Sokcho International Food Film Festival (SIFFF, former Seoul International Food Film Festival) is an event to present outstanding and thought-provoking films about food and related issues every year since 2015.

While celebrating diversity of food and lifestyle from different cultures, SIFFF also aims to provide time for relaxing and healing to rediscover the taste of life, not to mention, to raise public awareness on healthy eating and sustainability.

SIFFF’s program includes an inspiring selection of documentaries, feature and short films related to food, from the newest buzzed-about ones to classics and cults.
With film screenings, a variety of events such as catered parties, cooking and tasting events, talk shows with film and culinary professionals will be held to provide delightful, multi-sensory film experience.

2015년 첫 발을 내디딘 속초국제음식영화제(구 서울국제음식영화제)는 영화와 음식을 매개로 세계 곳곳의 다양한 삶의 모습과 문화를 이해하고 서로 소통하고자 하는 축제입니다.

인생의 맛과 여유를 환기하는 영화들을 통해 현대인의 바쁜 일상에서 잊힌 삶의 미각을 되찾는 맛있는 힐링을 지향하며, 건강한 먹거리와 지속가능한 식생활에 대한 활발한 논의의 장을 마련하고자 합니다.

각양각색의 음식과 그만큼이나 다양한 문화권의 삶을 담은 영화를 통해 먹는다는 것과 우리 삶의 관계를 돌아보고 함께 나눠 먹는 즐거움을 생각하는 맛있는 영화제를 관객과 함께 만들어 가고 싶습니다.

Procedures & Regulations

1. Objectives
Sokcho International Food Film Festival (SIFFF) is an event to present outstanding and thought-provoking films about food and related issues every year. While celebrating diversity of food and lifestyle from different cultures, SIFFF also aims to provide time for relaxing and healing to rediscover the taste of life, not to mention, to raise public awareness on healthy eating and sustainable food system.

2. Period & Location
Socho International Food Film Festival will hold its 12th edition from December 10~13, 2026 in Sokcho, Gangwon Province.

3. Eligibility
Submitted films will be considered for the competitive short film sections: International Short Film Competition and Korean Short Film Competition.
- Films completed after January 1, 2024
- Films about food and related issues regardless of genre
- Films shorter than 40 minutes only

4. Entry
All entries must be submitted online with a full-length preview link or file. The submission deadline is October 26, 2026.

5. Selection Process
All submitted films will be viewed by SIFFF selection committee. Selected entrants will be notified individually by November 25, 2026. Once confirmed for screening at the film festival, entries must not be withdrawn for any reason.

6. Materials
Any materials submitted for selection will not be returned. All the costs of transportation and insurance must be fully paid by the entrant. Please note that for materials shipped from overseas, the declared value should be equivalent to the materials only (less than USD 10).

7. Shipping
For films selected and confirmed for screening, additional materials and/or a high definition digital screening copy may be requested by SIFFF, and these materials are to be submitted to SIFFF by the stated deadline in the request.

8. Language & Screening Copy
Selected films will be screened in their original version. English subtitles are required for non-English and non-Korean language films. In order to add Korean subtitles and to ensure stability in screening, the format of the final screening copy may be changed.

9. Publicity
SIFFF is qualified to use the promotional materials of all selected films submitted by the entrants and reserves the right to use excerpts from the film, with a maximum of 3 minutes (or up to 10% of the film running time), for promotional purposes.

10. Festival Archive
10-1. The materials of all selected films including the provided previews and screening copies will be kept in SIFFF archive only for promotional, non-profit, educational and research purposes after the festival.

10-2. SIFFF will be responsible for the damages caused by its carelessness in supervising the materials.

11. Copyright
Entrants are responsible for all copyright clearances for the materials included within the submitted film. SIFFF will not be held responsible for any disputes or damages related to the copyright infringement of the submitted film.

12. Force Majeure
In the event of a natural disaster or social crisis, changes may occur, and the related contents will be discussed by mutual consent.

13. Agreement
These regulations are considered valid upon submission of the entry form to SIFFF. SIFFF reserves the right to make an independent decision on any matter not enumerated in the above regulations.

