In its first edition, Curta Ave Lola - International Short Film Festival turns its attention to cinematic productions that flirt with the universe of theater. With a 100% online and free program, the festival will feature 16 short films from Brazil and Latin system, lectures, masterclasses, a workshop for the public education network, and discussions.

The festival will award the three best films of the festival through popular vote. The awarded films, in addition to receiving an honorable mention from the festival, will receive the following prizes: R$5,000 (1st place - five thousand reais), R$3,000 (2nd place - three thousand reais), and R$1,000.00 (3rd place - one thousand reais).

REGULATIONS
Curta Ave Lola - International Short Film Festival

GENERAL PROVISIONS

1. Curta Ave Lola - International Short Film Festival is organized by Ave Lola e as Meninas Produções Artísticas Ltda. The Festival will be held online from September 19 to November 20, 2023.

2. Submissions for the festival are open for short films of all genres. The selected films will be screened in the MOV or H264 format with a 16:9 aspect ratio, 1920 x 1080 resolution.

3. Curta Ave Lola considers short films up to 30 minutes in length.

CONDITIONS FOR SUBMISSIONS
To be eligible to participate in the Ave Lola Short Film Festival, it is necessary to comply with the following rules:

1. Films must be in short film format, of all genres, with a narrative language that engages with the universe of theater, with a duration of up to 30 minutes (including credits), produced in Brazil or any country in Latin America and completed from 2019 onwards.

2. Submission of unfinished works will be accepted under the following conditions:
- Videos for selection must be submitted in the final cut of the work, and the only modifications accepted between this version and the screening file are audio mixing, color correction, and mastering.
- The non-completion of the film must be explicitly stated at the time of submission, in the designated field, specifying what remains to be done.

3. Advertising and/or institutional videos will not be accepted.

SUBMISSIONS
1. Submissions must be made by the filmmakers, producers, or legal representatives of the films through the Festhome platform at https://festhome.com/pt from May 22 to July 22, 2023.

2. Films must be submitted through the Festhome platform via a private link, which should maintain the same access password until August 20, 2023.

4. The film submission implies the agreement and authorization of the rights holder for the online screening of the selected films during the event's program, as well as the use of promotional materials (photos, synopsis, and frames), affirming responsibility for the circulation of the short film.

5. In addition to the selection process, the Festival reserves the right to invite films for screening.

6. Films that have filled out the incorrect form or this form incorrecty will not be considered.

7. All films must be submitted with English or Portuguese subtitles when not spoken in Portuguese.

8. The festival will not be responsible for covering any expenses or fees related to sending materials for selection. This means that all expenses and fees associated with the short film submission are the full responsibility of the individual or entity submitting it.

SELECTION
1. The Festival provides a payment of R$500 (five hundred reais) for each of the 16 selected short films. The payment will be made only upon issuing an invoice, issued by the producer or copyright holder of the film. The invoice details must be in accordance with the requirements of Ave Lola e as Meninas Produções Artísticas Ltda.
1.1 The information for invoicing will be provided later by the selection committee in the registration email.
1.2 In the case of films from other countries, the production of the project will contact you to formalize the payment format.

2. The finalization and submission of the selected works must be sent to the festival production team by August 31, 2023.

3. Complementary documents of the work may be requested by e-mail.

4. Any email or request made to the entrant and/or selected filmmaker must be responded to within a maximum of 5 (five) days.

5. Failure to respond to requests within the specified timeframe may result in disqualification and/or non-payment.

6. Failure to submit the invoice within the specified timeframe, or submission that does not comply with the requirements, may result in disqualification and/or non-payment.

7. The list of selected short films will be published on the website www.avelola.com.br. The list of films that were not selected will not be published.

SCREENING
1. The festival will take place through online screenings. The rights holders of each selected film will be contacted and consulted for authorization of exhibitions.

2. Ave Lola e as Meninas Produções Artísticas Ltda. shall not be held responsible for any problems, conflicts, and/or disputes, direct or indirect, related to the copyrights of the selected short films.

AWARDS
1. The festival will award the three best films of the festival through popular vote. 4. For films from other countries, the production team will contact to formalize the payment format for the prize.

5. Additional documentation for the winning film may be requested from the recipient via email.

6. Any email or request made to the winners of the vote must be responded to within a maximum of 5 (five) days.

7. Failure to respond to requests within the specified timeframe may result in non-payment of the prize.

8. Failure to submit the invoice within the specified timeframe, or submission that does not comply with the requirements, may result in non-payment of the prize.

7. The list of winning short films will be published on the website www.avelola.com.br. The list of films that were not selected will not be published.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. By submitting a film through this platform, the individual or entity declares that they are authorized to commit the film to screenings, and understands and accepts these terms and regulations.

2. The official selection of the selected films will be announced to the public and the press by August 31, 2023.

3. The person responsible for the submission shall indemnify and hold Curta Ave Lola - International Short Film Festival harmless against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees and court costs) that may arise due to any claims involving copyright, trademarks, credits, advertising, exhibition, loss, or damage to the submitted selection videos.

FINAL PROVISIONS
1. Cases not provided for in these regulations will be analyzed by the festival's organizing committee, and their decision shall be final.
