MUESTRA DE CINE MUJERES EN ESCENA, was born in the year 2002 with the aim of debating, through the holding of cineforums, about gender inequalities existing in our society as well as in other nearby ones, to reflect on the causes of them and the possible social strategies, to eradicate them. Since 2010, this objective of raising awareness and awareness has been added to support the presence of women in film production, an area in which there is a large gender gap, taking advantage of the fact that every day there are more women interested in developing their professional careers. in this field, therefore, one of the purposes of this exhibition is the visualization of audiovisual productions made by women, and it is achieved by dedicating the night sessions to the exclusive screening of works directed, produced or scripted by women.

SILVER BIZNAGA "WOMEN ON SCENE" Award for Best Documentary.

SILVER BIZNAGA "WOMEN ON SCENE" Award for Best Fiction Work.

BIZNAGA DE PLATA Award, “MÁLAGA. WOMEN ON THE SCENE ”for the best work done by women, born or resident in the city of Malaga.

The prizes will be awarded to the works that are chosen by the jury from among those selected for their projection in the Film Festival "Women on Stage" in 2021.

The prizes do not have an economic endowment.

The prizes may be declared void.

The management reserves the right to incorporate into the archive of the Women on Stage Film Festival the works presented for non-profit cultural use.

All the prizes will be awarded during the AFFIRMING THE RIGHTS OF WOMEN gala, in the 25th EDITION OF THE MÁLAGA FESTIVAL, to be held in 2022.

GENERAL BASES OF PARTICIPATION, 2021

19th PRIZE «WOMEN ON SCENE»
AIMED AT WOMEN WHO PARTICIPATE AS DIRECTORS, PRODUCERS AND / OR SCRIPTWRITERS OF AUDIOVISUAL PRODUCTIONS


OBJECTIVE

The Malaga Festival, in collaboration with the Area of ​​Equal Opportunities of the Malaga City Council, pursues the objective of supporting the presence of women in film production, creating spaces that make visible the work of women in the audiovisual field, professional field where they are underrepresented, both in directing, in production or in scripting; favoring the film industry with the diverse looks of women.

In this edition, it is being valued that the Women on Stage Film Festival can be held online and with screenings in theaters.

To fulfill this objective, the Equal Opportunities Area will hold its "XIX WOMEN ON SCENE FILM SHOW," between the months of October and November 2021.

THE WOMEN ON SCENE CINEMA SHOW, was born in 2002 with the aim of debating, through the celebration of cineforums, on the existing gender inequalities in our society as well as in other close ones, reflecting on the causes of them and possible social strategies, to eradicate them. Among these works presented, the Malaga Festival will award 3 "WOMEN ON SCENES" awards. From them,

- 2 awards aimed at women who participate as directors, producers and / or scriptwriters of audiovisual products: the Biznaga Silver Women on Stage award for Best Documentary, and the Biznaga Silver Women on Stage award for Best Fiction Work.

- 1 “MÁLAGA, WOMEN ON SCENE” PRIZE for the best work done by a woman, born or resident in Malaga, in any professional category: Silver Biznaga Málaga Mujeres en Scene.

PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS

The works in competition for the XI awards "WOMEN ON SCENE" aimed at women who participate as directors, producers and / or scriptwriters of audiovisual products, must meet the following requirements:

1.- Women of legal age may participate in the contest, whether or not they are professionals in the audiovisual world.

2.- Participation may be individually or collectively through legally constituted entities.

3.- The theme will be free and all audiovisual genres are admitted: dramatic, animation, documentary, etc.

4.- Works carried out prior to January 1, 2020 cannot be submitted.

The works in competition for the “MALAGA. WOMEN ON SCENE ”in addition to the above conditions, they must meet the following requirements:

1.- Born or resident in Malaga

2.- The awarded prize will take into account any professional category that has been necessary for the performance of the work presented (Production, Direction, Script, Female Interpretation, Musical Composition, Direction, Photography, Editing, Artistic Direction, Costume Design, Makeup, Hairdressing, Sound, Special Effects)

3.- In the registration form it will be necessary to indicate the category to which it is presented, if it is born or resides in Malaga and add a brief biofilmography on the platform.

VERSIONS

All participating papers will be presented in their original version, and those whose original language is not Spanish, with subtitles in this language.


REGISTRATION AND DOCUMENTATION


1. Registration through the Festhome platform

• Upload of the video of the audiovisual work
• Completion of the registration form for the Festhome Platform.


The deadline for submitting entries is June 30, 2021.

If the indicated is not completed, the works will be excluded from the selection process.

The organization will communicate the selected works for projection in the Women on Stage Film Festival, and the responsible persons will have to send a copy of the D.N.I. and filmography of the director, screenwriter and / or producer.

JURY
A professional jury, made up of experts in gender from the Equal Opportunities Area, and professionals from the world of culture and film on behalf of the Malaga Festival, and considering the vote of the public attending the Film Festival, will decide the works winners of the works selected and screened during the XIX Women on Stage Film Festival, awarding the Silver Biznaga Mujeres en Scene awards to the Best Documentary, and the Silver Biznaga Mujeres on Stage for the Best Fiction Work. The jury's decision will be final and will be notified by publishing it on the Malaga City Council website and on the notice board of the Equal Opportunities Area.

A jury made up of professionals, representatives of the Malaga Festival, the Equal Opportunities Area and the Mujeres en V.O. will fail the award "Malaga Women on Stage"

The jury may award special mentions together with the official award.

EXHIBITION RIGHTS

The person who owns the rights to display the works submitted to the competition undertakes to assign and authorize the display of said title during the Women on Stage Film Festival, at no cost to the Exhibition itself.

CIRCULATION OF COPIES (If done online, this point would not correspond)

The payment of shipping costs from the place of issue of the copy to the Equal Opportunities Area of ​​the Malaga City Council, will be borne by the producing companies.


All copies of the participating films sent to the Equal Opportunities Area must bear a label with the title of the work, its duration, version, footage, screen and projection format and type of sound, as well as the address where resend the copy after the Cinema Show ends.

ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS:

Once the selection of a film for the Film Festival has been made. Women on Stage, may not be withdrawn.

These participation bases may be completed or modified prior to the start date of the Nineteenth Edition of the Film Festival, and prior communication to the interested parties, with as many attachments as the Organization deems appropriate.

The inscription of a work to competition, supposes the acceptance and fulfillment of the present Bases of Participation and its possible Annexes.

The Equal Opportunities Area may make video and DVD copies of the works presented, which will become part of its videographic collection, intended for non-profit audiovisual dissemination, in any case the use will be communicated to the production, always of a cultural and non-profit nature made from the copies.

The presentation for selection of a work supposes the full acceptance of the present Bases of Participation. Their interpretation will be the exclusive competence of the Malaga Festival in collaboration with the Equal Opportunities Area.
