5th Edition

MY FIRST DOC, First Documentary Film Festival in Tunisia, organized annually by the Tunisian Documentary Cinema Association, offers screenings of creative and independent documentary films.

It aims to promote the dissemination and dissemination of documentary films in Tunisia and to promote exchanges between professionals, creators and the public in a spirit of openness to anthropological, cultural and social diversities.

It allows documentary cinema, as a form of interrogation on the world, humans and art, to participate in debates on ideas, knowledge, representations and imaginations.

My First Doc Festival carries humanistic values, based on openness to other cultures, freedom of creation and sharing.


Article 1:
Can be submitted to the selection of the My First Documentary Film Festival any documentary film not exceeding 59 minutes.

Article 2:
Participation in the selection for the My First Doc Festival is completely free.

The selected films will be presented free of charge during the festival. Participation in the Festival implies the authorization to screen films in theaters for its entire duration. Due to the crises linked to virus and epidemic situations, but also to allow a wider distribution of the selected films, the festival formula can be entirely digital with access to films from the festival platform, with possibilities for maintaining indoor screenings.

Article 3:
Only films produced during the last 2 years will be eligible.

Article 4:
Films already submitted in previous editions are not eligible.

Article 5:
Only one thread per participant will be admitted throughout the entire competition.

Article 6:
Non-French-language films must be subtitled in French or, where applicable, in English.

Article 7:
The registrant declares that he is actually author or entitled to the registered work, and as such, holds all the rights of ownership.


Article 8:
Registrations are mainly made from film call platforms for international festivals. These indicate the processes to follow to apply for My First Doc Festival.

For online registrations from the festival platform, the application must include the following:

- The registration form duly completed
- The regulation (scanned) initialed on each page and signed
- The film subtitled in French and / or English (on DVD or blu-ray or a watch link)

If the film is selected, the file complements listed below will be requested
- A poster of the film, including all the necessary information (director, title, producer, etc.).
- Pictures of the film (300 dpi in JPEG).
- A Word document including: a synopsis of 5 lines in French and in English
- A biography of the director of 10 lines in French and English.
- A watch link for a teaser.

Article 9:
Registration will only be validated upon receipt of all documents. Any incomplete file will be automatically refused without recourse.

Article 10:
Registration for My First Doc Festival is final and irrevocable from the registration of the application file thus giving full rights to the organizers to include it in their programming.

Article 11:
The selection of films for the Festival is established by a selection committee designated by My First Doc Festival. The decisions of this committee are final.

Article 12:
In case of selection, the Festival accepts the following projection formats: media in digital files via internet or hard drive, USB key, DVD or Blu-Ray.
The producer / director agree to provide a version of sufficient quality. The Festival undertakes to take the utmost care of it and reserves the right for film extracts that would be used.

Article 13:
Selected films will eventually be used in a retrospective session of the Premier Documentary Film Festival. No broadcast may be for commercial use.

Article 14:
The organizing committee reserves the right to use excerpts of the films and to broadcast on television channels, on websites, as well as on social networks for the promotion of the Festival.

The data provided during registration will be used in various publications and may be subject to translations, corrections or modifications prior to their publication.

Article 15:
The signatory of the present by-law certifies that he is entitled to the film and has informed the other potential heirs and certifies to benefit from all the legal authorizations of these. By delegation, all rights holders therefore accept this regulation in its entirety.

By signing the official registration form for the competition, the producer and the author of the work accept the above rules in their entirety.
