The 15th FICCI-ON - Ciudad Rodrigo International Film Festival aims to promote educational, social and spiritual films made around the world.
The theme of the festival will therefore be educational, social and values-based; including all those films that promote child development in all its aspects.
Values-based films that deal with the subject of human rights, as well as intercultural dialogue. There will also be room for films with ethnographic themes, social denunciation or commitment to the development of the culture of Peace. Regarding spiritual themes, this is a very broad section where religious and/or spiritual films will be included, regardless of the confession and creed of the film and its authors.
An International Jury, formed by professionals from the film and culture sectors, will award the following prizes:

REGULATIONS 2026
OBJECTIVES
The 15th FICCI-ON - Ciudad Rodrigo International Film Festival**, aims to promote educational, social, and spiritual cinema made across the world.
The Festival's theme will therefore be educational, social, and values-based; including all films that support children's development in all its aspects. Films of value that address human rights, as well as intercultural dialogue, will be considered. Films with ethnographic themes, social commentary, or commitment to promoting a Culture of Peace will also be accepted. Regarding the spiritual theme, this is a very broad category that will include religious and/or spiritual films regardless of the confession and creed of the film and its authors.

The fifteenth edition of FICCI-ON will be held from 6th to 14th November 2026

SECTIONS
The Festival will consist of the following sections:
OFFICIAL SECTION
Feature films and short films in the categories of fiction, documentary, or animation produced after 1st January 2024 of any nationality may compete.
A feature film will be considered a film with a minimum running time of 60 minutes or more, including credits.
A short film will be considered a film with a maximum running time of 20 minutes, including credits.
For the documentary section, documentary films with a maximum running time of 30 minutes, including credits, may compete.
The 15th Edition of FICCI-ON will prefer works that have not been previously screened, but will admit films to the Official Section that have been exhibited commercially or have been presented at any other festival.
Films that have already been presented in a previous edition of FICCI-ON will not be accepted.
Films that have public access for viewing on any platform, website, or any medium where the public can view them freely will not be accepted.
POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF MADRID FILM AWARD FOR BEST SHORT FILM
⦁ OBJECTIVES
The Polytechnic University of Madrid Film Award has the following objectives:
⦁ To foster film-making artistic creativity within the university sphere.
⦁ To stimulate the dissemination of research works in the field of science, technology, and innovation.
⦁ To promote interest in research and scientific and technological careers from an early age.
⦁ THEME
In accordance with the objectives, the theme of the short films submitted for the competition will be technical, scientific, and innovative.
The content should aim to be **informative** in nature, so that it is easily understandable by the general public.
⦁ CATEGORY
Short films, in the categories of fiction, documentary, or animation, may compete:
⦁ A short film will be considered a film with a maximum running time of 15 min, including credits.
⦁ Fiction: narration of real or fictional events, featuring characters, in a space and time.
⦁ Documentary: cinema that shows or describes an existing reality.
⦁ Animation: the achievement of movement through the juxtaposition of frames that have been individually created.
⦁ PARTICIPANTS
Students, professors, researchers, and collaborators of Universities, Foundations, or other public or private organisations that promote research and innovation.
⦁ VERSIONS
Like all films participating in FICCI-ON, short films aspiring to the UPM award must be presented in their ORIGINAL VERSION, and those whose original language is not Spanish MUST INCLUDE SPANISH subtitleS, EVEN FOR SELECTION COPIES.
⦁ JURY AND AWARD
⦁ The team of professors from the film course *El arte de ver películas* (The Art of Watching Films) (UPM, APDIJ, and FGUPM) will appoint the members of the jury, which will consist of film specialists.
⦁ The jury's decisions will be final and cannot be appealed, and no justification arguments will be provided or claims accepted.
⦁ The award may be declared void if the jury so decides.
⦁ The jury may grant a special mention or runner-up prize, if deemed appropriate.
⦁ The Directorate of FICCI-ON may be present, with voice but no vote, in the deliberations and communications of the UPM award jury.
⦁ The UPM award will be presented during the statuette awards gala, which will be held on 14th November 2026 in Ciudad Rodrigo (Salamanca). Should the winners or their representatives be unable to attend to receive the statuette, they may request its delivery.
SPECIAL CinemaNET "What a Wonderful Life!" AWARD
Within the framework of FICCI-ON itself, for short films that show the greatness and beauty of life with a positive vision, or that highlight the negative aspects of elements, events, or facts that threaten it, especially against human life or the dignity of the person (war, hunger, abortion, poverty, terrorism, euthanasia, drugs, alcoholism, violence, intolerance...).