2. 목적
2015년부터 시작된 속초국제음식영화제(구 서울국제음식영화제)는 영화와 음식을 매개로 세계 곳곳의 다양한 삶의 모습과 문화를 이해하고 서로 소통하고자 하는 축제다. 인생의 맛과 여유를 환기하는 영화들을 통해 현대인의 바쁜 일상에서 잊힌 삶의 미각을 되찾는 맛있는 힐링을 지향하며, 건강한 먹거리와 지속가능한 식생활에 대한 활발한 논의의 장을 마련하고자 한다. 또한 각양각색의 음식과 다양한 문화권의 삶을 담은 영화를 통해 먹는다는 것과 우리 삶의 관계를 돌아보고 함께 나눠 먹는 즐거움을 생각하는 맛있는 영화제를 관객과 함께 만들어 가고자 한다.

3. 개최 일자
제12회 속초국제음식영화제는 2026년 12월 10일부터 13일까지 4일간 강원도, 속초시에서 개최된다.

4. 영화제 프로그램
제12회 속초국제음식영화제는 경쟁 공모를 통해 오감만족 국제단편경선과 오감만족 한국단편경선을 구성하고 그 외에 다양한 초청 프로그램으로 구성된다.

5. 출품 안내
5-1. 출품 조건
- 2024년 1월 1일 이후 제작 완료된 작품
- 장르에 상관없이 음식 또는 관련 소재를 다루거나 넓은 의미에서 음식문화와 관련된 작품
- 위 조건을 충족하는 상영시간 40분 미만의 단편영화

5-2. 출품 방법
- 출품 마감: 2026년 10월 26일 (월)
- 출품은 온라인으로만 가능하며, 아래 두 방법 중 하나를 선택하여 출품해야 한다.
1) 속초국제음식영화제 홈페이지에서 출품 링크로 접속, 출품 양식 작성 및 프리뷰 링크 제출

2) 온라인 출품 웹사이트에서 온라인 출품 등록 및 프리뷰 파일 또는 링크 업로드

6. 작품 선정
작품 선정 결과는 2026년 11월 25일까지 선정작에 한하여 출품인에게 개별 통보된다. 영화제 상영이 결정된 이후에는 어떠한 이유로도 작품 상영을 취소할 수 없다.

7. 출품 운송
출품된 모든 자료는 반환되지 않으며 출품 운송에 관련된 비용 및 책임은 출품인에게 있다. 국외에서 운송 시 USD 10 이하로 가격을 명시할 것을 권한다.

8. 상영본 제출 및 반환
상영이 확정된 작품은 홍보를 위해 영화제 사무국이 요청하는 추가 자료와 고화질의 디지털 상영본을 사무국에서 요청하는 기한 내에 제공해야 한다.

9. 상영 언어 및 상영본 관리
선정된 작품은 원어로 상영되며, 비영어권 작품일 경우 영문 자막본 상영을 원칙으로 한다. 최종 상영본은 한국어 자막 작업 또는 원활한 상영을 위해 상영 포맷이 변경될 수 있다.

10. 홍보물 제작 관련 자료 사용
영화제는 홍보를 위해 출품인이 제공한 홍보용 영상(트레일러)을 그대로 이용할 수 있으며, 작품의 일부를 전체 러닝타임의 10% 또는 최대 3분 이내에서 발췌하여 사용할 수 있다.

11. 아카이브를 위한 자료 관리
11-1. 속초국제음식영화제는 상영작 자료 및 상영본을 아카이브에 보관하며 이를 상업적 목적을 제외한 홍보 및 연구, 교육적 목적을 위해 활용할 수 있다.
11-2. 영화제 측의 부주의한 관리로 인해 자료 유출 피해가 발생할 경우, 영화제가 이에 대한 책임을 진다.

12. 저작권
출품작에 사용된 음악이나 영상 등의 저작권은 출품인이 직접 해결해야 한다. 영화제는 출품작에 사용된 음악 및 영상 등의 저작권을 별도로 확인하지 않으며, 저작권과 관련하여 문제 발생 시 출품인이 전적으로 책임을 진다.

13. 불가항력
천재지변 및 사회적 위기 상황이 발생하는 경우 변경 사항이 발생할 수 있으며, 관련 내용은 출품자와 협의하여 진행할 수 있다.

14. 효력
위의 규정은 출품 신청서를 제출함과 동시에 출품규정에 동의한 것으로 간주하며 효력을 갖는다. 속초국제음식영화제는 위의 규정에 없는 사안에 대하여 결정할 권리를 갖는다.
