The "Corto di sera" Festival takes place in August in Itala, in the province of Messina since 2012.

Participation to the Festival is free and open to all Italians and foreign authors, single filmmakers orcollectives/associations.

- The Festival is exclusively dedicated to short films that last less than 25minutes.

- Any genre will be accepted (documentary, fiction, classic and/or digital animation)

- All foreign works shot in any language which is not Italian must be subtitled in Italian . Non-subtitled foreign short films will not be selected.

- Each author may submit up to a maximum of three works.

- The organizers reserve the possibility to create additional sections.

Festival’s purpose is to promote the independent short film production in all its forms as an artistic and expressive language. The aim of to create an annual event in Italy where filmmakers, video makers, professionals or enthusiasts cinema can meet and connect different experiences.

The works will be judge by a jury of experts and enthusiasts in the film making industry.

Awards are planned for the three best short films. The organization and the jury also reserve the right to assign special mentions to other works. The jury's decision is final.

There will be special prizes for the works of authors who choose as a location on the territory of Itala.
The selected works will be included in a film promotion circuit handled by Short Evening of Messina and the Film Commission. The organization reserves the right to update the entry for the sections and the award ceremony of this announcement.

"CORTO DI SERA"

Targets
The aim of the Festival is to promote independent short films in all their forms as an artistic and expressive language. The event aims to create an annual appointment at Itala where directors, videomakers, professionals or simple cinema enthusiasts can compare and combine the different experiences.


Regulations


Participation in the Festival is free and open to all Italian and foreign authors, both at the level individual that associative. The Festival is open to any kind of short film.

The only requirement is the duration that should not exceed 20 minutes.

The organization reserves the right to update the entry concerning the sections and awards of the present Call.

Short films that have already participated in other competitions or won an award in other festivals can also participate. The short films shot in non-Italian language must be subtitled in Italian, under penalty of exclusion from the Festival.

Each author can send up to a maximum of three works. The organizers reserve the right to create further sections.

The organization reserves the right to extend the registration deadline.

To participate, every director or other person holds the rights of the short, must send by mail simple or electronically within the registration deadline:

• 1 Multimedia File (any format as long as not more than 2 Giga) or DVD of the short.

• 1 Synopsis / Presentation of a maximum of five lines (to be sent also via e-mail to
cortodisera@gmail.com)

• 1 Registration and release forms, filled out in all their parts (to be sent, however, also by email to cortodisera@gmail.com)

• 1 Brief biography of the author (optional)
Sending an electronic file.

The link from which to download the video file (through the programs Vimeo, Wetrasfer, Dropbox, etc.) must be sent to cortodisera@gmail.com. It is also possible to register through the web platforms reserved for sharing cinematographic works. In any case, the files must not exceed the 2 GB size.

On all the media sent by mail must be clearly indicated: title of the short film, name and surname of the director, duration and year of realization, mobile phone contact and e-mail.

(The shipping costs of the package are the responsibility of the participants)

The Registration Form and the Disclaimer for the use of the movie free of charge, (available on www.cortodisera.it) must be filled in all the pages and signed in original, under penalty of exclusion from the competition. Both documents must be sent by mail together with a brief synopsis of the works in competition and the authors' biography at the following address: cortodisera@gmail.com

The materials sent will not be returned and will be part of the archive of Corto di Sera, without this entailing any compensation to be paid by the organizing organization of the event.

During the Festival the viewers will have the opportunity to express their opinion on the works in competition determining the winners in the various categories. The organization reserves the possibility of setting up a jury composed of experts and enthusiasts of the sector they will evaluate the selected works.

Award plaques for the three best short films are planned. The organization and the jury also reserve the right to assign special mentions to other works. The jury's decision is unquestionable.

The selected works will be included in a film promotion circuit curated by Corto di Sera and the Messina Film Commission.

The Festival will take place over several days in August in one of the characteristic places of the municipality of Itàla (Messina). The exact date and place will be communicated through the press, on social networks, on the Corto site in the evening.

The authors of the selected works will be contacted by e-mail or telephone.