THE COSTS OF SENDING THE AWARD WILL IN NO CASE BE BORNE BY THE FICCI-ON ORGANISATION OR THE UPM.
⦁ PROGRAMMING, EXHIBITION RIGHTS AND PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL
In accordance with the FICCI-ON terms and conditions, the films submitted for the UPM award:
⦁ The Festival Organisation will agree on the order and date of exhibition of each film.
⦁ During the celebration of the Festival, the Organisation reserves the right to exhibit the selected films in as many public screenings as it deems appropriate. In this regard, the production companies will transfer the rights for the public exhibition of their films during the duration of the Festival at no cost to the latter.
⦁ The films will become part of the video libraries of the Festival and the UPM, provided the production company gives its consent, and may be used for non-profit audiovisual dissemination. In any case, the Festival organisation, or, where applicable, the UPM, will inform the producers of the use made of these copies, and this use will always be cultural and non-profit.
⦁ The films may be exhibited in the parallel programme carried out by the Kinema Siete Cultural Association, the Festival organiser, throughout the year in non-profit and dissemination activities such as the Rural Cinema cycle.
⦁ The production companies and directors participating in the15th Edition of FICCI-ON authorise, by registering for the festival regardless of the method used, the use of one or more fragments of their film for dissemination as informational material in any medium of communication.
⦁ ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS (Following the general FICCI-ON terms and conditions)
⦁ Short films that do not comply with the proposed theme or do not come from one of the recipients of this specific call will not be accepted.
⦁ Short films submitted for the competition must be endorsed and stamped by the academic entity to which their creators belong.
⦁ The jury will assess the cinematographic quality of the films submitted for the competition, as this is a film award with a specific theme.
⦁ The jury will prefer works not previously screened, but will admit short films that have been exhibited commercially or have been presented at any other festival.
⦁ Films that have already been presented in a previous edition of FICCI-ON will not be accepted.
⦁ Films that have public access for viewing on any platform, website, or any medium where the public can view them freely will not be accepted.
⦁ Once a film has been selected by the Festival for any of the Sections, it cannot be withdrawn.
⦁ Requests for payment or royalties for exhibiting any selected film at the festival will not be accepted.
⦁ These terms and conditions of entry may be supplemented or modified, prior to the start date of the 15th Edition of FICCI-ON and after communication to the interested parties, with any other annexes the Organisation deems appropriate.
⦁ The registration of a film for the UPM Award of this 15th Edition of FICCI-ON implies full acceptance and compliance with these Terms and Conditions of Entry and their possible annexes.
⦁ The interpretation of these terms will be the exclusive competence of the Festival Directorate. In case of doubt, the Spanish version of these Regulations is decisive.
NON-OFFICIAL SECTION
Feature films and short films in the categories of fiction, documentary, or animation produced after 1st January 2024 that the organisation deems appropriate for its theme within the parallel programming that the festival may carry out may be exhibited. They may enter specific competition at the discretion of the organisation. This decision will be communicated before the start of the Festival.
Films that have already been presented in a previous edition of FICCI-ON will not be accepted. Films that have public access for viewing on any platform, website, or any medium where the public can view them freely will not be accepted.
VERSIONS
All films participating in the different sections will be presented in their ORIGINAL VERSION, and those whose original language is not Spanish MUST INCLUDE SPANISH subtitleS, EVEN FOR SELECTION COPIES.
REGISTRATION AND DOCUMENTATION
Entry forms must be completed via the festival website (www.festivalficcion.com) before 31st MAY 2026 in all categories.
Three periods are established for film submission:
FIRST PERIOD, from 15th DECEMBER 2025 to 31st JANUARY 2026:
Registration will be FREE OF CHARGE
SECOND PERIOD, from 1st FEBRUARY to 31st MARCH 2026:
To complete registration, you must pay the amount of €4 as a registration fee.
THIRD PERIOD, from 1st APRIL to 31st MAY 2026:
To complete registration, you must pay the amount of €10 as a registration fee.
REGISTRATION VIA DIGITAL PLATFORMS
Entries can be submitted through the platform FESTHOME before 31st MAY 2026. The periods and fee prices will be the same as those described above.
REGISTRATION OF FILMS THROUGH ANY OF THESE PLATFORMS IMPLIES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
METHODS OF SUBMISSION
Films may be submitted to FICCI-ON in two ways:
online, via a download or viewing link for all those who have registered through the platform FESTHOME.
By postal mail to the FESTIVAL headquarters:

SUBMISSION MATERIAL
The following documentation must be sent to the Festival offices before the indicated date:
The complete copy of the film in its final version in .MP4 or .MOV or a download link for the film in digital format, in any case with **Spanish subtitles** if its original language is not Spanish.
Duly completed and signed entry form
Three photographs in digital format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi of scenes from the film.
Synopsis of the film (maximum 8 lines).
Director's bio-filmography.
It is necessary and mandatory for selection in any of the Festival sections that all fields of the entry form are completed and that the required documentation is submitted within the established deadlines according to the points above. Otherwise, the films may be excluded from the selection process.
REGISTRATIONS MUST COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING deadlineS:
For selection, send before 31st May 2026:
File, Technical-Artistic Data Sheet, Film and Director photographs.The submission of the ENTRY FORM,duly completed and signed, either physically or digitised, is mandatory.
Once selected, send before 1st October 2026: Projection copy in **DCP, .MP4 or .MOV**, Posters or Affiches and publicity material, as well as film excerpts for promotion. Clearly indicating the film title, running time, footage, format, and copy value to:

Download link for the film in the highest possible quality, preferably DCP
languages and subtitles. Films whose VO is not Spanish must have subtitles in that language (Spanish).
The Festival will never be responsible for the costs derived from the shipment of materials.
JURIES AND awards JURIES
The Festival Directorate will appoint the juries for the Official Section, whose decisions will be final and need not be justified.
Themembers of the different categories may grant a maximum of fourawards to the same film.
The juries may grant, alongside the official awards, special mentions or runner-up prizes in each of the sections.
The awards in all categories may be declared void if the jury so decides.
The Audience Award, in all categories in which it is granted, will be given to the film that obtains the highest average score based on the votes cast, provided the number of voters exceeds the minimum established for each of the sections.
The Directorate of FICCI-ON may be present, with voice but no vote, in the deliberations and communications of the different juries.

awards AND/OR RECOGNITIONS FOR PARALLEL SECTIONS
In the case of a programme of parallel sections that may enter competition, a jury will be appointed to award these works, and both the jury and the awards will be announced before the start of the festival.
The statuettes will be presented during the awards ceremony gala, which will be held on 14th November 2026 in Ciudad Rodrigo (Salamanca). Should the winners or their representatives be unable to attend to receive the statuette, they may request its delivery.
THE COSTS OF SENDING THE STATUETTES WILL IN NO CASE BE BORNE BY THE FICCI-ON ORGANISATION.
