UWO Film Awards 2026 Launches Global Film Festival & Screenplay Contest with 100% Free Submissions

The Unitary World Order Organisation (UWO) has officially announced the launch of the UWO Film Awards 2026 Film Festival & Screenplay Contest. Organized as an integral part of the prestigious International Conference on Unitary Government and World State, this global initiative seeks to honor extraordinary excellence across all areas of filmmaking—from the creative vision of directors and writers to the artistry of performers and technical crews.

Guided by its mission statement, the UWO Film Awards continues to celebrate both established and emerging talent from around the world, shining a spotlight on originality, craft, and distinct cinematic impact. True to its commitment to supporting global independent cinema, submission to the festival is 100% free with absolutely no hidden fees.

Prestigious Accolades & Career-Defining Opportunities:-
All winners across the various competition categories will be honored with an official Memento and Certificate. Beyond standard recognition, the festival offers game-changing incentives for filmmakers and screenwriters:

• Production Partnership:
Winners will receive a rare opportunity to collaborate with the upcoming UWO film production division in India.

• Publishing Deal:
Selected screenplays from the contest will be officially published in book format.

• Monetary Cash Prize:
The special regional category for Short Film (Malayalam Language) features an exclusive monetary award to support local independent talent.

Comprehensive Competition Categories:-
The festival accepts films of any genre, length, and language, provided that non-English language entries include English subtitles. Submissions are classified into the following structured segments:

• Feature-Length Categories (Over 60 Minutes):
Feature Film, Long Documentary, Long Animation Film, Long Experimental Film, and Music Video.

• Short-Form Categories (Under 60 Minutes):
Short Film (International), Short Documentary, Short Animation Film, Short Experimental Film, and Music Video.

• Special Category:
Short Film (Malayalam Language) – Strictly under 20 minutes and must be in the Malayalam language.

• Screenplay & Literary Contests:
Screenplay (Feature Film), Screenplay (Short Film), Book on Cinema (based on submitted books), and Film Critic Award (based on submitted articles).

Rigorous Judging & Complimentary Script Reports:-
The UWO Film Awards is curated by an esteemed panel of industry professionals, ensuring each submission is reviewed with the highest level of care, integrity, and artistic respect. Projects are evaluated purely on merit, craft, vision, and narrative impact. Notably, all screenplay entries will receive a complimentary professional script report, providing thoughtful critique and professional insights.

Streaming, Screenings, and Legal Guidelines:-
By submitting a film, entrants grant the UWO Film Awards the rights to utilize trailers, posters, and stills for promotional purposes. Selected Feature and Short films will be streamed on the official UWO website and its Vimeo Channel (short filmmakers may opt out and provide promotional materials instead).

The festival strictly prohibits extremist, propaganda, or pornographic content. The competition is operated by the Unitary World Order Organisation, officially registered under The Kerala Societies Registration Act, 2025 (Act 14 of 2025).

• Submission Deadline: 15th June 2026

• Notification Date: 16th June 2026

• Film Screening Date & Venue: Saturday, 24th June 2026 at Thiruvananthapuram Farmers Welfare Society Hall, Karamana, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. (Winning short films will be screened live; winning features will be showcased via official trailers).

• Grand Award Ceremony Date & Venue: 24th June 2026 at Sathyan Memorial Hall (Nearby Museum), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.
