Short Out is a film festival conceived as a space for reflection on the issues shaping suburban and peripheral areas.

The enhancement of peripheral spaces is today a crucial topic for exploring expanding territories and understanding an urban context increasingly oriented toward centralization.

Within the margins lies an unexpressed — or still unexplored — artistic vitality. Short Out aims to bring this creative energy to light, starting from Lainate, on the edge of the metropolitan city of Milan.

The fifth edition of Short Out Festival will take place from Tuesday 7th to Sunday 12th July, within the natural spaces and courtyards of Villa Litta — an emblem of the artistic, historical, and cultural heritage of the city of Lainate.

Short Out aspires to be a widespread festival, one that does not end with film screenings alone, but gives rise to a continuous programme of events unfolding across all six days of the festival.

ANIMAR FESTIVAL

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil

ANIMAR is an animation film festival where the magic of animation comes to life. Guided by a passion for captivating visual narratives, the festival presents a free and diverse program that engages children, teenagers, adults, film and audiovisual students, professionals in the field, animation enthusiasts, and curious people of all ages.

The festival takes place in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in the North Zone, in the traditional neighborhood of Marechal Hermes — a territory deeply connected to the history of Brazilian cinema and also to suburban popular culture in its multiple expressions. The region is part of the cinematic imagination of the Rio suburbs: affectionately nicknamed "Marechalwood". It has been the setting for landmark productions of national cinema and a space where fundamental works and filmmakers circulated, such as Cacá Diegues, Arnaldo Jabour, and Tizuka Yamazaki, whose films helped to build a sensitive and social perspective on Rio de Janeiro and its neighborhoods.

Beyond cinema and the arts, Marechal Hermes carries a cultural identity that also extends to its popular gastronomy, present in the daily lives and affective memories of its residents. The traditional generous sandwiches, affectionately known as "podrões," are a symbol of gathering, conviviality, and flavor, as is the famous "barata de Marechal," officially recognized as a Material Cultural Heritage of the State of Rio de Janeiro, according to Law 9.692/2022, sanctioned in May 2022, which recognizes the tradition of the snack sold at the stall of merchant Ademar Moreira for over 30 years, near the neighborhood's train station—a mark of resistance and suburban identity that spans generations and local histories.

Marechal Hermes also stands out for its cultural vocation, housing historical spaces such as the Armando Gonzaga Theater, a symbol of the neighborhood's relationship with audiovisual media and the arts, and reinforcing its role as fertile territory for film production, exhibition, and training. By occupying this space — between screens, animated stories, popular flavors, and living traditions — ANIMAR reaffirms the suburbs as a creative center and celebrates animation as an artistic, educational, and transformative language, deeply connected to the territory that welcomes it.

Sharing moments that move people through films with cars.

International Auto Film Festa (IAFF) is a film festival that connects people, cultures, and emotions through the presence of automobiles.

ANTARES - International Film Festival of Labor and Profession.

The Antares Film Festival showcases films where work is not just a backdrop, but the heart of the story. We prioritize talented works that use the protagonist's profession as the foundation of their drama, allowing us to explore characters, conflicts, dreams, and achievements.

Our focus is on individuals whose hands and minds perform everyday feats, such as steelworkers and teachers, doctors and farmers, engineers and fishermen. We value stories where work is not just a job, but a destiny. Where a machine, a blackboard, an operating room, or a construction site becomes a space for personal growth, struggle, triumph, or tragedy.

The festival was initiated by the Association of Employers "Safety and Quality". The film festival was produced by: Open Communication Group LLC

Único - International Amateur Film Festival

Lisbon, Portugal

Único – International Amateur Film Festival was born from a commitment to value cinema created outside commercial and industrial circuits. Films made at home, in schools, within communities, or through personal urgency and affection. Family records, local narratives, poetic gestures, unfinished attempts — amateur cinema constitutes a vast and largely unseen visual heritage that this festival seeks to reveal, question, preserve, and reactivate.

Rejecting production-year limits, the festival acknowledges that amateur cinema often exists beyond institutional timelines. Many films remain unseen for years, waiting for their first public encounter. Único embraces discovery as a curatorial principle, welcoming films made in any period and valuing their relevance in the present rather than their date of production.

Fees are designed to remain accessible, supporting inclusivity while contributing to the festival’s sustainability.

The programme brings together multiple dimensions of amateur filmmaking:

the presentation and activation of audiovisual archives;

cinema creation and exchange within schools;

encounters and conversations around memory, access, education, and territory;

and international sessions developed with cultural and educational partners, including institutions working under challenging social or geopolitical conditions.

By creating a shared space for filmmakers, educators, archivists, and audiences, Único positions amateur cinema not as a marginal practice, but as a living field of experimentation, attention, and collective authorship.

ntroduction

The 24th MonFilmFest, organized by Immagina a.c. APS, returns from July 2 to July 11, 2026, in Mombello Monferrato (Turin) and in "everywhere" mode. The festival aims to tell stories through cinema, giving space to new voices and talents. This edition celebrates the theme "This Land Is My Land" (Questa terra è la mia terra), a tribute to Monferrato and the Planet in their complexity and beauty.

Mission

The search for new stories and new cinema talents through "a game" that defines and determines "a way of producing."
Uniqueness and Characterization: MonFilmFest has maintained its roots as "cinema games without borders" in Monferrato but has opened up to the world. In our regulations, we provide guidelines consistent with our past, starting from the idea of narrating—from Monferrato—THE Planet in its multiple physical, anthropic, political, and economic aspects, highlighting its evident environmental criticalities and its resilient beauties.

Festival Sections - Cinema Games

1. Seven Days for a Film (Sette Giorni per un Film)

This is the heart of MonFilmFest: a challenge to create a short film in just seven days, from writing to screening. This section is divided into two modes:

1. ON SITE
The invited authors will move to Mombello Monferrato, where they will shoot the film entirely within the territory.

Details: Hospitality guaranteed for a maximum of 5 people (board and lodging included).

The crew must have their own vehicle and be equipped with their own filming and editing equipment.

2. OFF SITE
The invited authors will produce their film wherever they are located, respecting the same timeframes as the ON SITE mode.

Details: No territorial constraints, but the specific rules indicated in the regulations sent to the invited participants apply.

2. Showcase (Vetrina)

A section dedicated to the research and screening of cinematographic works produced after January 1, 2024. There are no limits on genre, duration, or style. The FESTHOME platform will host the films, making them available to an international audience.

3. Chat, Action! (Chat si gira!)

Chat si gira! is the new MonFilmFest game dedicated to the pre-production of a film written four-handed with Artificial Intelligence. Launched during the 21st edition in 2023, following the heated debate of recent times, the project involves screenwriters and AI developers working together to create an original screenplay.

The first step will be to write—in Italian, with suggestions offered by Artificial Intelligence—the synopsis, subject, treatment, and screenplay of a short film, all within Seven Days. The chat bot software will be indicated by the organization to the participants. The exclusive author of the work is the human participant, who indemnifies the association from specific risks related to algorithmic copyright.
