GREEN AWARD

10 international feature films of fiction, documentaries and animation, related to environmental and sustainability issues, will be selected to participate in a competition with numerous awards.

The films we will show will propose viable and concrete visions or examples of successful initiatives, always with the aim of instilling hope and promoting innovative initiatives that can contribute to improving the world.

The section MARATEALE IN GREEN will award the prize Champion of Sea and Earth (For commitment to the environment and sustainability).

1. ORGANIZERS AND PROMOTERS
The MARATEALE is organized by the Associazione Cinema Mediterraneo (https://www.marateale.com) and will take place in the amphitheater of the prestigious Santavenere Hotel and other locations in Maratea.

2. MARATEALE IN GREEN – ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Marateale in Green is a new section of the Marateale Festival that promotes environmental sustainability in accordance with the goals set in the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Ten feature films with environmental themes (animation, documentaries, fiction) will be selected to participate in the MARATEALE IN GREEN competition. All submitted works must be recent productions, made not before than January 1, 2022.

3. LOCATION – DATE
The Marateale will take place in Maratea (Pz) from July 23rd to 27th, 2024.

4. JURY
The Festival management will appoint a Jury composed of personalities from the world of Cinema and Art.

5. LEGITIMATE REPRESENTATIVE
The person submitting the film assumes the responsibility of being the legitimate representative authorized by all rights holders of the work. The declaration made by the individual who has signed the registration form exempts the Associazione Cinema Mediterraneo from verifying the legitimacy of the submission, which will be deemed established, thereby absolving it from any related responsibility.

6. REGISTRATION
The competition admits national and international works produced after 1/1/2022 and made on any medium dealing with environmental issues, unpublished in Italy. Send your form in Word format to the following address: maratealegreen@gmail.com, no later than 10/6/2024.

It is recommended that the film submission via Vimeo link or any other digital means has a valid password until 31/7/2024. The deadline for sending registrations is 10/6/2024.

Alternatively, you can send: a DVD, Blu-ray, or DCP to the address:

The DVD must also be received by 10/6/2024. Films in preselection must be without subtitles if the original version is in Italian; with english or Italian subtitles if the original version of the film is in a different language.


7. SELECTED FILMS
The official selection of films will be announced by 1/7/2024. Subsequently, international distributors and/or producers must send the following material by 8/7/2024: posters, brochures, press kits, synopses, DCP (high-resolution file via email).

8. SCREENINGS
For organizational and logistical reasons, the screenings of the Marateale in Green competition will take place from 18/07/2024 to 22/07/2024.

9. HOSPITALITY
The organization will provide board and lodging for up to two people for the presentation of selected films for the MARATEALE IN GREEN section. Directors and lead actors will be given priority.

10. Awards
The MARATEALE IN GREEN section will be awarded the Champion of Sea and Earth prize (For commitment to the environment and sustainability).

11. GENERAL RULES
The registration of a film in the section implies full and unconditional acceptance of these regulations. Acceptance to participate in the competition and the sending of materials imply non-exclusive authorization to the festival organizers to broadcast and make available to the public - through their website and by any other means or form known - some sequences of the presented works (max 20 sec.), without claiming any compensation for the authors. The submission of photographic and/or informational material (scene photos, author photos, biography and filmography, film synopsis, author's statement, poster...) related to the film also implies non-exclusive authorization to the Festival organizers to release and make available to the public - through publication in the catalogue and on the official Festival website and by any other means or form known - images and information related to the works presented. The decisions regarding the awards are final. This regulation is drafted in Italian and english. In case of interpretative problems, the Italian version shall prevail. The Festival Management may make decisions regarding matters not covered by these regulations. The competent court for any disputes is the Court of Lagonegro.
