast, etc. It is recommended to send a trailer that can be published on the Mostra website.
The organisers may publish a short excerpt of the submitted works on the website for public information and publicity, always accompanied by sufficient credits to inform, as a minimum, the creators.
Under no circumstances will the organisation cede the works submitted to third parties, except with the explicit permission of the authors or their designated representatives.
8.Technical conditions
The formats admitted to compete or participate must be:
• AVI, MOV, MP4, MKV or MPEG
• Bitrate max. 15000 kbps.
• AAC audio
• Resolution: 1280X720 or higher. 1920X1080 or 4K recommended.
9.Language
Works in any language are welcome.
If the dialogues are not in Galician or Spanish, the corresponding subtitles in either language must be submitted. Embedded subtitles are allowed but a separate .srt or similar file is recommended.
The simple submission of a work will entitle the organisation to translate the subtitles into Galician. This translation will then be made available to the owner of the short film free of charge.
10.Exclusions
A final conviction of any producer, producer, director or director for any offence related to gender violence will result in the immediate suspension of the screening and the film will be excluded from the competition, if applicable.
11.Competition categories and prizes
The following categories and prizes are established:
1.Jury prize for the best short film: Ghorghalado figure and financial award.
2.Audience Award for the best short film: Ghorghalado figure and financial award.
3.Jury prize for the best script: Ghorghalado figure and financial award.
4.Jury prize for the best performance (male or female): Ghorghalado figure and a financial award.
5.Jury prize for the best photograph: Ghorghalado figure financial award.
6.Jury prize for the best short film on social rights: Ghorghalado figure and financial award.
7.Jury prize for the best rural-themed short film: Ghorghalado figure and financial award.
The corresponding laurels will be sent to the works that enter the official selection, to the finalists and finally to the winners, as the successive phases of the Mostra come to an end.
The prize money will be communicated well in advance of this edition.
All prizes shall be indicated in gross amounts. The appropriate withholding taxes will be levied on them in due course if required by law.
Under no circumstances will the organisers be responsible for any fees for credit transfers to non-European current accounts for the prizes awarded.
12.The Jury
It will be made up of people or professionals from the fields of film, audiovisual, music, communication and culture.
It will be announced before the start of the Mostra and its decision will be final.
To facilitate the public awards, there will be a telematic voting system that will facilitate voting from mobile phones with all the guarantees.
The winner will be the one with the best arithmetic average, resulting from dividing the total score obtained by the number of voters.
The public will be able to vote up to 30 minutes after the end of the last finalist screening.
A prize may be declared void by the jury, which must give reasons for its decision. In the case of an ex-aequo prize with a monetary award, the prize shall be divided 50/50.
The jury may establish such special mentions as it deems appropriate.
The organisers of the Mostra reserve the right to take the decisions they deem appropriate in all cases not foreseen in the rules, always after hearing the affected party.
Participation in this call for applications implies acceptance of these rules.
